I have the DF 2.1 Putter. One word to describe my putting now is "AMAZING" I am sinking everything, or in tap in distance. If you can get past the look of it, you will love it. My friends call it the "Minivan" I have had every type of putter out there, Blades, Mallets, Toe Hang, Face Balanced, Etc. This putter is by far the best putter I have ever used!!! I just shot 1 Under in my last round and it was mostly because of my putting. Nothing but 1 putts and a couple of 2 putts. NO 3 Putts!
Already did in August. Mezz1 Max, pistol grip. As a mechanical engineer it wasn't hard to buy into the principle. I have had a long history of high MOI mallets never realizing that made me fight the torque in the stroke so much. It did require me to change my grip though to let it swing itself freely (i.e. taking my thumbs off the top which is very uncomfortable at first). Word of warning: If your biggest problem with putting is reading the line correctly, LAB will not be a leap forward. Its biggest strength is getting the ball rolling on line. My reading of putts has always saved me a bit on the green, I just wasn't able to consistently bring the ball on that line until LAB. I've significantly reduced my 3 putts to max 1 every nine holes at hcp17 since. PS: As long as you're shaft-insensitive their online 'record yourself putting' fitting did work fine for me - although I have to admit that I projected a crossline laser on the wall behind me that helped them a lot.
@@jamesminisolo3805 Lovely nickname. my Mezz1 Max is a blue one with the white Accra shaft (not my first choice of color, but LAB's second hand site had it in my lie angle and length spec at reduced price), and my golf buddies gave the Dutch name for a hammer found in a children's carpenters set (Hamertje Tik for the older generation of native speakers). Which I actually think is OK with my history of previous nicknames for my extreme mallets (TM Spider Balero: Klingon warship..... TM Daddy Long Legs: Starship Enterprise)
I was given my choice of any of these to try and keep back in May. The only caveat was to give it a fair try and not sell it for 2 years. If I was going to buy one it would have been the LINK1. I’ve always been a blade putter and am a very good putter. I’ve never liked a mallet. But since it was not my money, I went with the one that seemed to have the most visible tech. The highest MOI. The largest sweet spot. The DF2.1 with a bright red head and a white shaft. Press 3° grip. It’s been the greatest putter I have ever owned. I’ve played over 100 rounds with it. I’ve missed putts because of speed and line, but I have not missed a putt because I made a bad stroke. In the month of August, I had just 2 Three-Putts. My only complaint is it takes up a lot of space in the bag. Would I buy one? Absolutely. As a matter of fact, I’m selling all my other putters and buying a LINK1. Not because I’m dissatisfied with the DF2.1 in any way. Just that I don’t need any other putter but LAB. New drivers, irons etc. have never really lived up to the hype. This has.
Gotta love the putter review on aerated greens 😂😂😂 Seriously though, one of the best reviews of LAB gear, as far as talking about the different offerings, grips, and shapes
Good choice Alex. I have the DF 2.1 and absolutely love it. People make a few comments, but they soon pipe down once they see the results. Drive for dough, putt for dough.
Key for these is to get fitted because it makes a tremendous difference. These are balanced very specifically for the player. Also the upgraded shaft is highly recommended. Absolutely love my limited edition white Link.1 with the white Accra shaft.
I've got a MEZ Max XL Broom Handle with a LA Golf shaft and I sink a couple 20 footers per round now. I've always been a good putter but this reduces variability and misses. It just goes where you aim.
Have a DF 2.1 in bag and literally only putter that has stayed in my bag for 3 years and is still in . My other putters normally misbehave and get kicked out of bag and put back into the cupboard after 8 months , never to come out again lol
Nice review! I’ve tried them all with the last one I tried being the Link. Liked it except for the gunmetal color once I had it in my hands. Now they’ve come out with black and white versions so could give it another try. It did feel light so maybe I should try the “heavy” version. They are a great company to work with and excellent customer service.
I have the Original Reno 2.1 with the original oval grip from Bill Presse IV when the company was called Directed Force Putters, before the name of L.A.B. was even used and it puts the best roll on the ball of any putter I have ever used or tried. It may be the Ugliest putter in the world, but its a thing of beauty as far as performance goes😊
I got fitted at Scottsdale Warrington for the Mezz 1. I found i lost the feel of the head with the Max. I have never putted better in my 35 years of golf and can not recommend these putters enough!
@@HowGoodGolf Thank you! Def enjoyed this. I (we) appreciate you always taking the time to reply to most, if not all, of our questions. If you get a chance, would you mind reviewing the Tour Edge lineup? 🙏
L.A.B. stands for lie angle balanced. Each putter is individually balanced by hand to the lie that fits you. If you mess with the screws you ruin the balancing.
The MEZ and MEZMAX heads are CNC-milled from a block of aluminium - NOT from steel as you state- The centre piece (where the shaft attaches) is steel..
*Which one would you pop in your bag?! Link? Mezz or directed force?*
Broom handle. Currently use Odyssey Metal X7 long putter.

