    Blasters are cool quads man, cheap to build, super reliable, and you can find them for cheap. You can beat the shit out of these quads and they just keep going. They arent the fastest quad but they are a blast to ride.

    Please make more videos about this blaster. I have one myself a 2001, without the key, the fancy headlight etc. I never knew that they had a oil injection to the carb. I just always premix my gas. And where would you put the oil? Is there an extra tank??? Plus i have a hose going from the top of the block to the top where my headlight is. What is that for??

    • @josepharmbruster5537
      @josepharmbruster5537 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just got one myself, a 2002. Sounds like someone has taken all the extras off of yours, which isn't a bad thing. Mine is stock and I had to do a TORS delete and I'm waiting on a oil block off plate to delete the oil delivery. They have a small oil tank rear left with a hose to the pump and a smaller hose from the pump back up to the carb. If you're missing these hoses make sure it's been sealed with RTV. I'm removing my pump and blocking it with a plate you can get on Ebay, comes with plate, 2 screws, and a gasket. There's other ways to deal with it but this is the best way. That hose you mentioned is a vent. Oh btw, if your's has had the Tors removed, and a new carb cap eliminating the Tors block on top of the carb, you will have needed a new idle screw drilled and tapped into the carb. This is necessary to get it to idle properly. If this has already been done the big (boss) port , center on the choke side will have been ground flat (it's tapered to begin with), and will have the brass screw installed for idle.

    • @gtisid
      @gtisid 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ok so spring lodged in gear drum .... got to take that trans out and check for missing teeth on gears. looks like it’s had a bottom end rebuild and kick return spring has broken up and lodged in gears or was left there. this happened on my 490 got between the gears and case and popped the engine case so i’d check that for cracks round the kickstarter area as that’s a lot of metal to be floating around in the trans.

  • @mau77fx
    @mau77fx 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    That is part of another spring. At least on my DT125. The kick starter has two springs , the first one is an angular spring you showned mounted on the shaft on 31:46 , the second is an axial spring that fits between the kickstart axle (bottom) and the case. I recognize the shape of that spring, exactly like the DT. Check for the part 90468-26048-00 for the blaster.

  • @jodyhakamaki5602
    @jodyhakamaki5602 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You were going to put those cases back together without fixing the problem... Those pieces of Metal came from somewhere, which means that all them gears have to come out So you can fix the problem... Which you did figure out..

  • @connerjones7902
    @connerjones7902 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    You need a block off plate for that oil pump. It will run lean with the pump there and also the carb oil injection hole needs to be plugged. I say this from experience, I’ve blown up my old blaster twice from this before I realized. Also the top of that piston looks weird like that because it is a straight up Chinese eBay piston. I don’t see it lasting long at all.

    Shift can toasted ahahah if u take it apart the best way to install is to put the trans gears and shift can together then put it all in at once

    • @2vintage
      @2vintage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I found that out. Tricky to get it to all go in at once.

    I had a blaster that would shift so I took it all apart and whoever built it didn’t make sure the trans bearings were seated right so when the case bolts tightened up the trans would completely lock up

    • @2vintage
      @2vintage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah that's a pretty common problem with the blasters

    New spring reason why you can’t fit it together probably was rebuilt one time then the spring broke on the kicker so they took the side case off an put a new spring on it but didn’t do it right reason why it only works when it catches I just wonder how it made it there though good video though

    i never buy anything with gasket make on it unless it’s cheap . The thing is with gasket maker is you know whatever was done to the motor wasn’t done proper.

      Still riding a crf450 I rebuilt a year ago an it’s going strong I used gasket maker only because my 50$ gasket set was shitty an off really bad an I couldn’t wait any longer for a new set to come but still I’m not leaking anything so your point is?

    Mine was shifting the same when I was stationary shifting the engine. I did the shift star mod and replaced the detent arm. Now that that engine is put back together it shifts like butter. For some reason blaster are tough to shift while engine is off. Thanks
