LeBron james carried an absolutely horrific 2007 Cleveland Cavaliers team to the nba finals
In the modern NBA era (post 1960) only nine NBA top 75 players have won a championship without another top 75 player as a teammate
      Rick Barry (1975)
      Bill Walton (1977)
      Hakeem Olajuwon (1994)
      Tim Duncan (2005) (2007)
      Kobe Bryant (2009) (2010)
      Steph Curry (2015) (2022)
      LeBron james (2016)
      Kawhi Leonard (2019)
      Giannis Antetokounmpo (2021)
As you can see, LeBron James is on the list and Michael Jordan isnt
Lebron james has won 17 playoff series, without an nba top 75 teammate. Michael Jordan won ZERO
In the year before Michael Jordan and LeBron James joined their team and the year after they left their team, their records were
      83-84 bulls 27-55
      84-85 bulls. 38-44
      92-93 bulls 57-25
      93-94 bulls 55-27
98-99 bulls 13-37 without Scottie Pippen
      00-01 wizards 19-63
      01-02 wizards. 37-45
      02-03 wizards 37-45
      03-04 wizards 25-57
      02-03 cavaliers 17-65
      03-04 cavaliers 35-47
      09-10 cavaliers 61-21
      10-11 cavaliers 19-63
      09-10 heat. 47-35
      10-11 heat 58-24
      14-15 heat 37-45
      2013-14 cavaliers 33-49
      2014-15 cavaliers 53-29
      2017- 18 cavaliers 50-32
      2018-19 cavaliers 19-63
      2017-18 lakers. 35-47
2018-19 lakers were 20-14 when LeBron James got injured on Christmas day.
As you can see When LeBron James joins a team, the team improves more than Michael Jordan and when LeBron James leaves a team, the team always goes into the tank.
Michael Jordan, excluding the 94-97 seasons, when the NBA moved the three point line to 22 feet, was a career 28% three point shooter. LeBron James is a career 34% three point shooter
Michael Jordan was a great defensive player, in an Era where you could handcheck. Playing defense is much easier when you can handcheck. For nearly 6'9 250 LeBron James' entire career he wasn't afforded the opportunity to handcheck.
THE EVIDENCE IS CLEAR..LEBRON JAMES IS THE GOAT!!!!!
      I have added a Postscript
So many have replied, that LeBron james didn't make the playoffs his first two years and Jordan did. What they fail to say is, in 1985, 16 of 23 teams made the playoffs. In 2004, 16 of 29 teams made the playoffs. It was MUCH EASIER Making the playoffs in 1985. Also, I don't know, possibly, maybe, Jordan had a HUGE ADVANTAGE considering he played three years of college basketball and LeBron James was 19 years old, and straight out of high school

As someone who was alive when the Bulls drafted Pippen, many Bulls fans did not like it. We viewed him as a "project" who was unknown, and from an unknown small school. Sure enough, when he arrived he was SUPER RAW and needed motivating. It was Jordan who lit a fire under his arse. It took years but eventually Pip stepped his game up. It was playing and practicing with Jordan that brought Pips game up. Still, if Jordan missed a game, or better yet, when Jordan retired, Pippen fell flat. He did not have anywhere close to the "killer will" of MJ. To put it bluntly, MJ "made him"..... just like he made many of the other players on those Bulls teams. Last point, and I never thought I would have to say this.... but right now, MJ is UNDERrated... yes, underrated. To see him play, to see the way he elevated those teams, to see his unparalleled fire, intensity, athleticism and skill "in person" was truly something to behold. There is NOBODY in the game today that comes close. The closet one was Kobe... and yet Kobe would admit Jordan was better.

pippen was included in the 92 dream team so that mj would finally decide to join and they can call it the dream team. when pippen was selected to the 50 greatest players, he was the most questioned because obviously there are more talented and accomplished players like dominique and mcadoo that were more deserving. in 94 when the bulls reached the playoff semis without mj, no one talks about the fact he had 2 other allstars on the team that year, one was even an allstar starter along pippen himself! in 94 they also had a clutch player named kukoc. his own coach didnt even trust him to take the last shot. then in 95, no one wants to talk about the fact that the bulls led by pippen were on pace to miss the playoffs and were saved when mj came back. after winning 72 games in 96, the bulls had a chance to win 70 again in 97 but pippen bricked (as in it didnt even make contact with the ring) the game winner in their last regular season game so the bulls had to settle for 69 wins. then in 98, pippen missed 30 plus games and the bulls still won 62 games even with rodman taking a vegas vacation in the middle of the freaking season! in the finals that year, pippen was useless with a back injury and the bulls still beat the jazz. and with all these, lebron fans would argue that pippen carried jordan! pippen became a good player because of mj. he won 6 chips because of mj. and now because of this ridiculous goat debate, lebron fans are making him out to be an even better player to diminish mj even more. he is somewhat relevant now because of mj. he owes mj everything and repays him by bashing him. what a class act!

