I use to use the og metalizing parasite in my water deck Mother Grizzly > MP > legendary ocean > Terrorking Salmon. It was either used for tribute fodder, or to protect my larger cards like fissure, hammer shot etc.
This is just me messing about with random decks but I've found that if you play around summoning Worm Zero with future fusion (as unlikely as it is to pull off), Worm Victory comes out as an even bigger beat stick than worm Zero itself, it becomes a sort of plan B if you can get it out of the GY if you used it as fusion material.
I put Humanoid Worm Drake in my Ra deck as fodder and I’ve been going down this rabbit hole about slime cards lol. I’m just happy to see one of my favorite YuGiTubers speak on it. They need to retrain Slime cards and make it an archetype immediately. It would have so much potential in this current state of the game. Something refreshing in having an OG monster rather than some random hentai girl as artwork with overpowered effects.
I love the idea and art of Fushio Richie, being a spellcaster that can turn into a lich. I'd love to see a retrain of Fushioh and Dezard to see what they could do in 2024 with such a concept
Nice video, but I don't think "Humanoid Worm Drake" should have been on the list. Everyone can agree that Normal Fusion monsters (of any level) are completely terrible and a complete waste of resources (except in some niche strats), you can literally make an entire list of just Normal Fusion monsters. So, taking a spot is kind of redundant IMO.
If anything the only card that will see potential meta play is the new Light one as a generic extender for many decks to insulate combos vs Nibiru. New support doesnt help much for the actual deck.
Worm Victory is one of those cards which really annoy me because they describe a concept not associated with the card art itself. It’s like how Mammoth Graveyard isn’t a Graveyard and how Ice Water isn’t Water.
It does the "V" for victory though and it's effect was intended as a win condition. Flip it to clear the opponent's board and attack with high ATK gained through Worms in GY to win. Also all Worms have a different letter of the alphabet as the first letter of their name. Apocalypse, Barses, Cartaros, Dimikles, Erokin, Falco, etc. so V for Victory was just too good not to use as a name.
I remember playing in a progression series server that started from the very first set. Once in a while, we would do a no-banlist tournament and the first one was on the release of IOC. Everyone did Chaos or Scientist shenanigans, but I went the route of stun, and funny enough Metallizing Parasite Lunatite was a key part of the combo. Send a monster from the field to GY (Nuvia the Wicked or Boar Soldier), activate Last Will to get Parasite, Metamorph into Last Warrior, profit.
When I saw this in my recommended, I was half expecting one of my favorite archetypes to get dumped on. Rein-Beux Overlord of Dark World's effect is really niche, being that his effect exclusively bounces him when being discarded from GY by an opponent's effect, and his row destruction effect only activates AFTER he's successfully special summoned off his own effect. But modern support has made him more viable, so I'm glad the list recognizes that there are other 7's far more scuffed.

If a “Worm” monster you control destroys an opponent’s monster by battle, or directly attacks your opponent: You can Normal Set or Special Summon facedown 1 “Worm” monster from your hand or deck._ ATK/0 DEF/2500
Humanoid Worm Drake should get a modern Retrain to Egyptian God Archetypes; like how God Slime turned into the 3 Sacrifices. While we continue talking about slime, Konami should finally print Mad Dog's (GX) Slime cards. Imagine a Egyptian God Deck with a Hand destruction x Burn Deck. This would definitely bring the God's to a Higher Tier in the current Meta. Edit: The Burn Strategy is an Ode to Yami Marik's sadistic play tactics.
Humanoid Worm Drake has a funny niche in a terrible old Goat format fusion turbo deck - King of the Swamp and Humanoid Slime are both low ATK Water monsters so they can be returned to the hand with Salvage to go for another fusion, and Worm Drake can enable Dark Factory of Mass Production or Heart of the Underdog. (Worm Drake can also hit under Messenger Of Peace and block out attackers during Messenger Of Peace funnily enough.) ...But you are better off going for an actual boss monster like Dark Paladin in old fusion turbo decks anyway. ^_^"

I'd say you're half wrong about Allure Palace and Golden Allure Queen being currently unreleased since they were released this June in the OCG, but haven't yet in the TCG. In the OCG they got them in Animation Chronicle 2024 which if I recall correctly typically has it's cards imported in the TCG in Battles of Legend sets, I'd say they'll probably get released in the June-August 2025 for the TCG.
