It was good to see Master Fu again, if only from decades ago, and to hear his "Choose an ally" spiel and see the Miracle Box as it used to be and the Gramophone it was kept in!
Man, this episode had some big things to take, 1. Ladybug is understanding that she shouldn't push Cat Noir away because of her fear of Cat Blanc, and must be willing to trust him more now that she knows he will always be the one she can truly rely on. 2. Master Fu has always been fearful of entrusting the miraculous to people he does not know but now that we know Ladybug and Cat Noir met him in the past, we know that Fu always knew he would meet them in the future and one day entrust the miraculous to them, that test he did to find two holders could have made anyone come to help him, but he always knew it was going to be them. 3. Nathalie has been suffering for so long under the effects of the broken peacock, and knowing now that Gabriel chose his obsession with Ladybug and Cat Noir over saving her and his wife with the bunny miraculous, Nathalie finally understands that Gabriel is far from the man he used to be, he has gone mad with so much power and his views of Ladybug and Cat Noir have blinded his better judgment 4. the show is hinting that the dog miraculous has not yet met its permanent holder. 5. Alix can not come back home until Ladybug knows its safe and to ensure Alix would not be akumatized, allowing hawkmoth to take the bunny back, she couldn't put the bunny miraculous back into the box either because Monarch now knows he can easily take all the miraculous from her yoyo.
Does this mean the master Fu somehow could recognize them through their mask?
this episode was very telling about how the rest of the season will go - or at least, that’s what it seems like. finally we’ll have the season where nothing is held back and everything is put to rest!
and about episode titles. there is one somewhere in there called “Deflagration”, which has me gravely concerned, because of what that word means…also, that episode “Action” has been confirmed to be a largely inconsequential episode that exists for the purpose of spreading awareness about protecting the environment.

Re your question about how Gabriel knew the kwami's names and powers, I understood that he got this knowledge by decoding the grimoire.
I suspect Lila will assist Gabriel by manipulating people, sowing mental distress, and creating opportunities for akumatization that Gabriel will try to exploit. But I wonder how successful these will be, since the people of Paris appear so united in their support for Ladybug and their resistance to Monarch.
This episode is such a good way to start the season THERES SO MUCH HAPPENING!
At the end of its second season, "Star Trek: Enterprise" had a powerful cliffhanger in which a mortal threat was revealed. The whole of the third season was then devoted to a single story arc, the mission to find and deal with the threat. It appears that Miraculous is now doing something very similar; we can expect each episode to flow into the next, and we can expect multiple plot threads to intertwine. We can also expect more character development: already, Ladybug is seeking to redress her past mistakes, giving Cat Noir the Rabbit Miraculous and making him integral to the quest rather than using it herself and sidelining him, though admittedly she has nobody else to call upon for the time being! Above all, we can expect more mature themes to emerge - "this ain't no kids' show no more!"
There's some fine continuity with earlier parts of the series here, including the visits to the events of "Animan," "Reverser," "Heroes' Day" and more. The origin of Bunnix is seen, and Alix's father is shown to be already aware of his daughter's pivotal role in Ladybug's future team. By far the biggest thrill (as evidenced by your reaction Luna!) is Natalie's desertion of Gabriel for wasting her plan to prevent Emilie from becoming ill in the past. There's another Star Trek parallel here, incidentally: Gabriel's behaviour isn't unlike that of one of the Star Trek movie villains, who suddenly drops a specific agenda in favour of a broader goal, though here Gabriel pursues a more selfish goal - it's as if his original aim of getting his wife back is no longer his priority, but rather a potential bonus amidst a megalomaniac desire to control the world via all the Miraculous. The fact that he loses one - yet again defeated by the remaining pair of heroes - is a final straw for Natalie. At this point, watching so early in the season, this leaves tantalising questions: what will she do next? Will she simply stop helping Gabriel, or even work against him? And what will Lila's involvement be? It'll be fun to discover the answers with you, dear Luna!
I don't imagine Nathalie's refusal to further help Gabriel is something he'll take lying down.

I think Gabriel is starting to forget who he really is at this point he no longer cares about his wife he just enjoys being a villain and doing bad things it’s just a game now since he never has to face any consequences for it he is just competitive he just wants to win the miraculous are now more like a trophy he wants like deer antlers
