I wish every video was like this. Thought out. Filmed and edited well. And absolutely proper every step. As opposed to the usual Bubba in a dirty workshop doing a hack job. And I'm really appreciative of this because I'm doing this exact job right now.
Thanks Charles. This was a big help. I’m about to dive into one of these and I feel better knowing what I’m in for. The star wheel for the gear selector on mine is held on with a torx screw and keyed. Yours is welded. Guessing that’s a modification? Nope. Just found out mine was an early version. Yours is the current version. Also I’m about to use yamabond to mate the two case halves together.
Why is it that the clutch basket hits the counterbalancer nut upon tightening the clutch? Actually stops the crank from spinning? Are there different sized spacers? Seems like I need a wider diameter spacer.
Howdy…can you guys do a Full Exhaust Shootout ? I’m getting a 2023 CRF 450-50th Anniversary & can’t decide over the Yoshimura or the FMF Titanium Power Bomb & Baffle…Thanks…Love your Channel🦾💥🔥
I had the Yosh but have went to a PC TI-6 it has more smooth power and less hit than the Yosh system did. So it all depends on what you prefer the Yosh is also quieter but has a raspy metallic sound at higher RPM that’s pretty sweet. The PC pipe has a more deep rumble to it with a decent cackle on the rev limiter.
Hi, sorry about my English:) I have a question, should the clutch basket stagger on the crankshaft? If I pull it up and down, it staggers on the camshaft... And is it possible to put a clutch basket from another Yamaha? For example, from Dt230 or Mt250?
Hello friend, one question, I assembled the entire clutch assembly, and I have a small lateral play of about 1 or 2 mm, the nut is tight and it has the washers it came with, the shift shaft already has that play when you pull it, Does it have a washer inside the ends of the axle, or should I put a washer to supplement it? I don't know if it has to have that lateral clearance from the inside out

After seeing you use the special tools, I ordered all of them lol. What a difference when you have the right tool for the job. All those years I was that guy splitting a case with flat head screwdriver lol
At 45:40 in this video we show installing the clutch actuation arm back into the engine. Michael Sabo also has a good Blaster rebuild video where he shows this process of installing the actuator arm at 24:27. You can check out that video here: th-cam.com/video/raPMHjE52Z8/w-d-xo.html

What grease are you guy using? Just like typical assembly grease?

Thank you brother

Figured it out, had the larger clutch nut on the counterbalancer. Swapped them and all fit well and spins.

Them engine stands seem better than using blocks of wood and stuff to hold the motor up. Need to get one of them
Do you use a gasket between the cases? Or just silicone? What kind of silicone?
just silicone i used yamabond

Is the play in the transmission shaft? Or do you mean the clutch assembly has play on the transmission shaft with the nut tight?
The bracket that from the old cable breaks that the new spring goes to was cut off my frame so do you know how I would be able to mount the spring
How much to fix my transmission

Why didn’t you put any gasket sealer between the case half’s ?
my crank spins freely and then locks up in only one place what could that be
Sounds like its a problem with the bearing. I would suggest looking at the main bearing. -Charles
