Sonic Battle is a fighting game spinoff from the Sonic series. Rather than being 3D side-scrolling like many traditional fighting games, this game employs a 3D isometric view - not a static, sprite-based field though, it is comprised of actual texture-mapped polygons. The character sprites are 2D though, and while you think it wouldn't work - it does.
KusogeMan ( tasvideos.org/... ) improves on the previous "Challenge Mode" run by over a minute by utilizing a Sonic-exclusive glitch where he can repeatedly one-shot opponents with his super moves without spending any super meter.

TAS for Sonic Battle? Yes please. Very underrated game that still is really good and needs for a sequel.

Ikr? Sonic Battle deserves way more attention. Aside from the constant re-fights that happen in different parts of the game, it's actually pretty good!

But you are right, feels like the game just needs some fine tuning of its mechanics and it'd be a solid game that'd be easy to get into. Not to mention incredibly fun.
