Man, I really want the green OP😩 I like it so much better than the current Explorer. I hate the fact the Explorer has 19mm lug width and on my wrist it looks kind of diminutive where the 20mm lugs of the OP fit perfectly!
I have the same 2 watches and have also measured them. The OP case has a slightly larger diameter. Both are incredible watches, amazingly robust, accurate and very comfortable to wear. The OP is classy, yet sporty. Explorer is sporty, yet classy. The OP has more wrist presence due to 20mm lug width and wider bracelet. The amazing green lacquer dial makes the OP my favorite of the 2, but the Explorer is a close 2nd. Cheers!
Thanks my man! Thanks for watching! Its a very tricky way to measure the watches the easiest way is the one from “crown to 9” thats what everybody does.
nkuwan You are so well-informed about luxury watches. You've obviously done your due diligence and the comparison to the US is very informative...because of course, I live in New York. thank you very much
Wanted the turquoise, got laughed at. Asked for green, was told not available. Was offered explorer 1, ended up buying it. After watching this video kind of want the green now 😕
True but, Ive never seen this, i was shocked! I tried it till i got 36 cause i thought i was measuring wrong. Never seen anyone got 37mm so maybe it is but by the look of it on the wrist and side by side i dont think is 37
@@AndySTWT yea I agree but I’ve tried on both of these watches and I believe the OP is noticeably larger than the exp 36 .. the case is broader and the lug width makes a huge difference.. I think the better comparison is between an older 36mm explorer.. I’ve owned the 124270 twice and unfortunately it’s just too small for me whereas the OP is not imo 🤷♂️
Obviously the OP looks bigger cause of the 20mm lug width and I measured too the width of the lugs from outside and it was noticeably larger than the exp. But i did tried again the measurements of the diameter of the watch is 36.6 from 4 to 10. I do a comparison between those two cause people genuinely people have that question and dont know if the exp or the op to buy. Thanks for discussing this with me! Ill try to better at this type of videos
I got mislead by the title, I feel like "ROXEL PHYSICAL COMPARISON" would have been more accurate! I was expecting a video where you compare your actual experience with both, and not only the physical differences in measurement. I guess I wanted something that I can't read on their website :p (I'm 5 months late, so let me know if you have another video where you talk about your experience!)
Yes i want to do it again, i did it in the moment i didnt took measurements previously, i want it to be as raw as possible for everyone to see. I only did a little bit of research on how rolex measures their watches and the “official” way is measured it from 4 to 10. Thanks for watching! I will do another video on the matter.
After all, I think I still prefer the OP. In my opinion, the Explorer dial is just too bland, and I actually prefer the regular clasp instead of the professional one. If you like the story of the expedition to the Everest, remember that the climbers were carrying OPs and the Explorer is still an Oyster Perpetual, which just celebrates the ascending. 😂
Visually the Explorer is smaller. I've also seen several people measure it as 35.5mm, which makes sense as otherwise it would look out of proportion with the 19mm lug width as opposed to the 20mm of the OP.
Current Exp36 is just too dainty for a man's wrist. 19mm lug width aggressive taper to 16mm. Yucks Prefer the previous 114270 Exp36 for symmetry and proportions. Current OP36 just rocks more.
You missed a measurement. The dial size (or sapphire) can really dictate how a watch looks on wrist. For instance, say an iwc 43 looks bigger on wrist than say a seadweller 43. The smaller bracelet on the explorer and likely smaller dial makes it look small. The OP 36 has the same dial size and bracelet size as a Sub40mm. The OP looks perfect
Good way to use 10$ chinese plastic tools to check measures in the 0.1mm range. maybe check rolex specs and just read them? When you are showing the watches on your wrist - size matters - just feel free to tell us 😊 thx anyway - good to see those two in a row side by side. for me the exp seems to be a bit more punk. the evil twin from the mountains 😂
Men, you measure wrong! The tool must be directly vertical to the dial of watch. You do it under some angel. Real diameter of Rolex Explorer is 35.2 mm.
Why every reviewer has to measure watches with vernier caliper? Just copy paste technical specs from manufacturers website and do something different than others. I would like to see car reviewers measuring cars with tape measure
Cause for some people measurements are very important, wrists varies a lot from person to person and they want to be sure that the watch would look good on their wrist. I know sometimes its funny or weird but, specs on paper sometimes round up numbers to say its 36 instead of 35.7 so we have to measure to see if its really 36 mm. Idk maybe you’re right but i think is useful
Absolute joke with measuring and comparing. This guy recalibrates part way through the comparison meaning that the measurements are not fair… lost credibility in making a comparison
Do it yourself and see, its very difficult to give the exact measurements. At least I didn’t cut out anything. im learning as i do. Thanks for watching.
absolutely pathetic with calipers (your channel should be called Spending time with calipers), then you go on and show the wristshots with smudgy, dirty crystals on both pieces.
I have both and they are not leaving my collection. 🙌🏻
SAME! 🤭
which one is your favorite?
Which one do you like more? The agressive tapering bracelet from the explorer or the bracelet from the OP?
Thats a tough one! Im currently working on a new video and pin point the differences and which one i like more
Man, I really want the green OP😩 I like it so much better than the current Explorer. I hate the fact the Explorer has 19mm lug width and on my wrist it looks kind of diminutive where the 20mm lugs of the OP fit perfectly!
I just got one. You won't regret it, it's a beaut.