I don't understand this hate about Michael from Pippen: if it's a way to sell your book for a higher price, then it's a bullshit, yes, he will earn a pittance, but will lose everything else. He played with a player who gave him everything, and what financially Pippen screwed up is he is his own Pinocchio. When even Isiah Thomas (who, for a second, was not taken to the Dream Team) acknowledges the greatness of Michael, in simple terms, that thanks to him the players have 53 cents from every dollar of the League's profit. Pippen's behavior is just kindergarten and absolute stupidity.

This is the first time in history that this information has been published about how bad Pippen actually was - his "Iggy-caliber" was inflated by the winning spotlight to all-time status - his perceived ranking is top 30 but his actual production rates rank outside the top 100 depending on the metric... Pippen was also a historic bricklayer and lane-clogger by virtue of the worst shooting splits in playoff history for a someone with 15 games and 35 MPG (3-pt era) - he did this twice in 96' and 98' Playoffs.. Many people don't realize that anytime a series was close or lost, it was Pippen's poor play that caused it like the 89' ECF, 90' ECF, 92' ECSF (X-Man debacle), 94' ECSF, 95' ECSF, 96' Finals, 98' ECF, 98' Finals, 97 Finals (3 APG and 4 TO or 42% shooting... 4 clutch-time points).. Pippen is simply the most overrated player ever - no one' benefitted from the winning spotlight more than him.

@@robesch88 And his supposed "leadership" skills were definitely lacking on those "Jailblazers" squads. Pippen gets the "good cop" label, but after Jordan got on his teammates (which is a thing called "leadership"), Pippen would routinely comfort them, sort of throwing Jordan under the bus in the process.
Anyone who knows Jordan's style, is that he's the type to get on you for blowing an assignment - likely chew you out (which LeBron won't do because he's Tweeting about the team needing to make changes) - but then pat you on the ass, clap his hands (which Kobe wouldn't do), say something encouraging, then do his press conference, and not dwell on any of it because he's thinking about that golf game of his, and why dwell on anything that he confronted. And the BULLS-machine never broke down along the way. They were always on point.
Pippen's an opportunist. He'd likely get around to talking to the guy (who Jordan had confronted), and let it be known that he didn't care for how Michael was talking to him, etc. Pippen always struck me as being a locker room politician; with his main equity being that he wanted to be seen as "The Good Guy" compared to Jordan.
Pippen throwing Phil Jackson - of all people - under the bus, shows you everything you need to know about Pippen. Phil Jackson ALWAYS spoke highly of Pippen - probably overrating him at times (IMO) - and undercut Jordan at times to help prop up Scottie (read Charlie Rosen articles because a lot of what was written were thoughts expressed by Phil Jackson). This whole "Pippen was actually the more important defender", and "Pippen was really the leader on those teams" type of nonsense, was sent by Phil Jackson via proxy (through again, Rosen articles).
Reading MANY articles throughout the '90s, I can't recall ever reading that Pippen was the main defender on those BULLS' teams. The first time I read anything suggesting that, was by Charlie Rosen. Then it took on a life of its own in the late '00s until now. Pippen was a great defensive player, no question, but for my money, I still think it's Jordan 1A on defense, to Pippen being 1B. Just like on offense, whenever you needed a clutch defensive play, I'd pick Jordan over Pippen any day of the week.
Pippen's son signed with Klutch Sports. LeBron and Phil Jackson have beef, and LeBron's people work tirelessly to undercut Jordan through the media. I don't doubt that MJ's son dating Pippen's ex-wife is a big part of what's going on, but the tipping point (IMO), is that Pippen is desparate for his son to make the NBA. His son was essentially on the Lakers practice roster last year.

LeBron needed to face trash teams to be associated with carrying nobodies, and in order for that narrative to stick, they devalue so many of the greatest players of this era his teamed up with. All to stay on that narrative, and what choice do they have but to readily blame them when they ultimately lose. LeBron got all his stats, he can't be the reason. Forcing superstars to become spot up shooters so Bron can keep his stat piling play style could never be the reason why Bron has a losing record. I've been saying this forever now, as someone who watched the bulls dynasty win their 6 championships. Jordan's "supporting cast" always gets talked about like they were all-time great. Just...no. In the entire 95-96 season when the bulls went 72-10, only 3 players on the entire roster averaged at least 10ppg. The bulls won championships off of their defense and Jordan's ability to dominate a game offensively(he had to, otherwise they wouldn't score enough points)
So many of the bulls players performed worse in the postseason in terms of fg% and ppg. Players like Kukoc and Kerr were incredibly streaky shooters, both of them famously would go on these streaks of bad shooting from 3 in the playoffs when it was needed most. Ron Harper was a solid perimeter defender and hustle player, but not an offensive producer at all. Would average 5-6 shot attempts per game and score less than 10 points a game. Pippen was the only other reliable source of offense on the entire bulls roster if you're talking about creating your own shot opportunities, whether it was on the fast break, off the dribble, spot up shooting, etc. Rodman was all-time great for tip ins and scrapping for loose balls and rebounds. Longley sort of did the same, but was mainly a paint protector. Who else are we talking about? Jud Buechler? Bill Wennington? Old, unathletic role players that played bare bones minutes and wouldn't even fit on a G league roster by today's standards.
This all in an era where teams RARELY scored 100 points in games, compared to today's league where teams scoring 120+ ppg is fairly commonplace... Jordan's ability to reliably produce at least 30ppg, and many times 40+, is even more impressive and puts it in a different perspective. And the Bulls needed him to take over games like that to win titles. In 1994 without him there, they didn't make it to the conference finals, they were near last in the league in terms of scoring and their offensive rating plummeted without him. The bulls won championships due to the combination of scrappy defense and Michael's scoring. And while Scottie may be mad about the whole Last Dance documentary and how it portrayed him, he doesn't get to rewrite history.

