Ik it’s horrible. And it’s happened to me quite a few times. Like I can’t get a good grip or one of my fingers can’t fully wrap around their hand and is more on their palm which is awkward as hell and I hate it because I want to give a nice firm manly handshake.
Tomorrow I am hopefully going to shake the hand of the man who raised the girl who I love. No it is not her Dad, but it is her Paps. This man has molded the one who I love into the beautiful women I know today. I have so much to say to this man, and this video helped me in my time of need. I don't want to pussy out and skip the chance to tell this man how much I admire and respect him. I respect this video because I want to give this man the best handshake in the world. He deserves it :)
***** There was a time when a handshake was considered to be a contract. Then the lawyers got involved and ruined everything!!. That's the shame of it all. I was raised in the 50's and 60's, when a handshake was not only a greeting but a sign of respect. The newer generations follow what Tim Stiffler-Dean refers to in his post. The loss of respect for people has become too common-place and is one of the sure signs of social collapse in this country.
Randy Menard Amen to that! I was raised in the 80's and my father taught me how to do a proper handshake when I was a small boy. Not all, but most guys I meet in their 20's can't shake hands properly, or shake hands like a woman. If I ever have a son, men everywhere can rest assured that he'll learn a proper handshake. I also make a point to shake hands with my junior high school students and correct them when they get it wrong. Doing my part, albeit a small part, to being back tradition and respect.
As a female, I definitely prefer to shake hands in a business setting. It establishes a rapport as equals and places me within the discussion. It seems strange to be part of a group being introduced, and have handshakes going on around me but none extended to myself. Thoughts?
In my personal experience, I have always shaken women's hands with just my fingers. Back it up with a pleasant, confident salutation. Usually when I see a woman extend her hand with a bent wrist and a slightly downturned palm that means fingers only. Most men extend their hands with a straight wrist and a somewhat upturned palm. A few women I've met will go palm-to-palm, but that is overwhelmingly used between men as far as I've observed.
@@KlynerKaiOffical Me neither, and with the way things are going we won't be shaking people's hands for much longer. Whether it be because everybody hates each other or because everybody is afraid of germs.
My handshake brings all the boys to the yard, And they're like It's better than yours, Damn right it's better than yours, I can teach you, But I have to charge
The worst by far are the early grippers, because they screw up my own good handshake! They grab before the hands are in place and just squeeze/shake your fingers.
+Brinck Spend several years building strongman levels of grip strength and if they don't let go crush their hand into pulp while yelling rape as loud as you can. 60% of the time it works 100% of the time.
The laptop in the background scared me. I am not used to these new contraptions nowadays. It's something straight out of those dime store science-fiction comics the kids get infatuated in.
Hmm, it says don’t offer a handshake if someone is in a conversation with someone else. But their conversation could last a long time and what if you need to leave and say goodbye?
Question from a lady: how to shake hands with men and not come across as aggressive or strange? Women rarely extend hands to shake when greeting another women, but it's about 50/50 when meeting men. In a business place of mixed genders and hierarchies, what sort of handshakes are appropriate?
I say it should be completely gender-neutral. Personally as a man, I would much rather have a woman give a firm handshake than a soft finger-layover thingy or whatever that's called.
Notice at the end when he's shaking the lady's hand he stays firm, but doesn't squeeze. You don't try to compress the fingers of the fairer sex. Same goes for children.
I miss these types of AoM videos. I wish they still made them like this.
"You don't get the job."
"But why?"
"Because you hear voices and talk to them."
"Oh right."
Always hold your drink in your left hand at a party - then your right hand is always dry and warm and ready for a manly handshake.
Egbert Wadman great idea, let’s just do that then
Also, keep you hand on top of other while handshaking, thats the most important sign of being a dominant male.
@@hanma1705 a dominant handshake can signal a lack of respect towards the other person, especially to an older man

@@anibalhyrulesantihero7021 Some people dont seem to even try and then seem surprised when you try to shake their limp hand properly.
@@bludgerabled It really saddens me when people do a deadfish grip. 🙁
Same thing with bad body language and quick head movements, I just think "C'mon, man, you can do better than this."
I agree. It really is awful.
There is nothing worse than someone grabbing your hand and closing it before you get your grip. It forces you to give a pansy handshake.
Exactly. It's like they're out to get you for no reason.

In the Book, The Art of Manliness it says not to shake ladies hands. It says to let them extend first.

When shaking a woman's hand, would you loosen your grip slightly or the same grip to both genders
+Gary Lehl I usually change my grip based on gender, but also body type, age, et cetera.
Harder with women so they think your super tough and have sex with u
I’ve found that women tend to squeeze harder, so I meet them wherever they’re at. If they squeeze 100% I squeeze 100%.
