    Good job on the Blaster, you know I love those little rockets!! Just a small FYI the air filter on it is very restrictive, I had one for about 20minutes on mine and threw it in the pile, I put on a foam cleaner and it was back to ripping hard. The tops of the TORS carb is loose and is an air leak, the flat rubber washer in the cap can't seat because the threads get stripped on the cap making it impossible to get it air tight. I have hundreds of free "go fast tricks" for Blasters if you want or if you find a project Blaster.

    Hey Joe what do you do with the ATVs/Dirt bikes after you are done fixing them?

  • @matthewschlegel22

    I am considering buying one of these from my sisters fiancé. I saw it run once years ago, it’s been sitting outside for a while now.
    It has low compression, about 70 psi. It has good spark and that’s about the only thing it really has going for it.
    He also has a “parts” one that has a seized motor. He wants $100 for the two of them. Should I take them?
    Just from quickly looking at it today It’s going to definitely need a top end at minimum, tires, fuel line, seat, clutch(when I pull the clutch in it gets stuck), exhaust boot, and the brake lines/ master cylinder has no fluid at all. Any fed back on it is greatly appreciated!!

      @CodyM_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      $100 for both? I wouldn’t pass them up for that price, shoot if you get them and it begins to be too much or maybe your not comfortable fixing the one you could part out the good parts and probably get your $100 back fairly easy

    • @matthewschlegel22
      @matthewschlegel22 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CodyM_ yeah $100 for the both. The parts one isn’t complete. I saw it run probably 10 years ago for a few seconds then the motor locked up. Yeah that’s what I was thinking, I could always get my money back especially with used market right now. I don’t know how it is out your way but you can’t find any deals. For dirtbikes you can’t find and 250’s that’s are under 3 grand, and they are 1998-2002 that need work

    • @CodyM_
      @CodyM_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@matthewschlegel22 I would snatch them up and see what you can do with them, try to put 1 together with as much as you can from both and see what else you would need to make 1 good one, if it looks like it won’t be worth it start parting them out. Yeah I’m in the mid-south, Tn to be exact and prices around here or within driving distance are crazy high. Either really nice and sky high price or something that’s been beat to shit and they still want an arm and a leg for it lol

    I'll tell you what, for $1000 and a carburetor cleaning/fixing, you got yourself one hell of a nice Blaster.

    @2vintage if it stinks a lot of oil from the exhaust then it draws oil through the oil seals on the crankshaft

    had the same exact blaster let my uncle ride it and he blew it up, it was gonna cost more than the actual bike when i bought it to fix it, now i have a raptor 660r really liking it and nobody can ride it besides me

    Ive always had luck with starting things that become flooded, by holding the throttle wide open, letting the excess fuel out the exhaust. Works on two or four strokes.

    @2vintage I have a 2000 yamaha blaster I think I may have a good quad for a video for u so when I first got it its wouldn't stay running I cleaned the carb of what I thought was a good job but when I go thru the gears and go to pull the clutch to downshift it wants to shut off

      Concur ... started off on new Blaster in 94 no issues after 4 years. Only thing I don't like about them is short wheelbase. I looped that thing a few times trying to concur steep hills whereas our current YFZ and Z 400 just powers up same hills effortlessly.

    You should buy a IV pole then you can hang one of those cylindrical gravity feeding gas tanks to hang from the IV pole lot easier to test start with oh it’s an auxiliary gas tank they’re both about $40 each but handy

    • @Rod-db8tt
      @Rod-db8tt 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yup, test tank is so handy ... saves tons of time! I just hang mine from end of garage door rails
