I only regret Sonic Mania's super sonic isn't more like the Hyper Sonic mode of Sonic 3 & Knuckles with the directional double jump and it's flash, maybe too tough to implement with Sonic's already new possibility in Mania?
@@johannherveux1490 I mean Sonic Mania was obviously made with a love of the entire series in mind, including the Master System titles, given the Silver Sonics used in the boss fight, as well as assorted other references. :) Shame they didn't go for a full level from any of those games (Sky High could've been iconic, right?), but I guess when you make a game you want to self-impose some limits so the project doesn't run away into overfeature hell. Wherever you strike a balance it has to be somewhere, and they went with the more known-and-played mainstream and stuck with that. Fair enough. My guess with Hyper Sonic is that they are saving that for a sequel probably. Really hope a sequel's in the works!

So with Fang The Sniper, Bean the Dynamite, and Bark the Polar Bear I think this means that Sonic Mania takes place in the spin off time line. This means that after Sonic Generations, Young Robotnik made new traps for Sonic, these being the Game Gear and Spin off games. I liked the video. Really shows that they've put a lot of effort in making a good history game. But you did overlook that Silver Sonic (the little one you fight in the second phase of Metal Sonic) is also a boss. Specificly from the Sonic 2 game for the master system. In any case, overlooks be overlooks. Really solid work done!
For those of you in the comments thinking why Silver Sonic from Sonic 2 (MS/GG) is not in this video is because he's in the "Sonic Mania all Enemies Origins" video.
i still love the fact that they realized metal sonic's second phase sucked initially and they changed it to not only make it better but also add another Chaotix reference with the giant metal sonic
It's something I only realised playing S3&K recently that the version of Uber Catakiller you fight from the plane is essentially based on Marble Garden Act 2. The attack pattern very similar with the dipping in and out of the background too..
For oil ocean you included the original plus lava reef as the origin....but for stardust speedway you only included the origin from CD, even though the big firefly's attack is based on phase 2 of death egg zone's act 1 boss
I always thought that the Metal Sonic phase 3 boss felt like the Kyodai Eggman Robot fight from S3K after you destroy it's fingers, just with Metal Sonic Kai
2 other references in Metal Sonic Phase 2: Not only Mecha Sonic Mk 0 (or more properly, Prototype Silver Sonic), but also the Brotherhood of the Metallix from the Archie comics.
Hey, the flyng battery zone act 1 boss is actually wing fortress zone, Sonic 2 boss and chemical plant act 1 boss is actually Sonic CD Tidal Tempest boss
The Uber Caterkiller didn't really "copy". One is like Sandworm (S&K (sans up and down 3d-ish emerge move)) And the other is based on Bead Worm Boss. Which predates years ago.

