I absolutely think the owner was happy with the result. She didn't scream for joy but listen to the words she chose to express herself. I have a grown up child who is, what I call, "micro expressive", so I totally see this lady being so impressed and delighted. Good job, Monica and Jason!
She's not "micro expressive", she's just reacting like a normal human. All those other people screaming at the reveal feel like they're just doing an act, like they think they're supposed to scream. Noone reacts that way IRL.
Amazing what can be done in just one weekend but you need to remember one thing and this is tools and how many people working on the project in this weekend ... if you are just one , it will take you more than just one weekend even if it just a simple build. here they have all the tools and everything they need in order to complete it on time.... anyway I love the weekender and it inspire me everytime....
OMG! I couldn’t agree more about that cookie cutter contractor new build look! It is such a consistent look that has no personality in regards to decor. This bathroom makeover is gorgeous! I love the antique sheek design of the wallpaper and wainscoting. It is so elegant! The color scheme is absolutely manageable in this large of a space. Bravo! 👏🏽
My guess is about $2500 (labor not included) $1200 sink $200 faucets $200 beadboard $100 paint $200-400 medicine cabinets with mirrors $250 nails, glue, brushes, pluming material, drywall, screws, electrical stuff, etc $200-500 decor, rugs, hooks, new towels $120 new light fixtures +labor (on the lower end) $500 sink install+pluming $150 drywall repair $150 paint labor $350 beadboard install, including baseboards and trims $50-$100 per light fixture install $75-$100 per hour any other electrical work $150 other details ( mirrors and hardware install)
I love everything about this bathroom. And when I saw how the bath caddy was being put together I literally pulled out my tools and started looking through to see if I had a piece of nice wood wide enough to do that. I am making one of those next weekend 😯
Watching you tear off each piece, and put it back together in a way that everything becomes so harmonious, is just amazing. I really love watching your videos. Love and respect from the Philippines ❤️
We bought a house with an all beige bath. I had to go looking for this episode! You did such an amazing job on this! The bathroom currently has wall paper that is not bad but it reminds me of the newer Uhaul building paint scheme. No one should refer to their master bath as the Uhaul bath. Thank you for some fantastic color inspiration!
Okay so I found this series from 8 Passengers and since then I have watched every. single. episode. I about leaped out of my seat when I saw a new one was uploaded! I seriously LOVE the Weekender. I’ve told pretty much everyone I know about how great it is in the last week 😂😂🙌🏼🙌🏼
THIS WAS AN AMAZING TRANSFORMATION!!!. IT GAVE ME A GREAT IDEA TO DO FOR MY RESTROOMS.THEIR SMALL AND I NEED MAKEOVERS ON BOTH. YOU DID AN AMAZING JOB...
The vanity mirror and the wallpaper makes a huge difference. I also like the cross hook where the towel was hung. So perfect. And the vase to with round leaves. So beautiful 😍
I love the bath style. Its elegant, and fancy without over doing it. Too much of one colour is not always the best, but some mixture is great. Great job Monica and Jason and the homeowner.
Very clever way to cover up so much of the cream tile with the wainscotting. I wasn't sure about the color either but the wall paper tied it all together. This should be an HGTV show for sure. Thanks for all the wonderful ideas.
@@mulliganstew72 no, they only demoed the top band of tiles because some of that tile stuck out from the wall and she needed a flat surface. They filled that in with drywall before applying the wainscoting. You can see the beige tile still intact and being covered in the video.
I didn't hate the before, and as a renter don't hate it is a good thing lol, I've rented in some pretty awfully coloured homes, people don't paint their rentals in neutral colours very often anymore. 😣 However I really love how the end result brought the cream she hated to a level she could live with without changing all the tiles, it was a really smart way to update it! I like the end result, and I think the homeowner did too, and that's what matters. Great job Monica!
I love this sooooo much!!! I love those circle medicine cabinet mirrors!! Love that wallpaper as well!! I would eventually change the flooring tho and that beige tile in the shower and tub area. I think that make over would just look soooo fab with white subway tile, with grey grout!!! Love it!!
Unquestionably, nice job Monica, I'm in-love with the wainscoting. With that said, I'm tackling a project with wainscoting, utilizing it for my ceiling instead of getting rid of the popcorn ceiling the conventional way I'll cover it with the wainscoting; this way I don't have to deal with the awful mess of the popcorn when it's removed. Monica you have inspired me once again great job as usual...Abrazos y OLE~
That vanity is everything! I love that its raised off the floor & has shelves & especially the cubby drawers. I fantasize about double sinks with 2 mirrors & you did that with 2 cabinets! Also love the wallpaper, rug, shelf & hooks!😍😍😍😍😍😍
I really like this finished project. The homeowner didn't act very happy or greatful, but I wonder if this is just her personality. I am sure she likes it though, because Monica have them put together a pintress page to get an idea of what the homeowner would like that's how she "gets into their heads". Honestly, marked improvements 👍👍. Keep it coming Monica and Lowe's
The wallpaper is beautiful until you have to take it down. No matter how pretty, just don’t go there. This is from someone who used to wallpaper everything. Now I run screaming away. 😁
