i always think of “Optigami” and “Sentibubbler” as sort of a 2-parter, so it’s funny that their world-premieres were over a month apart! can’t wait for this next week and “Crocoduel” tomorrow!

I love how Kagami always wants to fight the villain without a miraculous (Desperada, Collector, Style Queen)! She is really brave!

I appreciate how the elevator scene served as a callback to "Oblivio", where we had another would-be reveal... also, another episode where Alya played a critical role, even if it wasn't revealed until the end.
This plan should have worked--it was brilliant. The only reason it didn't is because Gabriel and Nathalie aren't aware of the full extent of her new powers. Marinette's going to need all the allies she can get.
this episode was truly awesome! i’m remembering your reaction to “Sapotis”, when Alya first became Rena Rouge, and how mad you were that it wasn’t a permanent thing. and now, here we are!
the events of this episode are only mildly difficult to keep track of, but “Sentibubbler” has nothing on it…i was ultra-confused watching that one for the first time!
considering that Marinette and Adrien were about to reveal the truth to each other in that situation…i wonder if Jess and Aeon’s plan in the NY Special would have worked after all, had Techlonizer not mucked it up? of course, that was about a different reveal, but the principle still remains.
so, next for you to watch is “Rocketear”, huh? that episode is very not happy. and then comes “Wishmaker”, which pretty much sent everyone into the stratosphere back in August! good luck!

I've never really thought out the meaning of the name "optigami" but hearing Luna mention opti- as in eyes... Is "optigami" supposed to be a mash up of optical and origami? The design has always reminded me of origami and its purpose is to spy. It seems so obvious now lol
A little detail people tend to overlook is Wayhem being among the select few who were invited to the high class private award party for adrien. Wayhem is adriens number one fan, he has appeared throughout the seasons and video chats with adrien, if people remember from gorizilla, adrien said they could be good friend if he respected his boundaries, so Wayhem being invited to the award ceremony shows just how close they ended up becoming.
Mayura continues to use the peacock when needed, however she is much more cautious about when to use it in order to avoid worsening her condition. The writers wanted viewers to know that Marinette is perfectly aware that entrusting a miraculous permanently to a holder like Alya, who's identity is known by hawkmorth, is a big risk and that will be touched on later, but given the situations which have transpired in "Optigami", Marinette thought it over and decided to let Alya be a permanent holder not just because she trusts her, but because she realized she needs to take precautions should anything ever happen to her, after all, she got stuck in the elevator with Adrien during style queen attack and was unable to transform. And despite her hopes of cat noir coming to save them, she soon realized cat noir was not coming anytime soon. Although Alya ended up falling for hawkmoths plan, Marinette didn't hold it against her to much because Alya is aware of her mistakes and just what it could have lead to, and because Marinette realized she also almost fell for the same plan if it weren't for her lucky charm helping her. Marinette knows hawkmoth is going to greater lengths to try and defeat them, so if it werent for alya getting the turtle miraculous, the lucky charm would not have pointed to sentinino and optigami, instead it might have stuck to helping ladybug defeat style queen. Hawkmoth still has chloe as the holder of the bee miraculous on his data files, not because she is the holder, but because she is just the last person he knows of who used it.

people were a little confused how the kwamis were able to use a cell phone since kwamis cant be heard or seen through technology, but from what we understand, now that ladybug knows she can create something from something else, like how she uses the leftover purified magic from the akuma to create the charms for a victim, its likely the kwamis each gave her something of themselves to create a phone which could be used by kwamis in case of emergencies.