3.- Egg Generator; Sonic OVA
(4?.- Metal sonic capsules; Sonic Adventure and Sonic CD)
30:42 Sonic chaos was my last sonic Master System before I turn full Megadrive in 1994. It's nice to witness some past memories.
26:05 hate to be that guy but isn’t this suppose to be a reference to Metropolis Zone boss where Eggman spawns in Chibi versions of him to attack Sonic?
Correct, I was about to point that out
😞
Fun Fact: In Sonic 4 Episode 1: In Flying Eggman's Second Phase Sometimes He Spawns In HUGE Versions Of Himself
Thanks man, the Silver Sonic stuff can be found in this other video I did about all the enemies: th-cam.com/video/BL0-L6oobLk/w-d-xo.html
@@DarkLordChaos you're very welcome
Big squeeze boss also shares some traits with Sonic 2's Wing Fortress's boss
huge fan of nintendo and sega.
Gennesis does what nitenDONT
@@pixeluka5809 We publish fan games and port them to our enemy's console
Nintendo is what Genesisn’t.
22:32 This is also a refrence of Sonic 2 boss in Mystic Cave act 2 where there are falling spikes too
Congratulations on all the work of editing and placing all references!🤤👏🏽👏🏽
For those of you in the comments thinking why Silver Sonic from Sonic 2 (MS/GG) is not in this video is because he's in the "Sonic Mania all Enemies Origins" video.
Well I had no idea the new death egg robot couldnt crush you. That's crazy lol
the race was my favorite part of cd and mania!
3:25 the OG sonic mini boss theme
Fun Fact: Big Squeeze's reference is a reference to Sonic 2; Wing Fortress Zone (Barrier Eggman)
The old bosses from past sonic games be like "IM BACK BOI!!!!!"
Specifically, 14:26.
Cool i like sonic games i like your channel i just wanna like your awsome video's and I want every one to like them.
i still love the fact that they realized metal sonic's second phase sucked initially and they changed it to not only make it better but also add another Chaotix reference with the giant metal sonic
1:33 Eggman is more fast than sonic!
It's something I only realised playing S3&K recently that the version of Uber Catakiller you fight from the plane is essentially based on Marble Garden Act 2. The attack pattern very similar with the dipping in and out of the background too..
Idea: Do a boss rush!
Sonic cd is my favorite game, the bosses are amazing.
Espios spin move is pure magic
The spikes and rocks falling from the drillerdroid are probably a reference to mystic cave zone in sonic the hedgehog 2
Hydrocity act 1 boss in sonic mania be like: UNO REVERSE
Metal before the Plus update: *haha spiky wall go brrrr*
Metal after the Plus update: *I WILL DESTROY YOU WITH THE POWER OF YET ANOTHER REFERENCE*
You can just walk under Death Egg Robot's legs.
*YOU CAN JUST WALK UNDER THE LEGS* !!!
And here I was thinking you'd get hurt or crushed for trying!
dat intro tho. The intro is AWESOME!!!
Why are people disliking this video when you worked so hard on it?
@JOSEPH CUNNINGHAM homo sapiens are truly an small-minded species
Or...they didn’t like the video?
Ruly Hydra So what does that make you?
@@SenatorArmstrong2018 a sentient bot with a channel
Good lord Knuckles Chaotix had some hard bosses with dope music
And a creepy bad ending
30:41 this is the weirdest boss i had ever seen in a sonic game.
Yeah, it is a Mario enemy in the world of sonic
@@OrpheasVIPC Bead Worm Boss is one your thinking about. Right?
Sonic Mania was amazing. Can't wait for Sonic Mania 2
Sonic Mania 2 probably be taking place after Adventure 1 and before Adventure 2
@DONG No.
@@Christopherphillips207 Canonically yeah.
For oil ocean you included the original plus lava reef as the origin....but for stardust speedway you only included the origin from CD, even though the big firefly's attack is based on phase 2 of death egg zone's act 1 boss
The big octus boss should also represent the badnik named octus
4:10
*Aw would you look at that? Eggman (Or maybe Robotnik works better in this case) even placed Sonic’s controls at his correct height!*
The easter eggs in Sonic Mania make the game even better.
You know, you could have been bice and save me a million L presses and just show snipets of the bosses, and not show every SECOND of the bosses
Yeah they are spoilers
@@CopperCash2024 How are they spoilers when the game has been out for quite some time already?
1.25x video speed is your friend.
I haven't seen some of these before they are really cool.
The only one I didn't know was the catakiller one
The Knuckles version of Uber Caterkiller is shown in this video. That's the one you're taking about. Right?
I was honestly surprised to see a reference to Sonic Chaos. I thought people forgot about it.
How did he beat the Death Egg Robot so easily? I have only beat that boss once...
And how amny times did you play sonic mania? Or Sonic 2 if that's the case? 2?
Giant metal sonic also mimics the Death Egg final boss movement from 3&k
13:52 the kraken?
Cuz it’s so big
I always thought that the Metal Sonic phase 3 boss felt like the Kyodai Eggman Robot fight from S3K after you destroy it's fingers, just with Metal Sonic Kai
I like how all bosses that dont have origins are skipped, to me they're annoying to beat.
2 other references in Metal Sonic Phase 2: Not only Mecha Sonic Mk 0 (or more properly, Prototype Silver Sonic), but also the Brotherhood of the Metallix from the Archie comics.

I think it's been confirmed that Metal Sonic Phase 2 is a reference to Emperor Metallix, from the Fleetway Comics
U mix heat arms and egg man submarine and what have u got big octus
Wow u hearted my comments thank you soo much
The Big Octopus is an Oil Ocean enemy. It is just a pink octopus and Eggman uses a giant version of it on the boss battle.
Metal Sonic's boss theme in both CD, Generations and Mania slaps
How original sega
Sonic mania wasn’t made by sega…
(I think)
@@ReverseCone-du3rcYeah it was made by Sonic fans
It wasn't made by sega
It’s called “Sonic Mania” for a reason bro
Yeah no sonic team worked on it, one of the main developers had remastered sonic 1,2 and cd in 2011 I remember
Nice video
Why is the game marked as Mario Maker 2?
I honestly don't know why or how
i have no fucking idea why and how
E dang i didnt expect to reply almost the exact same ad you i didnt even see your reply
3:28 this origin also partially has an origin which is part of the Metropolis Zone act 3 boss in Sonic 2
Sonic Mania is a great game but the 2 caterkiller fights are copied from mario. #1 is from Yoshi's island DS and #2 is from NSMBU
What’s The Name of The Bosses
The Uber Caterkiller didn't really "copy".
One is like Sandworm (S&K (sans up and down 3d-ish emerge move))
And the other is based on Bead Worm Boss. Which predates years ago.
23:19 (Origin) Sonic the hedgehog 2 (1992) Drill Eggman II (Boss of Mythic cave zone)
