    Morning Stu, l applied a ceramic coating on my 2014 Street Triple 675R a couple of years ago...when finished the bike looked like it had just arrived from the showroom..The Red fuel tank, which is a major 'shiny bit' of a motorcycle looked so deep you could've dived into it...Living in Spain means l don't have the same problem with wet, damp conditions. Paint damage from ultraviolet light is problematic though. However, any product that keeps your pride and joy looking like new has my vote. ..Good Ceramic coating correctly applied are definitely worth it.....

    I’m impressed that you could give your bike a good clean AND help with the fencing at the same time WoW,,,, Multitasking!! I tried it once and ended up with a migraine!! never again,,,,

    Tip! Rubbing Alcohol/distilled water mixed 50/50 works really well for a final prep before ceramic coating. Use in a spray bottle.

    Great video, was always a bit sceptical of these coatings, someone got me a small kit of AutoBrite stuff, for a budget option I have been using their Ceramic Infused Shampoo, which has worked very well to keep the paintwork in great condition.

    Following your last video. I bought a few AutoBrite products. Pleasingly the Ceramic Magiseal appears to work, with water beading and running off easily, it was easy to apply even with a trigger bottle. The Decon shampoo is a heavy duty shampoo. The Lite is not a bad price compared with getting a professional in to coat your car/bike. One of my cars was done, I believe it cost £300.

    I know you really look after it, but impressed with how well the finish is lasting on the 350, all the fasteners survived the winter storage and look good.

    I be definitely looking into the Auto Brite products, uncle Stu! I find it extra reassuring to have it promoted by a grumpy Yorkshire man, because that crowd that is happy and cheery all the time - I don't trust them - there's definitely something dodgy going on behind those wide-eyed smiles!😆

    I’m thinking about doing a couple videos for my channel where I use your cleaning method. I just finished a ball busting 1800 mile round trip on the Interceptor (in 4 days ending with 800 miles in one day) with roughly a hundred miles of me and my bike running through a torrential downpour. Fortunately I had just given it the Full Fillingham with the dressings and such so it should wash clean pretty easily. I’ll credit you, being as people are always in your comments accusing you of washing a clean motorcycle. Nothing that I could have done would have kept her sparkly after that. Frankly I should have stopped for the night. I’ll probably just make them and see how they turn out. Long form videos are hard to make and my channel is mostly shorts content. But if they turn out, I will post them and tag you.

    Question, will you be using it on the other bikes?

  • @BlakesPipes
    @BlakesPipes ปีที่แล้ว

    Great information, I buy and keep items until they become unwilling to work any more. My 2000 dodge dakota is my proof. Thank you for the input, you are making me wash the bike, but it will take 4 times longer to perform as left leg still doesn't want to work at this time.

    Ceramics have come along way, prep is vital...IPA wipedown first.
    You can get metal ceramic as well now.
    We test waxes on Detailingworld...
    Looking clean, I use a mini rotary or DA to get all scratches out of paint.

    Interesting stuff! Cleaning a bike is a pleasure, the car, not so much. Alloy car wheels suffer from brake dust erosion if it's not removed regularly. This might help perhaps!

    Great video Stu. I'm not sure how relevant this product would be to mat/eggshell finished paintwork though, such as on a Battle Green bike or similar. It certainly looks fantastic on your 350. Red paintwork can be a little problematic long term so I've heard and seen, so hopefully there's some protection in the product to help with this....

    I used a ceramic coating on one of my motorcycles several years ago - I don't recall the brand - but it left a horrible, gritty coating over all the paint work that was very hard to remove. Since then, I have sworn off all these "wonder coatings" and just stick to a basic cleaner and wax.

    • @samsara3694
      @samsara3694 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will do that if either you don't remove all containments off surfaces and/or you have applied it incorrectly (either have missed spots by not applying enough product) and/or left it on too long before buffing off. The consumer versions really are a breeze to use but you do have to follow the instructions.

    I've been using ceramic coatings for a few years now, and they aren't as they seem to appear" to good to be true" they actually work very effectively, however you do need to be careful with your washing products, they need to be zero pH or your just going to wash it all off!!
