Ya same I have a 66 coupe race car and all the guys who own all the old muscle cars are very old to we’re they can’t maintain them and all of there secrets about these cars are going to die with them and will be never known
It's a good thing, because with the older generations dying out, us younger folk will be able to afford the classics that went skyrocketed in value due to people buying and selling at Barrett or Mecum. They will be cheaper in the years to come with all the electric car hype. I prefer a gasoline small block V8 two door car. My grandparents passed me down a 1965 Mustang coupe with a 347ci and a factory paint job that includes side scoop stripes, a pincer stripe on the hood, and a secondary colored roof.
I'm a die hard camaro guy myself, I saw you had this mustang and It really inspired me to step into the muscle realm and get out of imports, so I sold my wrx and bought a ratty 1968 camaro. Awesome vids man and nice shifting haha
@Boostin 315, Camaro Girl/Grandma now, here! And to be clear, it's not a 'ratty' 1968 Camaro, it's a SLEEPER! Like the one I had long, long ago! Rusted rear wheel wells, but... 500 HP hidden under the stock hood! At idle, that full lift CAM really got the little boys excited...but not for the right reasons! They thought it was a POS, so I played along as the "Stereotypical Dumb Blonde"...until the light turned green! Hey, I was nice enough to pull over at the next light to wait for them! 😉🤣 Ok, and to collect the money! Best wishes with your new machine! Rock on! 🤘🔥😎💨💨
I've seen plenty of Mustangs, like many other people but I could never picture myself driving them. But yours. Yours is something else, there's something about it I dunno. I can picture myself driving that. I want it.... please? Great vid, love what you're doing. Keep it up

Just take the radiator cap off and count the rows of cooling tubes, front to back. I installed Ford Granada disc brakes on my '65. The Granada spindles bolt right in. Only difficulty was one of the tie rod ends. Neither Mustang or Granada part worked. Took dimensions to a Napa store and they fixed me up. Stops much straighter and much less fade. Sold the spindles and drum brake setup to a guy with a 6 cylinder mustang he put in a V8 and five lug rear axle.

All cool cars have three pedals! One thing to keep in mind about 65-67 Mustangs are the cowl vents. They weren't painted from the factory so rust was a big issue. There are aftermarket plexiglass plates that you can bolt on from the outside when storing your car outside. I kept the useless AM/FM radio in the dash in my 67 because the car was so loud you couldn't hear the radio even if you wanted to. Keep it real! Rear drum brakes are more than adequate for the street. I changed the backing plates and drums from a donor station wagon. They had larger finned drums and wider shoes. Adding rear discs means more add on stuff.
So Cool. Reminds me of my 1st Mustang. It was a 1969 428 SCJ Mach 1. But that engine had been taken out 2 owners before me. It had a 1971 Boss 351 with about 425 HP, and would spin at 8200 RPMs. I paid $3,800 for it in 1983 and sold it for $4,500 one year later to pay for college. It was also a 4-Speed car.
I have an extreme amount of respect for you, knowing that you did all the work. Old school is the way to go. My dream summer project is to find an original Mach 1 and make it look brand spanking new. Love the car and all the work you have done to it. Very nice job!!
Love seeing other younger people with old cars! I bought my ‘65 Mercedes when I was 19, it’s not a muscle car but there’s nothing better than cruising a classic Keep up the good videos man!!
Brother that is one cool car! Glad to see it, and so cool your Dad and you both work on it! The only thing you will EVER regret is IF YOU SELL IT! Trust me @51 and many cars later..miss my first (Black 57 Chevy, 2 door, 283, 4 speed) car the most!!! I am now building a 1968 Mustang Coupe....I want a Trans Am replica/vintage build. Best wishes! GREAT Video.
Nice work!! It really means more when you have token it apart and put it back together. Also the black interior was a nice tutch. She really is beautiful man. Hats off to you.

No rust car just beautiful 289 V-8 3:55 Posi 4 barrel Flowmaster 44 mufflers Hedman Hedders many factory options just great car. I have a 66 coupe project waiting for me after I finish my 89. This is exactly what I want to do with it. Murdered out/ratty, but with good mechanicals and a nice interior. I have the same rims. I think your car is perfect.
That final shot of you driving the Mustang was totally rad. Not many people choose to put the camera there. I don't know, just the way it was shot gave me goosebumps. Killer ride man

