As a retired autobody man myself 😅 i remember when i started in the business back in 1978 the Lincoln Mercury dealership we did all their work, was selling an auto paint sealant ( i think it was called polyglycoat) as a permanent wax. What a nightmare it was to get off the paint!!! 😢. My first job i ever did was to wet sand the fish eyes out of a black Lincoln continental. 2 days of sanding in the Florida sun! I should have gotten sun poisoning 🙃. After I was done and showed up the next morning, my boss knew that I was going to be an autobody man for life!😂😂😂

I’ve used this for a couple of years now and certainly is magic! Brought life back into my neglected flat white van which amazes me every time. Wouldn’t be without it now 😀

I put Ceramic Coatings on my new bike 3 years ago when I bought it. Matte coating on the matte paint and gloss coating on the gloss paint. It was the first time I had done this (and it was expensive). The coating is excellent, and, _on the gloss,_ you can use waxes. 3 years and 12,000 miles later the coating is still working like day one with the water beading on the surface in most areas...
If you are going to apply a Ceramic Coating, and I strongly recommend that you do, _make sure the paint surface is spotless and repair (polish out) any scratches _*_before applying_* as the ceramic coating *_will_* seal in any blemishes.
The coating where your clothes rub against the paint, does rub off after about 6 months. The problem is you then have to use a polishing compound of some sort on the affected area before thoroughly cleaning it and re-applying the ceramic coating.
I wouldn't be too worried about repainting, if you need to have the paint refinished, a light sanding with something like 2000 grit wet and dry or a cutting compound would probably remove the coating in preparation for repainting.

Interesting you talk about Autoglym Polar Seal, I was advised by Autoglym NOT to use it on motorcycles because of the high silicon content.

Fair review. Similar product, that's been around for years, is Gyeon Wet Coat. The downside with these type of ceramic coats is the shininess level, which is lower than other products. I tend to use them as quick and easy coats for winter use.
Currently on offer at Halfords for around £17ish just for this Bank Holiday weekend. (£15 for trade card holders which is a steal!)
I'm a sucker for this sort of stuff, I have shelves of cleaning gloop, but this does look good. Ordered the Decon shampoo and the Magiseal.
Hi Stu! I had my speed triple lacquered, professionally! It had been ceramic coated. They said they would never paint another ceramic coated vehicle again, as it was an absolute nightmare to remove! 😊

I am more tight fisted than you neighbour I use ceramic polish on my bike and on my house double glazed windows so I don’t have to pay a window cleaner to clean my windows, they are now almost self cleaning and the rain just runs off. Your product videos are great.
I love Carnuba wax on paint looks good & smells nice too.

Hi Stuart, I have been using Auto Finesse Ceramic foam on my T5 for a couple of years as a top up for a Kenzo ceramic coat. This works pretty well, but does not have the longevity that Magiseal appears to have. I have used Gtechniq Crystal Serum on one of my bikes and this is excellent and very therapeutic to apply!

Hello Stuart, with just one or two exceptions I'm almost exclusively using AD products now for the bike and car They work and seem to last. What more can I ask for?

Could be a great product, don't know, never tried this type of sealer. But I do know that I would miss the cleaning , sealing , waxing process that bonds me to my car. Gives me a chance to look the car over carefully and catch those things that need attention. Guess I'm just odd. Of course this is a car that is used 3 or 4 months a year and I have a long miserable winter to due this process....in a heated garage! The winter car is lucky it gets washed after the season ends.

NOT recommended for soft-top applications or Motorcycles.
Which bits do we need to careful around ? Switchgear and seat ?
Avoid the seat and use a good brake cleaner on your discs before riding.
Magiseal will not harm a soft top, however we recommend avoiding just to avoid product wastage and extra effort to rinse. There will be no benefit to soft top application.

Yes, this is still allowed. Sometimes in summer we have a hosepipe ban, but these only last a few months.

I've been a waterless wax enthusiast for years now.
Every 6 months I top up the protection.
I cant believe people are still falling for the waterless cleaning scam, I thought that had died out with flared trousers! Those products are 90% water, very expensive water. But it does make a very effective grinding paste on your paintwork when it loosens up the grit and grime!
The main reason it's still a major success is its demonstration on the TV channel Ideal world. With the addition of microfiber cloths it is used by luxury carmakers and gives a beautiful showroom shine.
Can't remember using it when I wore bell bottomed jeans however.