Been using the Max Broomstick for a month now, and it will be the last putter I ever buy!

The winner this week on the PGA tour was playing a mezz.
Yeah! great point

That’s true !
The Mezz.1 and especially the Link.1 look quite good.

I was so hoping the DF Broom handle would have been in there. That is the one I am considering at the moment.
Best Putter I have ever used (DF3). Spent the last 3 days on the practice green and holed more puts than ever. Will be my gamer today.
Was playing a Mezz Max but ordered the DF 2.1 and will be here in 2 days. Can’t wait!
Daft time of year to be testing v expensive putters on greens that a pocket marked and probably about 3 on the stimp meter!
I got fitted at Scottsdale Warrington for the Mezz 1. I found i lost the feel of the head with the Max. I have never putted better in my 35 years of golf and can not recommend these putters enough!
Brilliant!
Nice review 👍🏼 lots of detail I wasn’t aware of.
Love my link 1
Tried a L.A.B., Love my Honu and Cobra 3D
I also have a honu, I will never change it.
My coach games the 2.1 and swears by it! I tried the mezz this spring, but I couldn't get on with it. I may give it another shot.
Mess Max is my life saver, best putter ever have.
Hi Alex. Are those weights replaceable or are we able to play around with the distribution?
Yeah you can change them but i believe it has to be with lab themselves - thanks for tuning into the video by the way, hope you enjoyed it!

You personally cannot muck around with the weight screws as it will throw off the balance of putter
L.A.B. stands for lie angle balanced. Each putter is individually balanced by hand to the lie that fits you. If you mess with the screws you ruin the balancing.
I use the DF 2.1 in broom and love it
Is it hard getting used to the broom handle? I use a reverse armlock and really like it but the broom handle has me considering it.
I only like blades for long putts. Distance control with a light putter is best.
Yeah i have heard a few people say that ! Thanks for tuning in
Just on looks probley the mez 1 however I do like the link head cover
Yes! It’s class
Love the content. 👍
Appreciate it!
Love it
🙌🏼🙌🏼
Mez i thank would work for me
Can you fit anymore clubs in your bag with that putter in it 😂 great review 👍
My caddy is going to need a caddy if I add that
Hahaha, and thank you ! Appreciate it

If you get a 2.1 then you need a golf bag with a putter holder on the outside,as iit takes far too much room in the bag.!!!!
Excellent video but I'm going to stick to my 25-year-old Ping Myday.
Haha thank you and fair enough!!
Too much going on with these putters for me, definitely prefer something simpler but they clearly work for a lot of people
Fair enough! thank you for tuning in
Do you have a PGA card?
Can someone explain the head cover obsession to me? It seems like a waste of mental energy.
🏌🏌🏌🏌🏌
Great to see you over on this channel too 🙌🏼🙌🏼
These are expensive putters, so they better work, which if you watch YT videos most who are gaming it are in fact putting better