You’re living the dream man.. this is the car I’ve wanted since i was a toddler.. doesn’t seem to line up for me yet but hopefully this year i can finally make it happen.. 64-66 is my goal
i just finished my 66 mustang put a atk 302 and rebuilt the c4.. put new quarter panels on, wheel wells gas tank put a b@m mega shifter the car is a blast..
Watching this really made me miss my 66 I had for a short while. I was using mine as a daily driver, but it had some qwerks that took too long to work out, so I ended up getting a Jeep. Sadly, after that the mustang just sat around undriven, and I had to sell it when I moved. I definitely learned that I'd prefer to buy one in a little more original condition though, picking up someone else's project is a real pain.
I had a ton of fun in my 67, back in the late 80's early 90's. Couldn't keep people from running into it. I always liked the Trans Am series race Mustangs. I was always uncorking my headers and pissing off the neighborhood. Now I'm older and have a 68' Spitfire with 1300 cc's of English fury under the hood and I get irritated when a Harley drives by my house.
@@FourSpeedFilms really like the look of your car. Maybe get some factory steel valve covers, clean them up and wrinkle paint them. Just a thought. Also there was a GT350 mod where they lowered the upper front control arm by an inch or so. Supposedly gave better camber or caster or whatever. I pulled my front disks and spindles from a 75' Granada, also had a one inch sway bar that fit. Put some tires on it and auto cross that thing.
I can see why you like the sound of the exhaust , it sounds awesome on your car . My first car was a 80Thunderbird with a built 302 , that car was automatic and would snap a car length in the down shift and roar under the hood . It was a blue car but the awesome engine burnt the hood paint to a purple color , I loved that car . Green is a very good color for that type of car , the whole Steve McQueen Bullitt mustang . Down the road you should think about getting a summer motor , drop it in , in the spring . You would really like the sound of a stroker motor , the boom is very deep , has a big block sound . An awesome show called Engine Masters showed a Stroked Ford small block , I think it was a 351 stroked into a 410 . It made insane power . You could probably just use the parts off your 289 on it . It would run out of breath early , but the torque and acceleration would still be there . It would be over 400 ft lbs of torque at like 2800 rpm , it would burn out in second going down the road . The fastest car in 1970 according to a major mag was the buick gsx 350 horse 510 ft lbs torque . It outran the hemi cuda even tho it had much less horsepower . Wait till your in your in your late 20s tho , horsepower can shorten your life expectancy
Lol..ok i was typing before I watched the hole video, sounds great and some pretty good driving there. If you ever sell it believe me you will regret it, especially if it was ur first car, and that's such great memories you and ur dad working on it together. Anyway be careful driving, that thing sounds awesome!
Funny I was imagining a what I would do with a classic mustang and literally thought of that car down to the color and style in my head then boom this video popped up. Thanks for sharing.
Sweet car man! I love the genuine customization (not bolt on tacky stuff), also the humbleness of the description of all the awesome features. Plus, you are not a douchebag like to many car guys on youtube, good job.
That is a great sounding 'Stang Ben. Love the sound of the Black Widows. The '65-'66 Mustangs are my dream cars. Unrealized dreams as yet and it may not happen. Still you gotta have dreams. I love what you did with the interior because it made a huge difference. Do you have any plans for a repaint. Enjoy your car and drive it like ya stole it!
That's so dope dude, your dad sounds like a great guy for helping you choose and fix it up. A lot more than what can be said for my dad who owes me £10000 meanwhile I have to catch the bus wherever I go, not cool..
Cool car. Thanks for keeping it old school and not putting stupid big wheels and rubber and tires on it. The bias ply’s can actually be more fun than stickier radials. You may not go as fast but they’ll slide around easier and give you plenty of warning before they let go.

Thanks for the spin. Fords rev so nicely. That was cool! Function before form. Keep on wrenching.
Gotta drive your car like it was meant to!
Great videos Way better quality than a lot of the you tubers out there I’m sure you’ll blow up soon with this kind of content, Beautiful mustang BTW
Iddizy Thanks man! And I hope so. Stay tuned for more!
Finally someone that know how to build a mustang....thats badass...
Thanks man!
Dude!! Great video! I'm glad you're getting into classic cars and convincing other young people to do so too. That's great!
Amazing project car! I really like it. Thank you for the video.
Thank you!
This video is amazing 👌🏼 and that Mustang is fantastic 🔥 the back seat footage was hella dope
It looks like what someone with a low budget would do in the 70s to their early Stang. Nicely done.
Your wheel and tire combo are on point!!
sparkyguy277 Thanks man! I just want mags
Love it! I have a 68' with a 289, just had it rebuilt. I have disc brakes up front too, 4 wheel drums aren't to much fun lol. Really badass car.
Sweet car man! I love the genuine customization (not bolt on tacky stuff), also the humbleness of the description of all the awesome features. Plus, you are not a douchebag like to many car guys on youtube, good job.
I appreciate it!
Great editing!! Never lost interest, keep it up!
The future is unwritten Much appreciated, thanks!
Awesome video. Great story and nice to see the stang get a bit of a thrash !
Thanks!
That driving clip at the end reminds me of Gone in Sixty Seconds.
Dude, just fuck yes!! Sweet car, good stories, punk rock exactly. I got a 73 charger, you're inspiring me to start a charger channel! Sick
Love your car and your channel. Way to go, kid! You rock👏👏
Great job 👍 that's how you drive a mustang!!! I love the fact that you built it with your dad!!! Way cool 😎
Thanks!
That old 289 sounds beastly mate.
That's so dope dude, your dad sounds like a great guy for helping you choose and fix it up. A lot more than what can be said for my dad who owes me £10000 meanwhile I have to catch the bus wherever I go, not cool..
Very cool vid dude ! Its great to see a young guy that knows how to appreciate old cars and can actually drive a manual! Cool car
Thanks!
The video production quality was very good. I love your car as well dude.
Much appreciated!
Such an awesome car. Plan to start saving for one after I finish repairing my wrx
Nice video Bro! Amazing car, and nice spirit of puting your hands on it!
Thats it.....I HAVE to get another Mustang. Great film, thankyou
Hell yeah! Thanks!
Ya got the ''period perfect'' wheels on it , just like mine !!!
Just came across this video...nice story and build! Please make more cruising footage of this beauty!! greeting from BR
Thanks and will do!
Good on ya Dad!
Like that ya keepin it period.
Sam Day Thanks man🏁
One of the best videos on TH-cam!
Thanks..
T K O Much appreciated!!!
Cool car. Thanks for keeping it old school and not putting stupid big wheels and rubber and tires on it. The bias ply’s can actually be more fun than stickier radials. You may not go as fast but they’ll slide around easier and give you plenty of warning before they let go.
Nice!! I have a 1994 Mustang Convertible!