I worked in a hardware store and I remember a lot of handymen we would recommend to people really didn't want to take the job when customers were looking for someone to do the work. 😂😂😂
Converting a van box truck 🚚 to a tiny home on wheels. Love your ideas and styles...now I just need to make sure furniture, wall build outs, fixtures are all durable to take "on the road".
I am so happy the weekender is back. Great job, Monica! Love the vanity, wainscoting, mirrors and I can't believe I'm saying this the wallpaper also. Swore I would never use wallpaper in a bathroom again. Fantastic job!
Monica I hope the weekender never comes to an end. I love the way you made the colors work in this bathroom. I thought is was a really nice bathroom but the owner didn’t like it. The transformation is amazing absolutely love it.
Oooooh this is definitely my style! I love the old and new vibe. Looks antique and vintage but not too outdated. I liked the before, but much preferred the after!
I was worried about tying the cream into anything. It is awesome and room to lift any color she wants, plus, how did you know she'd go for vintage? I expected or felt she'd want black and white subway tile. Talented girl for sure.
I love watching these videos, I just have never had positive experiences with this store. I wish she could be at all the stores. Great ideas, great work ethic. She never gets so caught up that she loses the big picture.
Beautiful, so classy and perfectly marries the style and sophistication of the owner and the easiest way to accomplish a total new look and feel with innovative products!
Love this! What a GREAT solution to unwanted tile with not a ton of labor. I wish you would have shown tips and tricks to cut around the toilet plumbing. That's the tricky part! Wallpaper is awesome. Fantastic transformation!
For a weekend reno project hey bravo zulu... like the wallpaper, new sink area, mirrors and the bead board. Definitely an improvement without a doubt. Removing the small border tile was key. Great job♡♡♡
I love these stoic people who are so calm and discuss things rationally. (Cara)! I would have been jumping up and down and acting like a goofball! Lovely way to pull everything together! So far this is my fav video!
I love everything but I wish they did a peel and stick tile or something on the floor as well. Also I discovered there is a paint that can be used on bathroom tiles and fixtures. Regardless, this was an amazing makeover. The wainscoting and vintage wallpaper is totally my style. ❤️❤️
I’m not crazy about the cream either and I would have been so depressed with that contractor style too. She did a GREAT job of fixing that cream overload! So cute! Not a huge wallpaper fan, but this one is so pretty.
I really love that wallpaper, but then, I'm a sucker for traditional looks. Perfect way to update and work with items you can't change (tile on walls and flooring).
I have a very 80's beige builder grade bathroom, and I think the transformation is amazing and turned out beautifully! This is the kind of renovation I could see myself tackling. I love, love, love the wallpaper - but would be a little apprehensive about putting wallpaper in a bathroom again (my bathroom currently has wallpaper) as the seams tend to curl and come away from the wall due to the moisture level. I also love the square under mount sinks, oval mirrors and the black vanity!
yeah maybe they could've done the exact same pattern and aged look with paint and a stencil and completely avoid the wallpaper. That would be cool. But maybe wallpaper adhesive/wallpaper has gotten better and less susceptible to humidity? I've heard people say that it has, so who knows lol
Probably one of my favorite renovations you have done so far! Still don't like the cream in the shower, if I was the homeowner, I would have had that redone. But, I love that wallpaper & wainscoting ... just the look I am after for my space!
I love this! A cheapie temporary fix would have been simply painting the walls and the vanity that deep grey color. I like to think of how you can break down transformations like this for the person who may be a little afraid of change and needs to dip their toes in the water before they invest in wallpaper, new vanity, labor, etc.
You can always coat the wood with a great sealer. If water lands on it, it wont penetrate the wood youll only see little bubbles of water on top of the wood.
I don’t know if she used a vinyl paper but they make wallpaper now that is removable with one pull. I totally used to wallpaper everything in the day and spent weeks removing it. I told myself never again until they came out with this new stuff. Game changer!
I really love the look of the end result, emphasis on 'look'. It looks great, but a) the humidity/steam from showers and baths will eventually weaken the glue behind the wainscoting and make it warp since it's cheap pressboard; b) same thing for the wallpaper. Wallpaper, even glossy wallpaper, is porous; ergo, moisture will eventually damage it. The adhesive will eventually weaken and the wallpaper will start peeling off in certain areas. But if you're going for just pure aesthetic with no regard for longevity, then this was a home run!
Wow! I JUST discovered you! I've been binge watching this show! This one is my favorite so far...so "me!" Do you ever come to Idaho??!! This is what the world needs to link the impossible to possible thanks so much, keep going!
I absolutely think the owner was happy with the result. She didn't scream for joy but listen to the words she chose to express herself. I have a grown up child who is, what I call, "micro expressive", so I totally see this lady being so impressed and delighted. Good job, Monica and Jason!