The truth is Scottie pippen was average at best and the only reason he was on top 50 greatest players is because Jordan carried him on to that list. I was there I watched their entire careers and Scottie was a good defender nothing else. Scottie couldn't even shoot free throws like 60% which is pathetic and he always shrank got worse come playoff time.

You're missing the point about the 95-96 bulls they were a defensive team. 23 times in that season their opponents scored 100 points. And 7 of those games were over time games.

    • @zxcvb3772
      @zxcvb3772 ปีที่แล้ว +3

The point here is that Jordan had no consistent help on offense. Just because they're a defensive team is not an excuse to shoot 39%.

    • @mister-8658

@@zxcvb3772 Jordan didn't need that much help they had a full bench of productive players. They would routinely have all bench players in the 4th quarter and maintain a comfortable 10-point lead.

Here’s the reality: Pippen was the perfect foil for Jordan - somebody with enough skill to help, with enough mental toughness to deal with the demands he put on his teammates and somebody who could act as a go between, for Jordan and the rest of the team but there were lots of players who could have replaced Pippen in the short term on those Bulls teams. With Pippen Jordan won 6 titles, with other players replacing Pippen the Bulls still win, just not as often. Without Jordan, Pippen has no Olympic Gold, no NBA rings and the Bulls are still waiting for their first NBA title as an organization.

Jordan praised Pippen to the Moon. Jordan always covered up for Scottie's mess, on and off the court.
Meanwhile, we have Pippen, dragging MJ's legacy to the mud.
Jordan put Scottie on the map. Jordan was already Jordan back then, even before Scottie became Scottie.
Jordan built Scottie from ground up, while Scottie just added one more stepping block for Jordan's.
Without Scottie, Jordan can still be the Greatest Player of his Era, but without Jordan? Scottie is not even Top 15 of his own.
That should tell you who needed the other more than the other.

Dude y'all just have no idea on the truth. The only reason that Jordan stats were what they were, is because it was all about Jordan. Pippen and the cast played to help Mike, be who he was perceived by the masses. Not saying Pippen is right how he is handling this, but Mike didn't win those rings by himself, but he gets all the shine. So how would you feel if in all those chips all they talk about is one guy, when it was a team effort. Stop being one sided and willing to talk down on Pippen when you didn't play not one minute. Jordan actually had the gall to say anything about Pippen, and bringing out the fact he was upset with a play call, and they were screwing him pay wise. So yeah I get Pippen being upset. If ya ain't got nothing good to say, stfu that's what Jordan should have did. He had no right at any time to talk down on the guy that helped him be who he is.

Pippen was the better brick layer than Westbrick. There were multiple playoff series where he shot less than 40%. Heck the whole 96 playoffs he shot less than 40, he shot 39% fg and 64% ft for the whole playoffs and not just 1 series! He shot 33% vs the Knicks in the eastern semis and that's in 5 games! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Jordan say anything remotely off color about Scottie. I could be mistaken but this certainly seems like a one way street. If anything, Jordan usually praises Scottie to the heavens. This is a terrible look from one of the most respected players in the game. Man has an amazing legacy but he’s still jealous. It’s pathetic.

I bet there's a whole bunch of ringless superstars who woulda jumped in Scottie's spot in a heartbeat and won those rings instead. You coulda traded Scottie for John Stockton and had the same success. I'm not going to shit on Scottie, and that's not meant as an insult to Stockton. Him and Malone were two time finalists against MJ and Scottie. That's him with the second best scorer in the league. Sure he could've gone one better with the best scorer in the league.

Calling Scottie Pippen a "Robin" is neither harsh, nor incorrect, nor a detracting statement. Pippen is one of the best of all time and may be the best #2 of all time.
What has happened in the past 4 years is terrible and unfortunate. I will remember the good Scottie Pippen did and try not to think about the dumb and false comments from recent years.
The Bulls dynasty is second only to the Celtics dynasty of the 50's/60's and, along with Michael Jordan being the driver, Scottie was a critical part of their dynasty.
Unfortunately, Scottie married a gold-digging hoe who left him and took half of what he earned on his own without her help.
Now he is lashing out at the wrong people because his heart was broken by a woman who is no good. Should have chosen a better partner than Larsa.
