    Well when you need permission from the Illinois State Police to purchase a gun it goes from a right straight to a privilege.

      It’ll take the US Supreme Court for this to be struck down. But at this rate with the over reach of the recent laws, it’s only a matter of time before we get some answers from the high courts. Hopefully..

    People seem to think, some people, that government is the fix-all to the problems in life. Asking government to handle every problem only adds government overreach to lifes challenges. We would all like for major challenges to be eliminated but there's always a tradeoff when you ask government, or an entity of any kind, to do it for you, namely freedom.

    They need to leave the FOID Card system alone. It’s better then relying on the FBI to due the background check. The hole system will melt down, the FBI can not handle the amount of checks it is going to have to do. They will miss a lot, people who shouldn’t have gotten a fire will get them, people who should will be denied or it will take to long to get the clearance. The FOID system isn’t perfect but it’s better the the alternative.

    • @dennismcdonald8133
      @dennismcdonald8133 ปีที่แล้ว

      The foid background check is redundant. When you purchase a gun the FBI already does the background check. The foid is nothing but a tax on a constitutionally protected right.

    • @Ashcrash82
      @Ashcrash82 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ummm, having a FOID card doesn't reduce any background checks....you still have to pass one every time you buy a gun, and those checks are all done the FBI anyway. Getting rid of it wouldn't have any effect, other than possibly a slight uptick from folks that wanted guns before but didn't because of the onerous paperwork and cost to get one.
