Those spaceman sticks used to have one end that was coloured red so we kids used to pretend we were smoking. Years later they were required to remove the red colour as government worried it would encourage smoking.😂
I freaking love pink smokers but damn, I just about fell off my chair when you said they taste like the natural health part of the store 🤣🤣 so accurate

The L&P pineapple lumps aren't as good as the original pineapple lumps🤣

Yeah and there’s also l&p thrown in a lot of our other iconic original snacks in nz 🤣🤣still yum but not as good as original like the top comment said, but the real l&p fizzy drink is nz iconic aswell and it’s really good
Got to have original pineapple lumps and then have snifter lumps
They’re releasing too many flavours of the Pineapple lumps in my opinion and don’t taste nice. Just stick to the original flavour.

Back in the day they use to have candy cigarettes. They were like the space man candy sticks.

they are candy cigarettes they used to have red tips but they rebranded them after people worked out encouraging children to take up smoking probably wasn't a great idea, the pink smokers were an alternative breath mint but cinnamon instead of mint for people who hate mint flavor, they were popular with smokers hence the name
As a new zealander I love all of them, but my favorite is grain waves they're so good

At an NZ school if you had a bag of those pink smokers, people would trade their whole lunch box for a hand full, our singer, leader and guitarist gave them out for free after kapa haka as a treat hahah (they would go round the friend groups too lmaooo)
Hi from New Zealand. Whittakers chocolate is a Kiwi favourite. There's also a jellytip ice cream on a stick and in a tub. Thanks for sharing 🙂

The jelly tip cookies (biscuits in this part of the world,) are a clone of the Tip Top Jellytip ice-creams that are on a stick. I loved them as a kid. All too sweet really.

Im from NZ and i used to live near the whittakers chocolate factory, there were days when you could smell the melted chocolate it was so good!
Love when you try new flavors :D Remember when you did the different flavored sodas? That was fun!!! Do something like that again.

Spaceman Candy Sticks use to have a red tip and as kids we would pretend to smoke them.... they removed the red tip for that reason :D

Hard case the last chocolate you tried was the same as the almond gold chocolate yet 2 different reactions. Maybe as it was straight after the dark chocolate. Whittakers is still a family owned business still using the best ingredients to create oustanding quality chocolate. Unlike other chocolate manufacturers that have done things like swap out the cocoa for palm oil and other cheap methods which are not environmentally friendly

Same chocolate as the main ingredient but the flavors like almond peanut and coconut were different

Pink Smokers are for older folks imo. They're very chalky and hard and my grandad used to eat them but he also used to be a smoker, which is what they're intended for.

so im from NZ and pineapple lumps are pineapple chocolate Lollies and L&P is a lemon drink so they mixed the classic treats into a snack!

I loved pink smokers as a kid and the original pineapple lumps are way better than L&P ones though I think you guys would love the drink L&P

Here in NZ, we don't usually have chocolate flavoured fudge's. We do have alot of russian fudge though. If you grew up here I think you would get a bit more used to the taste of it. I understand though.

The space man candy sticks here are usually found on ice cream in Taranaki.

The Whittaker chocolates and Licorice are my favourites. Though you do need to get a licorice flavour you enjoy.

the lumps are a harder marshmallow, they are delicious, ps the smokers are like a rose kind of flavour, they are like 9/10. whittakers is the best chocolate. spaceman candy sticks we use to use them as pretend cigaretts as kids, they use to have a red dot at the end. The Jellytip is actually an ice cream in nz and they turned it into a biscuit version,. those licorice are one of my favs as well, there is a pink strawberry flavour and an orange one, they are super sweet. It was nice to see you try some kiwi treats!

Lol pink smokers were the go to for smokers wanting to freshen the breath way back when. Thats what i remember about em. Didnt know they still exist.

Ah Spaceman Candy sticks. When I was a kid they used to have a red tip so you could pretend to smoke. Took us a while to figure out that encouraging kids to take up smoking was maybe not the best idea 😂
I use to eat pink smoker for quitting cigarettes I think that's why it smells and taste strong but they did help me give up

the pascall L&P lumps. idea came from New Zealand drink called L&P (Lemon & Paeroa) I'm please you enjoyed trying out our New Zealand made snacks. Oh for the vege chip. the one called Kumra. You known it as sweet potatoes.

Pink smokers were made to take away the smell of cigarettes off your breath after smoking, hence the smell and flavour.
For the "smokers" they were in part to override the effect of tobacco breathe so they are strong

I am from new zealand grain waves r my go to chips and the rjs i like cadburys as the factory was in my home town then got moved to australia :( its halfway bulldozed for new hospital sad eh,havent tried alot of the other snacks as they dnt appeal to me pineapple lumps r better was fun watching :)

Weirdest choice of kiwi sweets I've ever seen. Not really any locals idea of a go-to selection. No sane person would eat smokers, just people who need to give up smoking. They are clove/cinnamon flavoured more than anything else.