This episode showed how poorly LB treats Cat Noir when he makes a mistake compared to how she treats Alya when she makes a mistake or compared to how Cat Noir treats LB when she makes even worse mistakes. This episode ( and others coming down the line) Sadly, the show never calls out her insensitive way of treating him. Alya took a miraculous from the box without telling LB and gave it to Nino without telling LB then he turned out to be a sentimonster and almost made HM win, did Marinette yell at her , threatened to hit her with the lucky charm, humiliate her and tell her she can can’t trust her? No , she actually rewarded her and made her permanent hero. Marinette was so busy with her crush kissing someone else in Miracle Queen she snatched a girl away mid kiss and gave her a miraculous despite her identity being compromised. She then led HM to Master Fu and caused his defeat and HM got the whole miracle box. Did Cat Noir yell at her , humiliate her and tell her how untrustworthy she is? Nope. Did Master Fu blame her and humiliate her and call her untrustworthy? No, in fact he praised her and called her the best miraculous holder and made her the next guardian. Now, why is it only Cat Noir/Adrien who should be humiliated, yelled at and called untrustworthy when he mess up? LB messed up so many times yet he doesn’t humiliate her. In NY special the poor boy was forced to leave and his kwami who is supposed to guide him talked him into not saying a thing because they know all she does is get angry at him for his mistakes while he is understanding and encouraging when she makes mistakes. I can go into more examples like how insensitive she was in Reflektdoll but I will wait for you to see more episodes before I complete my rant. It is also truly unfair that she’s keeping Cat Noir out of everything (not just the identity reveal because I forgive that, I will not forgive keeping him out of everything however because he deserves better.She should have told him she shared her identity with someone. She should have included him in learning about the book and her plans even if she doesn’t want to share her identity with him.)
So much happens in the second half of the season that I’m genuinely a little scared for strike back

@@Luna-TK don't get use to the camera butterfly because he destroys it and it prov that he has a great idea but, then it goes like that and he gets dumber . I am getting a Pinocchio and beauty and the beast feel to some of the episodes and I don't know why. Ether he is hypnotize by the ring that he has been use on Adrian agreste nor he is a robot that can calculate where the kwam are and was built by older Lila who is the best liar ever and new hawkmoth nor mom agreste is behind this dad not acting like . bottom line he is not a good villain and dad. There is no heart and this guy and I am getting the feeling that flex is doing to kill gab along with him and mom agreste behind this but, I think that you are going to like catwalker because it is going to be catnoir realize that maybe he should respect her wish and date marinette not at first but from what I saw in season 4 ladybug is falling apart from his love for the Adrian agreste love thing and start falling for cat noir and I am a fan of this ship because they act like them themselves when they are not a fake version of themselves.

I enjoy this series, but my heart has long been with a much older one, Star Trek. And in "Optigami" the creators pulled off something that was done in Star Trek (Deep Space Nine) to brilliant effect: a flashback to events of a previous episode combined with the revelation of details we weren't shown during that episode. In Star Trek's case it was the revelation in the seventh season that the character Odo had been infected with a virus intended to eradicate his people, during his visit to Earth shown during the fourth season; in "Optigami" it's the revelation that towards the end of season 3, Mayura created a Sentimonster to spy on Ladybug and her team. It's a brilliant touch, and it again demonstrates how this season is dedicated to continuity.
It is certainly shaping up to be Alya's season, isn't it? We had the Reveal in "Gang of Secrets," and we've seen a lot more of Rena Rouge since then. She is entrusted with the Fox Miraculous on a permanent basis (the wish you made having seen "Sapotis" was at last fulfilled, dear Luna!) and she can now be fully integrated into the team. However, that prospect brings two concerns with it: firstly, as was obvious to us from the closing scene, Gabriel / Shadowmoth is onto her, so she may be as much of a liability as an asset; secondly, she led Ladybug to a solution that almost didn't require Cat Noir, and the effect of near-redundancy on him was fairly clear. Forasmuch as Ladybug can call more upon Rena Rouge, she will have to be careful not to do so at the cost of calling less upon Cat Noir. Knowing that as of the date of the premiere you have seen as far as "Hack San," you'll already be aware that this second concern continues and escalates beyond "Optigami."
It's so good to see you so happy in yourself and full of enthusiasm for the season, Luna. Onwards and upwards!
Just an fyi you will not like simpleman trust me
"Simpleman" gets too much hate from the fandom. Without revealing too much, I feel like it's the writers' attempt to get back to their roots and remind people that this is a kid's show, however much us older folks analyze, speculate on, and fight about it.
Yea simple man does get hate but I just don’t like it that much
people tend to forget the show is technically a kids show, simpleman was one of those episodes which was meant to provide a message for younger audiences, unfortunately it is the older audience who failed to identify the message if they have not yet personally faced a similar dilemma. The older audiences who did understand the episode state they knew its message because they faced a similar situation where their modern views clashed with another persons traditional views.
