Am I trippin or do people not know that in 2001 the NBA implemented the defensive 3 second rule making it easier for players to score at the rim. That’s part of the reason why players say Jordan would average 40 or 50 in todays game. But regardless congrats to lebron for being an iron man and taking care of his body to be able to play at a high level for so long. Jordan is still the goat though, no debate.

Wilt averaged 30ppg regular season, 22ppg in the playoffs and 18ppg in the finals.
He also went from an abysmal 50% FTs to 37% in the finals.
I'm sure Wilt could average over 40 today but he would still be unplayable in the crunch. And MJ was able to shoot the 3 if he wanted to. It just wasn't his focus.
Wilt's blocking would make a difference on D though !

Wilt averaged 30 for his career in regular season and 22 in the playoffs and 18ppg in the finals. Why ? Cos that's when they met good teams. Plus Wilt couldn't make FTs like at all 37% in the finals, even worse than the 50% regular season. I love jordan, especially, because I was 12 in 98. Having grown up and lived a little longer has made appreciate every stage of nba history even the ones that came before my time. Bill russell and wilt made it a league in the 60s. The 70s is the dark era where the game almost disappeared because cocaine use is the legacy of the 70s. But bird and magic made the game national and border line continental. Jordan made it global. And kobe and lebron contributed a little more to make the nba close to soccer (soccer is still world's ahead) but basketball is close to a universal game. Jordan is the greatest ever and maybe the most important piece because no player was easier to market as Jordan.

I'm thankfully in from Chicago and was a Bulls fan in the '90s... So, people might say I'm obviously biased, but facts are still facts, numbers are still numbers.
Not only is defense almost non existent in today's NBA compared to how it was played in the 90s, clearly making it easier to score today, but James has been playing for 20 years.... Yet, Jordan still has more MVPs, more scoring titles, more defensive teams, a higher point per game average, a higher steals per game average, an identical block per game average even though James is a much larger man, and Jordan was clearly a much better clutch player. James is also never won defensive player of the year where Jordan has, and James leads the NBA in having the highest turnovers in history.
I'm not sure how somebody can consider him the GOAT or even in the GOAT debate when he's played for five more years in Jordan, has not surpassed him in any above mentioned stats, and has a highest turnovers of any basketball player in NBA history. That doesn't make any sense. That is not a complete player. That is a player that clearly has flaws. The only thing you can really say that might favor James is the fact that he is now the all-time leading scorer. Again though, he's been playing for 20 years, has amazing longevity, and has put up very steady numbers his entire career. Just because you've maintained very steady stats, have played for years, and I've taken care of your body, does not make you a GOAT in an sport. That means have great longevity and have maintained steady numbers. That's about it.

That never happened to jordan you never saw jordan quit you did on lebron defense made much harder to score in the 80's and 90's you think if lebron played the bad boys pistons he would be doing what his doing now and the answer is no
Jordan literally was the best defender and offensive player in 1988 that is why he won dpoy and mvp only 3 guys in history jordan giannis and hakeem have done this and other years jordan was in the top 3 of defenders

At 11:21 Perkins asks -- "you know why lebron is able to average 30 right now at the age of 38?"
Yes, I know why = because the NBA has BANNED DEFENSE!!! It's no coincidence that he has scored more and put-up better numbers these past 2 years than when he was younger and in his Prime and Peak!! He isn't the only one either. When teams are giving up over 140 points in Regulation, Stats will follow!!

Well, thats an obvious fact. But it seems that some people dont think that way. They say "MJ never won without pipen!". For me, is like saying that he didnt won without a basketball...is much more meaningfull to say pipen never won without MJ, cause, as everyone knows, MJ was there and the bulls won. MJ left, they didnt won. MJ returns, and they win again. I mean, is like 1+1=2, but some people seems to not know that.

It’s everybody subjective opinion who the GOAT is and nobody is wrong. Teams win rings, individuals don’t. MJ said it best: it’s not who is the greatest player, it’s who’s the greatest team. The Chicago Bulls is one of the greatest teams in NBA history. Rings don’t mean much in the GOAT debate, Robert Horry have 7 rings, and hit clutch shots to win finals, but nobody puts Robert Horry in the GOAT debate. It’s all subjective opinions.
