This is awesome! Thanks for the very detailed instructions, too. This will be very helpful to me as I am getting ready to replace the factory radio in my Ford 500 soon.
@@esqu3l3to - I've watched this video several times. You make this look sooo easy. But, every time I gear myself up to try and attempt this, I scare myself out of the idea again. I sure wish you lived in Ohio so I could hire you to do this to my Ford 500. I'm finding that radio installation has changed a whole heck of a lot since my last install 30 years ago. Ha!
@@esqu3l3to - It's that harness part that's throwing me into fear so much, I think. I'm so afraid I'm going to end up crossing wires that shouldn't be crossed and my Ford 500 will leave without me.
Easily remove the console from the rear w/a thin thing, maybe the lever from a toenail cutter or even a hunting knife. With tool in place, move console gently back and forth.
Hey boss, can you show me how to replace the bezel itself cuz my climate controllers are all working but the bezel is broken so when I push the controllers they are not stable so I have to change the bezel but I don’t k is
the bezel should really easy to replace. there should be tabs that hold the climate controls is place, and or a fee screws. look around the climate controls. once removed you can replace onto the bes bezel.
I wish you would have explained the wires better and how you taped them all together. I have no idea what to do with all these wires and which ones i should tape to the original factory
Thanks and I used the ASWC-1 from axxess. I don't have the speaker wire diagram, however, if you use an adapter harness all you need to do is color match wire to wire including the speakers. You can also re-pin a wire or two on the adapter harness to wire up the ASWC-1 and not cut into or splice the factory harness.
Side question. I am not looking to replace my stereo(the car has too many miles on it), but it needs a cd lens cleaning. Do you know if that is easily accessible if I pull out the unit?
@@esqu3l3to True. I will have to look into that. The last disc cleaner I had said not to use on car cd players since it had a little brush glued to the disc. Warned of getting stuck in the player.
Makes sense, I havent used one in quite a whilse since I mostly uss bluetooth audio now or whem connected directly to the radio. They do sell them online like amazon so check there.
hi! i have an 05 500 limited and i was wondering does this effect the functionality of the parking sensors at all? or do the still operate and make sound fine with no modification
Hey, there are two violet (purple) wires as well as a green/white wire coming from the car. I know one violet is battery power. The other purple is 12v accessory? And what's the green/white wire for? Thanks
Are you talking about the wire colors from the factory connectors? I'm not familiar with their oem colors, best to buy a harness and that will give you the universal colors to ensure you connect all the correct wires together.
Question.. my girlfriend has a 2006 Ford 500 I want to upgrade her radio to a double din, however she doesn’t use the steering wheel controls and i honestly don’t think they work either.. is there a way I can just not install that black box and just wire it up manually since we don’t plan on using the steering wheel controls anyway?
You can do everything the same with the exception of the adding of the steering wheel control module. All the wiring will be the same but you dont need to do the extra wiring. I show it how to do it if you decide you want to addd one.
Most aftermarket units will fit, you just need to buy a double din dash kit to fit into your Ford. Do you have a preference like kenwood or alpine? Also, how much are you looking to spend?
Yes you can, you just need a double din radio that has Apple car play. Only difference would be the dasb kit that would need to be for a double din. Like this install I did here: th-cam.com/video/8gj0_Z6CjKM/w-d-xo.html

Honestly, its not to hard. If you get the adapter harness, it will make it so much easier. Whats your email?

Got it, you can delete it

email me at chucho_301@hotmail.com and I can walk you through how to wire up your radio. Did you buy an adapter harness?
what type of steering wheel interface did you use and do you have a wire diagram for speaker wires and such excellent video also

You can buy a lens cleaning kit because it would be a lot of work to take the radio apart to clean it that way.

Hello, upgrading your radio wont affect your parking sensors at all. They should function normal. The radio does not affect or control your sensors.

Did you have to do anything about the anti lock system when you replaced the radio?

Where can the aux cord go because I don’t want to remove the radio
Are you adding an aux input? Othee way is to use an fm wireless modulator
I bought a ford 500 2005 and the stereo doesnt work if anyone could help me with any tips i would greatly appreciate it !!
Does it power on or no?
@@esqu3l3to no it doesnt have any power when i connect the stereo to it
And you're talking about your factory radio or aftermarket?
How did you make the controls work from the steering wheel?
Using the axxess ASWC-1 mudule and wiring it in along with the radio harness
I have a 2006 Ford Fivehundred and im having trouble finding a radio screen with apple car play, that’ll fit. Any recommendations?
Most aftermarket units will fit, you just need to buy a double din dash kit to fit into your Ford. Do you have a preference like kenwood or alpine? Also, how much are you looking to spend?
I don’t have a preference really. Also I’m willing to spend something that is reasonable, worth the money.
What's your email? I can send you some links to a few units

Ok I will get you some links in the next few days
Can't locate the hot wire for radio In 2005 ford 500
Use a multimeter and test the end higher gauge wires. Also check for schematics on crutfield or sonix. Some do provide that info
Would you be able to put an apple CarPlay radio in there?
Yes you can, you just need a double din radio that has Apple car play. Only difference would be the dasb kit that would need to be for a double din.
Like this install I did here:

Where is the location of the aux. I can't find it anywhere
If yours has it, it should be in the middle console between the two front seats or by the shifter. Also check in the glove box.
my rear speakers dont work.
did you check all your speaker wires connections?
Why single din...?? Its double din.
Its what they wanted, I agree with going double din but its not my choice and the HU had everything they wanted and better sound quality.
This seems so damn hard to do
It is actually not as difficult as it seems. This car has been one of the easiest I have done.
@@esqu3l3to yeah I did it already. It wasn't that hard. The hardest part was how scared I was that I wired it up wrong
yea I get that. its why I always recomend using adapter harnesses. saves a lot of time and guessing.
@@esqu3l3to I did use one haha, I just was scared of wiring it up wrong to the radio harness
Stop saying this one when there's tons of wires. Say the specific color wtf
