I am sure the new mirrors are better however I like the look of the old ones better. No adaptive cruise, sport hood and alot of other things that should be standard on the top level trim
Hey JB, when you get a chance unless you already have. The gauge cluster allow for more details and views. At 9:09, the was a button with 3 squares and a circle underneath them on the left spoke of steering wheel. For all those who don’t know. That allow you to show more tiles/more information across the gauge cluster. Another TH-camr demonstrated that. Double check the digital gauge cluster display when you get a chance.
I have a 2023 2500 Longhorn Limited, every box was ticked off and this truck is nice I'm still learning everything it has, absolutely love the brown and woodgrain inside the cabin
2500 payload has pretty much been the same since they went to the coil spring suspension but add airbags and you’re good to go. I tow my 43’ toy hauler no problem with my 2500
The low payload capacity is a problem with most 3/4 ton diesels. Not much more than a 1/2 ton gasser and less than some 1/2 tons. Sure, it will pull your 5th wheel but you'll probably be way over the payload capacity making it a safety concern. For a few hundred dollars more you can get a 3500 (not a duelly) with nearly 4000 pounds payload capacity and its the same size truck!
After living with a 2500 diesel for 12 years I couldn't agree more. I spent way too much time playing with tongue weight to maintain stability and get below payload. That was with a leaf spring rear 2011 too. I went to the dealer in 2010 looking for a 3500 SRW, but the one I got was on the lot and heavily discounted. Out the door price with taxes, tags and fees was $42k. I sold it in September and my depreciation worked out to $1,000 per year of ownership. Replacing with a F450 which is stupidly priced.
Remember also the 68rfe transmission was for the 1/2 ton Dodge Trucks. Not made for full time heavy duty use. Lack the clutch packs! Heat destroys the steel's/friction's. Game Over! Expensive to update!
I have the exact truck 2022 in billet silver and walnut brown. I love it. The only thing mine and this one doesn’t have is the back-assist full view parking system. I had the sport hood on my 2019 1500 and I hated the plastic deals. They would keep dripping water on to the hood for hours after a wash. I’m glad it’s not on my new one.
The full digital dash is cool but the only thing I would worry about is like all new tech. it glitched and goes out,what happens if the dash glitches then you have no idea what speed your driving etc. I have the 12” screen in my 21’ Laramie 2500 and I have been pretty lucky only issue I have had was the parking camera went black for a day which happened twice but otherwise beautiful truck
Have bought 3 new Rams in the past 17 years but they have priced me out! No significant updates, same small cab, no bumps in hp, no transmission improvement and taking features away ! Made in Mexico 👎🏻 But hey they definitely went all in on price increase !!! Ordered a Superduty this week!
I’m with you on not having leather dashboard. I have a Longhorn and this Texas heat is causing air pockets in my leather dashboard. Ram doesn’t cover replacement in warranty. My Longhorn interior color is the same but not cream colored headliner. Thank goodness.
I’d give $70K for that truck, but NEVER $91K!!! Ram can pound sand! Oh…..those new mirrors are horrendous and that payload is super weak! My 1/2 ton has 1,640 payload and that Cummins 3/4 ton is only 360lbs. more 😱

Back in your old stomping grounds I see. You have been doing some traveling. UT, SC, MD…nice truck. I have a 21 black 3500 LLH mega cab. It has the wood trim on the top half of the steering wheel. Really sharp. Sorry to see the 23’s dropped that. I think the blank & tan interior looks better.

I love your videos and like that you shop for us, but just look what you have with your GMC for $10,000 less, my question would be, would you sell your truck for this one?
@@hellkitty1014 not on 2500 ram diesels. The highest payload on them is about 2200lbs. Roughly 700 to 800lbs less than Chevy and Ford 2500 diesels. The rear coil setup rides great, but it comes at the cost of payload capacity.