Hi TheDuelLogs, do you have a video of the top 10 generic cards to use going first and second? (Two cards that come to mind are Called by the Grave and Kashtira Fenrir, but there must be more). This will help a lot for people who play Master Duel, which is best of 1.
16:40 AND in the original manga, it didn't need to sacrifice a monster to attack (though to be fair, neither did Joey's Panther Warrior). It was hinted that the tokens had another effect too, but Weevil never got a chance to use it.
The number one spot may be bad but come on man, it’s so cool.😅 when I first saw this card I was like damn this is cool until I read the effect. However, I like how it basically references how a Lich is made and how it’s basically an undead king striving for immortality.
Wall shadow could've been good, it's effect just needed a few tweaks: - it can attack using it's 1600 points of atk while being on defense position - if it destroys a monster by battle it can attack again - if it is in your hand when you activate magical labyrinth, it returns itself to the deck and you draw two cards And even with all that extra advantages, it still wouldn't have seen competitive play, it just would've been good for fun, gimmick focused decks.
The labyrinth wall episode of the show was my favorite episode, and so I've always been attached to the card. It sucks that it sucks so much. I've always wanted to use it?? EVER?? And I haven't been able to use it ever. :(
14:27 Retrain idea to make this card to make it easier to summon out and remaking its effects to be more useful: _Insect Empress_ (EARTH) Level 7 _Insect/Tuner/Effect_ _You can Tribute Summon this card by Tributing 1 monster. You can special summon this card (From your Hand or GY) by Tributing 2 Insect monsters. Insect monsters you control gain 200 ATK/DEF for every Insect monster you control. If an Insect monster you control attacks and inflicts battle damage, you can tribute 1 card from your hand or field: That monster can attack again in a row. Once per turn, during the End Phase: Special Summon 1 “"Insect Monster Token" (Insect/EARTH/Level 1/ATK 100/DEF 100)._ ATK/2200 DEF/2400
Funny thing, I tried to make both Wall Shadow and Allure Queen work. With Wall Shadow, I kicked it out of my deck after a couple losses due to back to back brick hands. Allure Queen came closet to decent with cards like A Forces and Razz helping the Guards. Unfortunately, a lack of proper support made Allure Queen difficult to play.
Kinda surprised that Regenerating Rose didn't get a Yubel Retrain like with Grave Squirmer, Samsara Lotus, and Grinder Golem. Like, let it float on any destruction into letting you add a Yubel or a card that mentions it to your hand. And knock that defense down to 0 while we're at it.
A slight correction about Flare Neos: the highest potential attack it can have only by its own effect should be 11300. This due to there being several trap monsters that are still treated as traps when summoned as monsters. So if Flare Neos is summoned to a ED-zone and all other spaces on the field (except the other ED zone) are filled with Spell/Traps and trap monsters that are still treated as traps, then his attack is: (24x400)+2500=11300 I hope this inspires someone to make a Flare Neos OTK
Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth will always be the ace monster I use with Weevil’s deck in duel links. Insect Queen needs a busted skill to even bother with, and I like to use suboptimal decks in the first deck slot in DL to focus on summoning their ace, but Insect Queen can go away
Weird thing about cheating out Humanoid Worm Drake within Phantasm Spiral is that Fists of the Unrivalled Tenyi could also summon, like, Gagagigo the Risen or if you needed a Fusion for whatever reason there's also Aqua Dragon though due to that being a McDonald's Promo with no reprints it's slightly less dirt cheap.
I have a strategy with fusihoh richie that won me a local tournament. You see, i took the card, and i placed it in the garage can, and by filling that spot with a different card, it allowed me to take first place. Would recommend.

Once per turn (Quick Effect), you can special summon 1 FIRE “HERO” or “Neo-Spacian” monster from your hand. If this card would leave the field: Shuffle it into the Extra Deck, then Special Summon 1 “Elemental HERO Neos” or 1 “Neo-Spacian Flare Scarab” from your Hand, Deck or GY._ ATK/2500 DEF/2000 THERE, I made the contact fusion optional while allowing you to also use other methods of Fusion Summoning, made the ATK/DEF gains apply to ALL “HERO” monsters you control, made it so you can soft OPT (Quick Effect) Special Summon 1 FIRE “HERO” from your hand, and retuned the end phase effect into a floating effect that lets you special summon 1 of it’s fusion materials.
