If you have the means and a place to store it, hang on to your first car. Trust me, later on in life you'll be searching high and low for it or one just like it. Happens to all car guys sooner or later. Good to see you back.
No doubt, don’t sell it. It took me 34 years to get my high school 67 mustang back. But I have it now and it’s not for sale. I enjoy your videos keep up the good work. 👍👍
Ben never let this car go. I’m lucky to still have my first. It’s a 1970 Mach1, got it in 1988 during my sophomore year as well. I have friends that would kill to have their first back.
Hi Ben, This is your biggest French fan here. I’ve commented on this channel a few times already. I had a 95 Mustang GTS (stripped down GT) about 14 years ago when I lived in Puerto and had to sell it. 67 Fastbacks have been my all time dream cars. But I don’t necessarily have that kind of money. I kept watching your videos religiously as your Mustang represents what I could and would like to do with mine. And this week I bought the cheapest (and probably roughest) 67 Coupe 289 2 barrel available in France. The body is quite sound. Engine is strong. Paint and interior are rough. No options whatsoever. Plain Jane 2 barrel. But it is manual (3speed). It’s important as you can’t swap from 6 to 8 or from auto to manual here in FR. All in all, I wanted to thank you for your inspiration and also wanted to encourage you to keep going with your build. Take care!
Glad to see you're still out there working on the stang. Whatever you do going forward, don't sell that car. Keep it while you're working on the new project. Older you will thank younger you.
It wasn't all that long ago that I was your age and cars like that could be bought for about $500. Well, I'm 55 now (Today as a matter of fact) and my advise to you is KEEP THAT CAR! It will be worth a ton of money later in your life. Nice ride!
I bought my 1st 69 coupe in high-school for 1600. The second one I got with the engine pulled out for 500. Then got my friend a 67 no engine for 400. Good Ole days. I'm 41 now and still have my 69coupe. Use to drive it with mu kids in car seats. So fun.
My dad passed away last year and I rolled the 64.5 mustang out to restore it. Hasn’t run in 35 years and I got it running and driving! Replaced whole fuel system carb and rear end
Really got excited when I got the notification that you were back with a new video. Nice to hear you still have the Mustang and it's doing well and your still enjoying it. From the outro of the video I'm not sure if we'll see see you soon or not. I hope it's soon. Miss seeing and hearing about your life, your dad and grandpa's antics. You also brought us to some great car shows that we all miss. Hope to see you back again soon.
Great to see a new video from you Ben. Now you have the stang dialled in just drive it and enjoy the fruits of your labour. Would be a shame to sell it being your first car, you may regret it one day🤔
Watched all your videos, good work. Back in 1975 my first car was 65 Mustang, notch-back similar to yours (paid only $250... lawn mowing earnings). As a dirt-bike riding teenager with a heavy-petal-foot... I quickly blew-out the main-bearing of the tired-old...leaky 298. The first owner was a US military pilot (like I later became)... so 2 lead-foots drove that engine into the ground. In 1975 I put a "new" 302 Mercury Cruiser boat engine which was still on the factory skid... but salvaged/ damaged in transit... only $300 new... long story... I digress. Hence, I like your videos. I like the wheels on your 65 (those are correct, approved in my book). Love all the sleeper-mods work you have done to it. Request; would love to see you do a low-budget paint job the 65 in a similar green... in a matt/satin finish. I found your color on a different car... Google these words... " Stone Green Pearl Metal Satin ". I think that's the right "hue" you have now... and it works. Again... just a working-man's affordable paint job.
guy at my garage said a nice upgrade for the mustang is to drill some rectangles in the tail light housing, put some rectangle LED's in there. looked realy great on his car im doing it for mine aswell
Love the car man! I picked up a 65 Mustang project car in November and plan on incorporating a lot of things you did into mine! Can't wait to get it on the road!!!
My son had a supercharged NSX and he went through three complete suspension setups before he finally was happy. The second one even had a switch panel in the glove box to adjust the ride on the fly. Glad to see you back.
Although not my first car, I still own my 93 Calypso notchback I bought in 1995 right after college. was 10K then, 35k miles on it. been through a lot, now setup for oepn track with a Griggs Racing and Maximum Motorsports stuff and a nice 331. it's been through a lot, as have I. I'm glad I kept it, strange how attached we get to things as well as people(and pets!). I vote keep it if you can. If you cannot, the memories will grow sweeter with time. you will be able to move to something else but you wont replace it.
I was guessing you were in witness protection...... Small block Fords sound different and so good to me personally I wouldn't feel the need to go more modern. No matter what you do next for a project though, the good news is a rust free, great running 65-66 will bring a a pretty penny. Probably hard to hurt the value much unless you go crazy LOL.
This is cool to see an LB based company. I have a 69 Mach 1 and I live in Bixby Knolls in LB, so I need to go see these guys. Hey I've been going to Mustang Country in Paramount for repairs and upgrades. You have to check these guys out. They are the real deal classic Mustang shop.
Thanks for the 'Check In'. The Rear Shock install reminded me of something I have wanted to do to the Torino for a long long time. I want to get the rear top mounts out of the car body. Access from inside the trunk is extra hard because I have a Fuel Cell. I bought the basics (a weld in Cross Bar and Tabs) and have just never finished pursuing if my idea is correct.
I put an ACE’s killshot efi on my sons ‘67 mustang 289 and it made a night and day diffrence…were currently building an aluminum headed roller cam 302 to replace the tired 289 in his car….beauty of it is we can simply swap over the efi from the 289 to the 302 when its time to do the swap….until then were gonna run that 200hp 289 into the dirt!!!
Sounds nice. Here in New Zealand . I had a 68 notchback . [ org 289 cui ] some one here all ready put a 69 302 cui with c4 trans. i had the trans shift kitted here. also found out the valve body had larger vac holes drilled. My Auto trans guy told me. Thats what Mopar did in there torque flites . from factory. i did put a 8inch back in. as a borg warner was install. put a 4 barrel unit on the engine. which i added . i could cruise at 50mph. put my foot down, kicks down and spin those tyers . Miss that beast though. some else owns it now
Glad too hear u was on, gotta luv all those companys that really helped the 65 out, hope gramps an pop are doing well, did pop ever sell the Ford ?? Keep safe untill next time
Id say reach out to any paint shops to see if theyd do the paint for you. Lastly as a big project see if you secure a bigger engine for it. Then youd really have the ultimate.
love the content man! did Aldan happened to tell you the settings they adjusted the coilovers and rear shocks to? i have all around aldans on my 66 mustang and cant figure it out. Thanks!
Hey man, Good to see you again. It has indeed been a while but it's cool to know that you're doing alright and still have your Mustang. It's also nice to see that it's still being ugraded and updated little by little, if you keep going like that, it'll be such a epic and outstanding machine after some time.
I like the upgrades you made. I still prefer the carburator for my 68 Mustang but this is only because I do not otherwise. After stroking the motor, the car had from one moment to the other about 40 hp more than previously. I did not change the rear axle so it is pretty fast on the first yards after the traffic light turns green. 😀 Now it is more a cruiser than it was before, and I like that. I am completely happy with the magna flow exhaust I put on her.
Personally, I'd like to see you put a carby back on the 302 and use Thunderhead289's Carb Cheater instead. I reckon it's better, it solves the problems of carbies being a static metering unit while keeping the sound, feel/tactile experience, etc. Still has a rev limiter, ignition lock, data logging and requires no wires to pass through the firewall. 4 wires and 2 vacuum hoses plugged into the supplied spacer. I'm sure you've seen Luke's lawn mower carb & skyram intake videos haha!
Buy one of the Novas in your B-roll. :) The Nova is the perfect contrast to that Mustang without the high cost of a first or second gen Camaro. As a SoCal kid myself I daily drove my first Nova for 15 years. (Granada Hills) Now as a 40 year old I have another Nova and a Mustang and it remarkable how each car gives me joy in different ways. My current mustang is a Shelby GT500 but I hope to sell it and buy another '68 to build. Before I bought the Shelby, I had a '68 Mustang with a 347 and a 5 speed. :) All we need in life for happiness is a good family, a reliable car and two project cars. :) G/L Thanks for the videos.
Damn she sounds nice! If you want to go further...get another project! The Mustang will never be quite finished but I think it's true spirit is it's current form!
Yeah Buddy, hang on to it. Just like your dad’s cars. I regret selling my 69 olds cutlass that my dad gave me. But college was important back then. Searching high and low for a good one. Love your vids. Hope to see more. 😊
Great to see you back my guy. I love that car and your journey with it as well. Please keep prioritizing your personal life and we'll see you when you've got something to show us.👊
Great to see you back Ben! You do a really awesome job when you do put something out! I would love to see like an update on the Burbank Choppers and what they are driving now and what’s going on with them.😎👍
If you have the means and a place to store it, hang on to your first car. Trust me, later on in life you'll be searching high and low for it or one just like it. Happens to all car guys sooner or later. Good to see you back.
Thank you!
ABSOLUTELY...
never part with this car. You'd always regret it.
BTDT
That is so true. I had a '65 Mustang convertible 4 spd and green just like this car, and that is my dream car to have back!
No doubt, don’t sell it. It took me 34 years to get my high school 67 mustang back. But I have it now and it’s not for sale. I enjoy your videos keep up the good work. 👍👍

