AalthOtta boopathy is ILAYARAJA's TUNE (Vechcha paarva theeraadhadi - 1980 song) that Mani Sharma lifted on the advice of who else, but Mysskin! Other than that, there is nothing in those overrated songs (Machchaan paeru madhurae, Gundu maanga etc.) to be proud of! Just because it was a superhit, it does not become a classic piece of MUSIC.

At least, Ilayaraja does not call him to his studio at midnight and make him wait for 2 more hours after that! A composer like ILAYARAJA knows whom to pick as a singer / lyricist, or what words would fit in as lyrics. SIMPLICITY is what he would ask for, when the hero is from a village (e.g. he forced Hariharan to give up his usual "sophisticated sangathis", made him sing for a humble village-bred KAASI, and the entire album was given to Hariharan). WHAT IS WRONG HERE? In the studio, he might have felt Sid was inappropriate for THAT song; but how does Kabilan explain that Sid sang ~4 songs for IR after that including Neenga mudiyumaa in that movie itself?! Kabilan may be disheartened that he was not called by IR for more opportunities, but it does not mean he goes on prattling such mindless things about IR cheekily. Mysskin, Mani Ratnam etc. became ungrateful when success got to their top. WHO else gave/will give him songs like Thaalaattu kaetka naanum, Mella oorndhu oorndhu, and Background scores like Onaayum Aattukuttiyum?! NOBODY! Mysskin's LOSS, and never the other way round. There is NOTHING to feel BAD about IR working for low-budget movies or Kabilan writing for such albums! Now it is clear that all these people ever wanted was QUICK MONEY / INSTANT FAME. IR does not work that way; for him, any movie is HIS responsibility; ART comes first before everything else / anyone. Oh, and IR has composed for 550+ movies AFTER his 500th movie ANJALI (1991). How is that "low number of movies"?! Kabilan seems to have been talking "under influence" (of alcohol).

Chitra, you could have removed what Kabilan said at around 9:30 where he says what Illayaraja commented about Sid Sriram. These kind of things should kept within the persons who were there and not to be leaked out as this can impact many people negatively.