Both are great 36mm is underated. Better lokking then dive watches and more comfortable
Totally agree
Good to see someone measuring a Rolex 10 to 4.
That usually explains any confusion like Sub 40 vs 41.
Hard to do with calipers though
Thanks my man! Thanks for watching! Its a very tricky way to measure the watches the easiest way is the one from “crown to 9” thats what everybody does.
Excellent comparison , I lean towards op36 which I find a more refined watch, can you please tell the circumference of your wrist?
nkuwan You are so well-informed about luxury watches. You've obviously done your due diligence and the comparison to the US is very informative...because of course, I live in New York. thank you very much
OMG, i was looking for this exact comparison. Can’t decide between these 2 watches. Thanks 🙏
Hey thank you for watching! Hope it helped. Im currently recording another video about the op and exp
Explorer every day.
Wanted the turquoise, got laughed at.
Asked for green, was told not available.
Was offered explorer 1, ended up buying it.
After watching this video kind of want the green now 😕
Love your channel with so many stellar watches! For me the amzwatch’ watch is my favorite. Keep the videos coming. Thanks.
The difference in „case“ size is likely due to the different shape of the bezel
Haha the OP was bigger every time on the first measurement and then he goes back to measure again and it’s “nope, they’re the same size”
True but, Ive never seen this, i was shocked! I tried it till i got 36 cause i thought i was measuring wrong. Never seen anyone got 37mm so maybe it is but by the look of it on the wrist and side by side i dont think is 37

2024 Explorer
And every other year the Explorer 😎
Great vid buddy!
Thanks man! I appreciate it! Thanks for watching!

@@AndySTWT that'd be interesting!
I think you are using the calipers in an angle an that is messing a little bit with the measurement. Still this was a great video! :)

3,6,9 on the dial, mercedes hands, lollipop seconds and extra font, the explorer is objectively less “bland” than the OP
I prefer the op as it wears bigger, amazing movement too, these op’s series are amazing
The OP and the Explorer have the same movement 😅
Visually the Explorer is smaller. I've also seen several people measure it as 35.5mm, which makes sense as otherwise it would look out of proportion with the 19mm lug width as opposed to the 20mm of the OP.

I thought so too at first two years ago. But now doesn’t feel like it idk maybe i just got used to it. And no complaints here about tue op!
agree. I have 124270 and at time I just feel the taper is too aggresive.

I did measured then is 30mm both 5:50 mark I measured them
i think at the end the good combo is the new explorer 40 mm with the OP 36 in green ....! :)
That might be a good combo, although the 40 is not for me i tries it on, prefer the 36
Good video. You forgot to measure the clasp even though it looks like the op36 is smaller due to not having a safety clasp.
Great video my brother ❤
Thanks my brooo! Abrazo hermano
Be careful i have scratched watch cases with that kind of caliper despite of being plastic, put tape on the ends.
I did scratched them hahah but nothing that cape cod wont do hahaha lesson learned
Th op is visually bigger - i've held them side by side. I feel the explorer would be better if it had the case of OP.
Its is indeed, because of the 20mm and it is slightly bigger than the explorer overall.
Good way to use 10$ chinese plastic tools to check measures in the 0.1mm range.

I mean the Explorer is a one man army. The OP could be an option when having a collection and you need some fun. Nothing to compare: Explorer all day
20mm lug width on 36mm OP looks awkward. Especially on the arabic numeral dial. Should be 19mm or maybe even 18mm
The bracelet taper on the recent Explorers is way too feminine for my liking
The case and dial are perfect tho
Explorerada.🎉
You forgot the elephant in the room. The thickness
Rolex Op45 green 😬
If I can obtain a black dial op 36, I will finally abandon my watch journey
I was actually talking about this with a friend yesterday. The op black is just THAT exact watch. The one that could end it all seriously
Bought one from AD recently and I’m mehhhh about it
@@augustojoseramonpinochetug5235 I’ll happily take it from you my friend🙏
Just got my op 36 black dial. It is absolutely stunning.
ex36 is 35.4... have no idea what you were doing in this video apart from creating content for r/mildlyinfuriating.
both like
Me like too
The explorer tappering is a shame …….
Кто там посудой гремит?
Sorry 😅😂 i had the window open and my neighbor was doing the dishes
Explorer is better .
same watch lol
Kinda yes! Thanks for watching