You use Future Fusion on Worm Zero or Snake Rain to get Worm Victorys stats up its one of best ways to clear monsters in a worm deck so to good for this list.
12:25 Idea to retrain this card by making it so it can Special Summon itself from your GY or Banishment by tributing the tokens it summons: _Resurrection Rose_ (DARK) Level 7 Plant/Effect _You can Special Summon this card (From your GY or Banishment) by tributing 2 Plant monsters you control. once per turn (Quick Effect), you can tribute any number of cards from your hand and/or field: Special Summon 1 Plant monster from your GY or Banishment who’s Level equals the number of tributes. Kid me used to run Wall Shadow in my deck and because of how it worked in the anime, kid me and others assumed it would have the effect to attack in defense position Having a 3000 wall that can also attack was really good and really not how the card worked
The silliest part of Fushioh Richie is that it mentions unnecessary details on its summoning condition instead of just saying "must be Special Summoned by the effect of Great Dezard".

I actually made worm victory very valuable...I built a deck based on milling my own deck into the grave to use double summon to bring him out and using spells that flip him face up to nuke the field ...a niche use with worm zero.
They are a flip based archetype that center around.....being sort of bad at flipping Oh and ally of justice in lore were built to fight them, hence the focus on light monsters in their effects
Humanoid Worm Drake deserves some credit for actually being as strong as the sum of its parts. If you look at almost every other fusion, they're way weaker than the combined ATK of their materials.
I'd argue that Labyrinth Tank is a worse Level 7 than Humanoid Worm Drake. While it's also a fusion monster with no actual archetype, you have to give up one of the earliest FTK enablers, Cannon Soldier, to summon it. It also got a retrain like Wall Shadow did, but it's way worse because the one of the materials is just way better than the result. As a video suggestion, how about the worst level 6 monsters? I'll even start Steam Gyroid. It's worse than it's fusion materials since it lacks an effect like it's materials do, it's part of the infamously useless Vehicroid archetype, and it's ATK is something that's outclassed by Steamroid via it's monster' effect. But hey, at least it's a Ready Fusion target.
White night queen is compatible with some other cards like tribute burial and the Darklord link monster. Not great, but something. Shame that fairy has such good support but its tricky to get to the field because of the summoning restriction

I know I know, but A: I’m not sure if 10 retrain ideas would even _fit_ in a single comment, B: If they DID a lot of the response comments would probably be like “Ah HELL NAH I AIN’T READING ALL THAT!”, and C: The one comment would probably just get lost in the sea of the videos others. Even if I put them as replies to the first one of these I made people would only read the first comment.
I love you duellogs please dont die
I use to use the og metalizing parasite in my water deck
Mother Grizzly > MP > legendary ocean > Terrorking Salmon.
At least White Night Queen can be searched by Cyber Angel Benten in Ritual decks
Make sense. Both alexis's carf
I know this might be weird to say, but your voice is so good to hear
Cyber Laser Dragon deserved to be on the list lol
Wall shadow should have at least have the ability to attack while in defense position.
Yeah mine as well include slot machine and stone dragon if we're counting normal fusions.
Say what you will about Great Dezard, but damn he looks cools as hell. God I hope he gets a retrain.
4:35 "there's no getting around those 2 tributes" i see what you did there DuelLogs...
Fushioh Richie is one of my favorite old cards.
Forever held back by how bad Great Dezard was.
It has such dope artwork, and I absolutely love Liches.
Allure Queen at least got support in the OCG. Just gotta wait for it to hit the TCG to play around with.
Frog the Jam
@@williamdrum9899 this one is more excusable because its name could be Frog and it is indeed a jam
@@Dr.Livingdarkit isn’t frog
@@Deathmare235yeah but maybe frog is a name, a surname even.
A Wild Monster Appears!? Gets Nosferatu Lich on the Field and he switch himself facedown to Evade the suffle into the Deck
After watching these videos, I always want to try making them work in MD, something wacky to throw at friends or casual match.
My favorite Level 7 Monster:
Poseidra, the Atlantean Dragon
(I love him so much, I have him as a 1 of in my Atlantean/Mermail deck)
I have a Shark/Atlantean deck, Poseidra is the Boss Monster with Shark Drake. I can't wait for the new support!
@@il3fortunato664our lord and savior is making his triumphant return. Poseidra just had to get a retrain in response to what the Fire Kings (the Atlanteans’ biggest rivals) got
3:53 Card games in general. I find it one of the draws of MTG commander
Make a top 10 rarest combinations of type and atribute. Great top TDL.