That wall paper is gorgeous! I love how it was the starting point for everything and how it tied everything together so well.
Love the vanity and the medicine cabinet mirrors. This is my most favorite transformation.

Beautiful Wisconsin and elaborate Damask wall paper- love love love!
I wish you would also cover the cost of doing these projects. While an exact pricing would be awesome, I wouldn't mind a ballpark number either.
ballpark in material, not including labor is around 1500.00... most expensive thing was the wall paper.
Jesse Castro mind you, the show is sponsored/subsidized. Estimates would be underpriced
My guess is about $2500 (labor not included)
$1200 sink
$200 faucets
$200 beadboard
$100 paint
$200-400 medicine cabinets with mirrors
$250 nails, glue, brushes, pluming material, drywall, screws, electrical stuff, etc
$200-500 decor, rugs, hooks, new towels
$120 new light fixtures
+labor (on the lower end)
$500 sink install+pluming
$150 drywall repair
$150 paint labor
$350 beadboard install, including baseboards and trims
$50-$100 per light fixture install
$75-$100 per hour any other electrical work
$150 other details ( mirrors and hardware install)
This is the most accurate estimation i have seen, the double sink vanity runs about 1600$ on average.

Thanks Lowes.
This gal taught us! This was great.
I love everything about this bathroom. And when I saw how the bath caddy was being put together I literally pulled out my tools and started looking through to see if I had a piece of nice wood wide enough to do that. I am making one of those next weekend 😯
I agree: the wallpaper ties everything together. Great job!
Watching you tear off each piece, and put it back together in a way that everything becomes so harmonious, is just amazing. I really love watching your videos. Love and respect from the Philippines ❤️
Classics pull off a new look mostly by your use of color.... absolutely beautiful!!!!

Just saw this episode and I’m amazed at how much personality you brought into this space - the wallpaper was a game changer!
I wish you would provide a link to the products you used. This bathroom is stunning!
You truly made a brilliant choice on how to update this bathroom without spending money for all new fixtures. Well done!
I used to always think wallpaper old fashioned.. But I kinda really love this pattern and it totally goes with the panels
I think this is my favorite Weekender episode. I also have a bathroom that is pretty, but not my style. This is absolutely gorgeous!
Very clever using the wallpaper to make those old tiles work with the updates.
THIS WAS AN AMAZING TRANSFORMATION!!!. IT GAVE ME A GREAT IDEA TO DO FOR MY RESTROOMS.THEIR SMALL AND I NEED MAKEOVERS ON BOTH. YOU DID AN AMAZING JOB...
I have been binge watching this series since I found it

Thanks Doriana! And yes, rental decor is definitely a different ballgame. Cara owned this house, so we could go a little hog wild! :)
It was a great bathroom for practicality. Easy to clean. Not falling apart. That colour palette though. Boring af.
I thought it was funny that the homeowner hated the beige, but she was the one who painted the walls beige. 🤷♀️
LOVE the wallpaper. It was the perfect mix of color and design to pull the room together!
I love this sooooo much!!! I love those circle medicine cabinet mirrors!! Love that wallpaper as well!! I would eventually change the flooring tho and that beige tile in the shower and tub area. I think that make over would just look soooo fab with white subway tile, with grey grout!!! Love it!!
Agreed! We'd just need a few more weekends for those projects. lol!
Was wondering if you can paint that tile? Or whitewash it? Cause the yellow tones takes away from the end result.
Amazing transformation! I love the toile? wallpaper. It makes the entire room shine. Colors are beautiful. Lucky lady!

Creative and lovely! The wallpaper definitely pulls it together to give it a modern and eclectic feel.