Duuuuude!!!! About time you put out a new video! Glad to see ya back at it!!!
I appreciate the support!

Ben, we always appreciate your videos! Thanks for putting one up for us. The Stang is looking good!
Thanks!
In the middle of a v8 swap with my 64.5 coupe… videos of your car keep me motivated!
That is awesome!
Glad to see 4 Speed Films back!
I've loved your videos from day 1, and you make it look like so much fun to do the old school "Hot Rodding" again. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the update. Your Mustang sounds great! Don't give up on her, it's a great build with plenty more to go.
It’s so good to see another video Ben. Been wondering how the Mustang has been
Thanks for watching!

That's the plan!
Glad to see you and the Mustang back in business Ben.
Thanks!
How much have you invested into the car? Would be awesome to see a price break video of your costs
I had the fitech . Stick to carburetor.
I send it back to fitech, I told them to stick it up their wazzuu!!!
Darn!
Good to see a new video from you Ben. Your videos got me into american cars. Just got myself a old pontiac.
Greetings from Denmark
Nice 👍

I personally would give it a paintjob, the way it looks , gives it a very specific character!
Thanks for watching!
Always love to see the mustang back out!! Just glad to see your out and about and happy :)

The car looks and sounds great, you're back from a much needed break, and you say there might be a new project? Let's go!!!
Thanks for watching!

Love your content.

Hi was wondering the Size tires your Running on front and Back. Great video happy to see you again.
I have a whole video on them!
Been missing updates on the stang so it’s great to finally get a new video!
Thanks for watching
I bought into Alden American after watching your video. Handles great. More travel in rear end would definitely improve the rear.
Awesome! You might have to call about the new shocks. I’m not sure if they are on the website
Glad your ok and back on there ,you do make very good videos ! Good luck Ben
Thank you!

Thanks for the support!
I don’t want any of that high tech fuel systems. I’m still running with the original Holley List 4555 780 Holley in my 70 Z/28 4-spd. It works.😅
Nice!
Good to see that you are doing well!
Hey, thanks!
Glad to see you back making content.
Thanks
Always enjoy your videos, cool to see a new one! Car sounds amazing!