I always liked insect queen, but really hate what they did to her. I wish they made some kind of strategy around her, like giving her a tree born frog who restricts it's after she it's it. Or a field spell that gives you buffs for the tokens.
Also my man worm Drake making it to finals! First ever fusion monster I tried to summon
No Slot machine?
REALLY?
6:11 Idea to retrain this card to make the “Victory” part more apt:
_Worm Victory - Violence_ (LIGHT)
Level 7
Reptile/Flip/Effect
_FLIP: Destroy all Face-up Monsters on the field, except “Worm” monsters._
_Can be Normal Summoned/Set by tributing 1 Reptile monster. ”Worm” monsters you control gain 500 ATK/DEF, and can make additional attacks per battle phase, for each Reptile monster in your GY. If a “Worm” monster you control attacks a defense position monster, inflict piercing battle damage. If a “Worm” monster you control destroys an opponent’s monster by battle, or directly attacks your opponent: You can Normal Set or Special Summon facedown 1 “Worm” monster from your hand or deck._
ATK/0 DEF/2500
(Worm Drake can also hit under Messenger Of Peace and block out attackers during Messenger Of Peace funnily enough.)
...But you are better off going for an actual boss monster like Dark Paladin in old fusion turbo decks anyway. ^_^"
18:58: I feel a bit chuffed because that one popped into my head. But I'm not alone, aren't I?
9:43 I don't know.... the fact that its minimum a Giant beatstick that you can easily summon from Neos Fusion should at least make it the number 10 of the list
18:34 Bakura has a line with this?
If you haven’t yet can you do a top 10 worst machine type monsters? Also if you do I think metalzoa would be a good addition to the list.
Instant contact and flare neos goes great into Kashtira, Red-Eyes galaxy tomahawk shenanigans. He’s great.
Suggestion: Summoning condition that make over power/broken monsters unplayable.
Ex: Horus LV8
Wall shadow could've been good, it's effect just needed a few tweaks:
- it can attack using it's 1600 points of atk while being on defense position
- if it destroys a monster by battle it can attack again
- if it is in your hand when you activate magical labyrinth, it returns itself to the deck and you draw two cards
And even with all that extra advantages, it still wouldn't have seen competitive play, it just would've been good for fun, gimmick focused decks.
The labyrinth wall episode of the show was my favorite episode, and so I've always been attached to the card. It sucks that it sucks so much. I've always wanted to use it?? EVER?? And I haven't been able to use it ever. :(
18:12 They had us in the first half NGL.
14:27 Retrain idea to make this card to make it easier to summon out and remaking its effects to be more useful:
_Insect Empress_ (EARTH)
Level 7
_Insect/Tuner/Effect_
_You can Tribute Summon this card by Tributing 1 monster. Once per turn, during the End Phase: Special Summon 1 “"Insect Monster Token" (Insect/EARTH/Level 1/ATK 100/DEF 100)._
ATK/2200 DEF/2400
The intro alone was enough to remind me of how much I despise kashtira fenrir.
20:57 I love what you did there
Kinda surprised that Regenerating Rose didn't get a Yubel Retrain like with Grave Squirmer, Samsara Lotus, and Grinder Golem.
So if Flare Neos is summoned to a ED-zone and all other spaces on the field (except the other ED zone) are filled with Spell/Traps and trap monsters that are still treated as traps, then his attack is:
(24x400)+2500=11300
I hope this inspires someone to make a Flare Neos OTK
You could hypothetically use Melodius to get it out with one sacrifice I meant White Night Queen
You should make a video of the 10 worst cards in general. I’m curious what the worst of the worst are.
Humanoid Worm Drake has a sick design. I had no idea it was in the anime
It's been written in the ancient books that anybody who can make a competitive Fushioh Richie deck will unlock infinite power and wisdom...
Top 10 RUSH Duel retrains
I have a strategy with fusihoh richie that won me a local tournament. You see, i took the card, and i placed it in the garage can, and by filling that spot with a different card, it allowed me to take first place. Would recommend.
You know it's a sad day for Worms when their arguably best monster makes this list.
What was messed up about that Waking the dragons flashback is after Weevil & Rex got beat up, a stray dog lifted it's hind leg at them. I think we all know what that implys
Have you ever made top 10 for monsters that can equip themself to other monster? If not, I think thats a good video, no?
