Thanks for this video! It works! however I want to mention that for my 2011 Chevy Cruze, I finally needed a "calibration" of the door actuator motor. My friend came with a garage scanner, took 1 minute to complete the calibration. Reason: after replacing the parts (13263335 _ 11$ each), I cycled the different positions, but the gear motor was trying to go farter to complete his cycle, however was not possible. It looks like the small plastic gear were sliding/skipping teeth. The scanner allowed to "recalibrate" the door actuator motor. Thanks again! Cheers. Danny, Quebec, Canada

I'm on iteration three of this and I don't think I have it right. That bottom gear lever is a beast to get in and even worse to try to set the timing. You kind of need to toggle it to "Floor" then figure out the position of the small gear that operates the door, then get the lever in the right spot. Somewhere there HAS to be a documented procedure for setting the phase on these things... ugh. I was a little surprised to see OP running the vehicle with the knee airbag hooked up but clearly you know what you're doing. Thanks for the video.

Great video! Exact same issue on my Cruze LT 2012.

How did everyone get the gears synced up?

Brought my sonic to the dealer to fix the blower motor. The local mechanic, who is ok, couldn't do it, so after his attempt, he didn't charge us, and told us we should go to the dealer. After I finally got vents back in my car, I realized they had broken the part that switches the vents, which has broken in the past, but was fixed. I called to ask and the guy on the phone claimed that they would not take responsibility for breaking it, but would fix it for a charge. Every time I've brought my car there, they have broken something else. Tired of it, just gonna do this myself. Thanks for the insight.

I have same problem; picked up the 2 levers for just over $10. each at Chev dealership and a 10 pack of ignition wrenches (10 metric sizes) on sale for $16.00 at Canadian Tire.

I think using a paint marker on the gear would be easier to get it back into place

By selecting the position functions on the panel can you determine which gear is the one that has the problem?

Man this looks like it sucks. I definitely have to do that with mine. Only my face blowers work. My defrost quit working

Started having this problem on mine tonight. This was the most helpful video by far. When you repositioned the gears, what screws, and how loose were they so the gears could overextend without breaking or getting stuck? If you could elaborate on that part a bit more that would be great!

So when I was putting it back together, I tried for 20 minutes to get it back in the perfect spot and then watched some other videos that suggested getting it in anywhere in the arc path it is supposed to travel and then turn the key on and cycle slowly through the zone buttons. I did that and it made some clicking noises but went into place and is still working great. The screws on the gears were all tight so once it worked itself into place I just put everything else back together.

@@bradparmenter8464 awesome thank you so much! did you still have the airbag connected when you did that? Don't want to have one blow up on me😂

I put the air bag and dash cluster in after I was sure all the zones were cycling properly

Typical General Motors design. It is not difficult to make HVAC mode door parts that do not break. It's almost like they designed that gear lever thing to break eventually.