If you wall is prepared properly the wallpaper will come down effortlessly. Owner of 14 different homes thru the years!
Monica you did an amazing job! Bathroom looks gorgeous! I love everything you guys did! Thank you for sharing your wonderful ideas.👍👏💖💖💖💖
I too love the wainscoting, the new vanity and the wallpaper, especially the design of the wallpaper!!
Fabulous job Monica 👍
Converting a van box truck 🚚 to a tiny home on wheels. Love your ideas and styles...now I just need to make sure furniture, wall build outs, fixtures are all durable to take "on the road".

Monica I hope the weekender never comes to an end. I love the way you made the colors work in this bathroom. I thought is was a really nice bathroom but the owner didn’t like it. The transformation is amazing absolutely love it.
The little bit of cream really complimented the new design and colors, great job.
love love love that vanity area, esp the wallpaper and mirrors .
Wow, incredible change. So much for the better. Lucky lady! Great job Monica!
I love this makeover - all that cream tile had a yellowish cast to it that I hated. Now, everything makes sense & the whole room looks fab!
Oooooh this is definitely my style! I love the old and new vibe. Looks antique and vintage but not too outdated. I liked the before, but much preferred the after!

OMG - what a transformation! I love the way it turned out.

This transformation is simply amazing! The colors and materials used made the transformation a truly inspiring epic!
I love the mirror medicine cabinets- Nice, stylish solution
Love love love the entire project but the wall paper is Beautiful
So happy to see a new episode of The Weekender!! Monica always takes it beyond basic and boring to something fabulous.
I really loved loved the wall paper looks so sofisticated...
With designs like this we understand why wallpaper is making a comeback!
I really love that wallpaper, but then, I'm a sucker for traditional looks. Perfect way to update and work with items you can't change (tile on walls and flooring).
Gorgeous! I love the navy blue. Never thought I would like wallpaper.
love the bronze faucet, and the customize wood for the wine glass and books.

Would love to have you come to my home...weekender project of your choice! Bathroom looks amazing. LOVE the wallpaper.

I LOVE it !!!.....wallpaper really binds it all together......so for darker colours in the bathroom....great job!
Probably one of my favorite renovations you have done so far! Still don't like the cream in the shower, if I was the homeowner, I would have had that redone. But, I love that wallpaper & wainscoting ... just the look I am after for my space!
Beautiful!! I'm a fan of your videos, love the wallpaper and the wainscoting, the grey paint, it's luxury! Another awesome project (or 5!)
I love this! A cheapie temporary fix would have been simply painting the walls and the vanity that deep grey color. I like to think of how you can break down transformations like this for the person who may be a little afraid of change and needs to dip their toes in the water before they invest in wallpaper, new vanity, labor, etc.
This is totally gorgeous in every way! LOVE the vanity and the wainscotting!
Once again you nailed it love the wall paper and wings coating
So nice. Looks like a different space!
I LOVE this bathroom...everything about it!!!
Love every inch of the change.
They took tile which is cleanable in a bathroom and replaced it with a cheaper material that's harder to clean and wouldn't do as well in humidity.
Jeff Pagan yeah, but it does look a lot nicer.
Sometimes fashion isn’t practical. Sometimes an upgrade on a budget gives a better frame of mind.
I agree with the humidity issue she might have. A wood panel near the bathtub, seriously! I like the previous look better.
They make waterproof wainscoting. I have it my kitchen, it's great. Also paintable.
You can always coat the wood with a great sealer. If water lands on it, it wont penetrate the wood youll only see little bubbles of water on top of the wood.
Beautiful! Totally inspiring me to paint my bathroom cabinet blue too!
Love it! You did a fabulous job! The transformation is unbelievable!
Gorgeous! Absolutely love the wallpaper! Love the vanity, the faucets, everything!
You did a beautiful job. Transformed the bathroom in a weekend was amazing. Loved everything you did.
I don’t know if she used a vinyl paper but they make wallpaper now that is removable with one pull. I totally used to wallpaper everything in the day and spent weeks removing it. I told myself never again until they came out with this new stuff. Game changer!
Love this transformation! That vanity is amazing, the wainscoting, and the bath caddy are favorite elements :-D
I like this bathroom better than the last one. Great job, thanks for sharing :) :) :)
Perfect!! The wallpaper tied everything in nicely.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE WHAT YOU DID TO THIS BATHROOM!!!
You are amazing Monica! I have enjoyed watching all of your makeovers. Simply.amazing.projects.and.outcomes!
Wow! I JUST discovered you! I've been binge watching this show! This one is my favorite so far...so "me!" Do you ever come to Idaho??!! This is what the world needs to link the impossible to possible thanks so much, keep going!
Hello Monica! From now on I will watch every videos of you that I missed! 😊