Never been a fan of Dodge even when they were Dodge. But i fell in love with these longhorns. The real part is they still only produce 370& 850 and a dated trans. Way way way behind in these areas.
Next time you review a ram with a digital cluster can you check if Apple CarPlay navigation shows up on it? Apple has an announcement a while back that they would support digital clusters.
Even though I own a Ram I have become a Ram hater. I think in reality I hate Ram 2500s. Price for performance is such a negative. A 3500 in this spec would be sweet. If they did a light gray headliner I might be converted from the Laramie camp🇺🇸💪
I find it pretty annoying that these packages come with half ass features instead of the the full deal like they used to. Like how are you going to have this trim with no 3rd light camera, or front facing camera ect...
Thank you so much for your outstanding videos! I've been torn between a 3500 limited or limited longhorn and finally decided the limited longhorn solely because of the interior color choices. For the Limited I didn't care for all black interior and really disliked the blue. For the Limited Longhorn I was pretty sold on the brown interior when looking at their website, however your video probably shows the real color without all their studio lighting tricks and i'm no longer a fan of the brown. In your video there just seems to be too much of the same brown tones and not enough contrast compared to what they show on their interior build 360 view. I liked it when it looked like it was a rich brown leather having several different varying color shades throughout the interior but not a fan of a caramel color that seems to dominate the entire inside. I thank you for showing these trucks and would request you try to show (if you can find them) what the interior color options look like in real life. I'm now trying to find the black and brown interior in a video to see what it looks like. I also wish they would drop the chrome plastic mirrors; they just look cheap to me and i don't think they will look good as they age and get stained. Thanks again for your outstanding content!
I’ve noticed it has been missing on all 23 models even on the limited and I don’t understand why especially since there more expensive ( I love the wood on top of the steering wheel )

Hey JB, good work on your channel. I have a white 2022 megacab longhorn, standard cummins 3500 with all of the options besides the Harmon Kardin and the sunroof. Looks like they took away the wood on the top of the steering wheel and the longhorn badge on the side of the truck. Wierd.
$91k without front camera included? that should be included in the $4,120 equipment upgrade... totally ridiculous to not have included at this pricepoint. The mirror upgrades are spot on- much needed. Glad they got rid of the lower back tattoo embroidering in the Longhorn leather- that was so tacky.
Nice truck, but the truck chassis and cab needed an update a decade ago. It's the smallest cab in the industry. Ram lost my business due to the old chassis and more so due to the crazy pricing they've instituted. They've gotten a little big for their britches.
Funny how the Cummins (yes it is a great engine and sounds awesome) is shown on the stickers options list, as its the only engine you can get on a 2500 Longhorn (and Limited) for 2023. Also, I never understood the need for clearance lights. I know they are required for vehicles that are above a certain weight or for some towing configurations. And yes, the fender flairs do look good. I still prefer some actual gages. The full digital screen looks kind of cheap. Overall, another nice review!

I hated my 2020 to the point that I traded it in for an Acura after getting a 2023 GMC 6.6L gasser. All that emission crap on the cummins makes it a piece of junk. This coming from a Ram fanboy. I also wasn't going to pay the prices they are asking for the newer ones for continued high mainteance cost.
Real sad Dodge is dirty for $100,000 not worth it! You must be the salesperson! Buyers beware! People stick with the older trucks there cheaper and less plastics! $100,000 for Firestone tires who buys Firestone! P.S don't get it dirty now!

The 68rfe is NOT a bad transmission. It is a heavy duty trans. Mine has 125,000 on it and I've had ZERO issues.
GVWR over 10,000# you can not cross state lines unless vehicle has dot numbers or is being used for recreational use. That’s a federal law!
My 16 2500 handles weight better then my 17 2500 dually.
The interior is 🔥 in that truck!

The main reason the engine lost some weight is due to compacted graphite block. Compared to the old steel block
I cannot believe Ram HD is still rocking the old 4th Gen cab instead updating it to the newer 5th Gen that the half tons have had the past few years.

The payload is lower on this truck because of the way it is spec'd. Higher capacities are available.

I think with the longhorn, it needs to have the two tone paint. Just my opinion. Otherwise go the next step to the limited.

Longhorns have always had contrasting roof material and pillar trim.
The darker interior doesn’t but I rarely see this interior so it threw me off. The Laramie doesn’t have the lighter roof color with the canyon brown