9:49 Idea to make this card better by reworking it so that it’s negative effects are either more positive or optional:
_Elemental HERO Kherpri Neos_ (FIRE)
Level 7
Warrior/Fusion/Effect
_"Elemental HERO Neos" + "Neo-Spacian Flare Scarab"_
_Must be either Fusion Summoned, or Special Summoned by shuffling the above cards you control into the Deck. “HERO” monsters you control gain 400 ATK/DEF for each Spell/Trap on the field. Once per turn (Quick Effect), you can special summon 1 FIRE “HERO” or “Neo-Spacian” monster from your hand. If this card would leave the field: Shuffle it into the Extra Deck, then Special Summon 1 “Elemental HERO Neos” or 1 “Neo-Spacian Flare Scarab” from your Hand, Deck or GY._
ATK/2500 DEF/2000
THERE, I made the contact fusion optional while allowing you to also use other methods of Fusion Summoning, made the ATK/DEF gains apply to ALL “HERO” monsters you control, made it so you can soft OPT (Quick Effect) Special Summon 1 FIRE “HERO” from your hand, and retuned the end phase effect into a floating effect that lets you special summon 1 of it’s fusion materials.
You use Future Fusion on Worm Zero or Snake Rain to get Worm Victorys stats up its one of best ways to clear monsters in a worm deck so to good for this list.
12:25 Idea to retrain this card by making it so it can Special Summon itself from your GY or Banishment by tributing the tokens it summons:
_Resurrection Rose_ (DARK)
Level 7
Plant/Effect
_You can Special Summon this card (From your GY or Banishment) by tributing 2 Plant monsters you control. once per turn (Quick Effect), you can tribute any number of cards from your hand and/or field: Special Summon 1 Plant monster from your GY or Banishment who’s Level equals the number of tributes. If this card leaves the field and is Banished or Sent to the GY, You can Special Summon 1 or 2 “Resurrection Rose Tokens (Plant/DARK/Level 3/ATK 1200/DEF 1200)_
ATK/0 DEF/1500
Wall Shadow. Well back in my playground days nobody cared about Wall Shadow's effect. We play it as if it was a normal tribute monster.
another negative of white night queen it that at the end of her effect say "that target" which means that set card have to be set when her effect resolve.
Kid me used to run Wall Shadow in my deck and because of how it worked in the anime, kid me and others assumed it would have the effect to attack in defense position
Having a 3000 wall that can also attack was really good and really not how the card worked
After 15 years I just now learned that Magical Labyrinth was the labyrinth reforming itself and not a diamond fence
The silliest part of Fushioh Richie is that it mentions unnecessary details on its summoning condition instead of just saying "must be Special Summoned by the effect of Great Dezard".
I guess that one Phantasm Spiral player did not have access to Aqua Dragon for its 50 additional attack lol
i summoned fushioh richie in duel links 2018 gold rank 2 it didnt do much they couldn't get rid of then back then with their deck but they had outs in their deck im sure it was already lucky i even summoned it
Ugh yeah Insect Queen is awful. But that artwork is so beautifully iconic. And I always got stoked when Weevil brought her out in game and anime.
Mr Duel Logs why did you neglect to mention Neos Fusion in the Flare Neos section??
Even worse about Richie Rich... he was an ULTRA RARE. And Great Dezard was a Super. Extremely painful to open.
>Marik/Strings makes a deck focused on stalling and card drawing.
>Goes -4 by the end of his second turn.
He wasn't exactly the best duelist. "My Revival Jam + Jam Defender combo means you can't attack. So now, I activate Nightmare's Steelcage so you can't attack even more than you already couldn't while it also prevents me from attacking, muhahahaha!"
Fun fact : Worm Drake can be "considered" as Worm archetype since Worm archetype can target any reptile-type Worm monster
I actually made worm victory very valuable...I built a deck based on milling my own deck into the grave to use double summon to bring him out and using spells that flip him face up to nuke the field ...a niche use with worm zero.
Btw i have a question.I never see any video which related to Worm monster i know they suck but i really want to know about them.
They are a flip based archetype that center around.....being sort of bad at flipping
Oh and ally of justice in lore were built to fight them, hence the focus on light monsters in their effects
There was a recent video about their fusion monster, sadly I forgot the name of the video
can you do a top ten psychic cards and support? would mean alot!
