Comparing hersheys to cadbury is like comparing a microwave burger patty to a fillet steak
I’m a brummie and Cadbury World is literally 30 minutes from where I live in Birmingham. Definitely ones of the best things to come out of Birmingham next to like Black Sabbath and pens xD

Yeah that's because Cadbury has vegetable oil in it and Hershey's actually uses real milk one of the only chocolate brands in the world that still does....

First time I've heard somebody complain that Galaxy chocolate is too milky. It knocks Yank chocolate into the middle of next week.
We just prefer Cadbury :) Galaxy is still good though!

There is no such thing as "a really good Hershey chocolate". People in the UK tend to like either Cadburys or Galaxy chocolate because they're very
different.
Cadbury is bomb!!!!! I could only eat cadbury for the rest of my life and be happy lol
@@KristinAndJamil Cadbury chocolate is nice I agree but it's nowhere near as nice as it used to be (say, 10 years ago). It used to be the best. Now quite honestly I prefer Galaxy. I wish Cadbury hadn't changed their recipe (although they deny it).
@@betamusic5487 it’s tag line was “a glass an a half of milk in every bar”. That cut too much into their profits and was dropped which pains me still but I still prefer Cadbury as an everyday bar

These two are a prefect example of what Hershey chocolate does to American taste buds. How anyone cannot like a double decker is beyond me.

I find Hershey’s alright, some do taste like crap but they’re honestly quite good. Except from some other American sweets that hurt my mouth for like 5 days.

I am a Canadian and very familiar with both UK Chocolate and American alleged Chocolate. Obviously the word "alleged " addresses my view of the matter. It likely speaks to the past history and experience of these two "tasters" that they do not have an appreciation for just how much better it is to actually taste a chocoloate bar that actually contains some degree of Chocolate vs the all chemical/chocoloate substitute products.

I’m confused how you hated the minstrels but the other galaxy’s were ok.. it’s the same chocolate inside the minstrels 🤣 🤷🏻♀️lol! Ps. Cadbury’s are 1billion times better than that stuff you call chocolate over there 😂 xx

I like galaxy chocolate but minstrels were always just not it for me, they were I edible for me. Idk y tbh I just hated them.
Fry's Turkish delight is based on the Turkish jelly made with rosewater and jelly, Hershey's chocolate tastes like sour milk to me, I suppose I could get used to it
Chomp and curly wurlys were my childhood in the 90's. That Curly Wurly is a travesty. It's absolutely tiny. They used to be huge

Yeah! I remember the foot long ones that I used to roll up and stuff into my mouth all at once! They've changed the fudge caramel centre too! Should be bloody illegal!!! ☹😬😁
That was a 'snack size' Curly Wurly. a regular Curly Wurly is bigger, but 'huge'? I think there's a bit of exaggerated selective memory going on there. Our favourite chocolates from when we were kids always seem to have been a lot bigger in our memories. (A case in point is 'Wagon Wheels' chocolate biscuits. I always remember them as being almost the size of dustbin lids when I was a kid, but officially, their size hasn't been changed in all the time they've been making them.
(By the way KristinAndJamil, if you ever get the chance to try Wagon Wheels, don't be fooled by the wrappers: The one with the RED wrapper is a straight chocolate and marshmallow biscuit; it's the one with the BLUE wrapper that also contains raspberry jam - I can't count the times I've bought one type, thinking I was buying the other!)

You can’t eat galaxy products straight after Cadbury’s products. It makes them taste weird. You should definitely try the galaxy stuff again on its own.

As an expat Brit now living in Turkey I assure you that Fry's TD is nothing like the real thing. True TD is pieces of semi hard gummies covered in fine sugar. They come in fruit flavours, but also Rose Water flavour which is what flavours the Fry's TD. They do not come covered in chocolate!

I belive that British chocolate has a preferred temperature to eat. Being cold and miserable most of the time it has an effect on the texture before the heat of the mouth melts it.
Eating chocolate in the summer heat is not the same as the rest of the year.

I never used to eat chocolate in the summer as it did not taste the same. Then a tv ad suggested putting your chocolate in the fridge. It had never occurred to me. My favourites are boost and starbar.
It's great that you took everyone's advice after the last video. Over here ive heard people say that if you love Cadbury you tend to like galaxy but not love it and vice versa, except me as I love both. 🙂 Great video and very respectfully commented, especially as they are our nation's treasures 😃

Galaxy is just as good as British cadbury (not US version). Hersheys tastes like it's been left at the back of the cupboard for five years without a wrapper.
You need to get a Star Bar the best chocolate bar in the world similar to a boost both made by Cadbury but 10 times better 👍🏻

Yeah,she can clearly see the A in the word lol I never get why so many Americans say carmel and don't pronounce the A. But then again us Brits have some stupid pronunciations, like lieutenant we pronounce LEFT tennent it's sooo dumb and the American way of saying it makes much more sense.
I pronounce 'Daim' like 'Dime', I am in the north of England haha.
It's because they used to be called Dime and we just stuck with it even though they renamed them haha.

The difference between UK and US ( Hersheys) Chocolate, I think is in UK we use whole milk, as opposed to powdered milk in US, probably for profitability.
This is why UK chocolate is so more creamy and delish

@@hypo0072 Double Deckers used to be made with real coffee, raisins, corn flakes and rice crispies. The current bar contains non of these ingredients.

Hiya guys, im english and cadburys is definately the best chocolate in the world! ;-) i went to new york once,and tried a hersheys, and it tasted like vomit! lol

@@KristinAndJamil As a Brit No it has not. Hershey's has always been disgusting. They added an ingredient to keep it from melting - yoric acid or something in the 1940s. I tried a bar in Saudi Arabia In 2010 and I took one bite and spitted it out in a bin immediately and threw the rest of the near intact bar in the same bin. Hershey's has not gone downhill it has always been vomit inducing. If you guys grew up with it and like it KEEP it.
Before WW2, Hersheys invented a method of preserving the milk in milk chocolate by adding Butyric Acid. This is the sour taste also found in vomit. To try to counter this they added extra sugar.
Oh Galaxy chocolate is soooo good. For me it's the best chocolate we have in the UK (Ripple is definitely my number 1). Good on you for trying so many of our chocolate bars. Really enjoyed watching your reaction video 👍.

You should do one with sweets things like starburst , fruit pastilles and wine gums are far better than most chocolate bars

Here is the funny thing about Cadbury’s...... you actually can’t get it in the US. Hershey’s had a legal entanglement with Cadbury’s and in the end Cadbury’s gave Hersey’s a license to manufacture. Read the fine print on the packaging.... it will say Hershey’s, and Hershey’s don’t manufacture it as well.
On the rare occasion you find real Cadbury’s it... is... so... much... better

@@KristinAndJamil Cadbury originates from a village called Bournville in Birmingham, England. Their chocolate factory is open to the public, so you can go and see the chocolate being made! It's been established since 1824 🥰

It seems the creamier and smoother the chocolate, the less they like it. Galaxy is and has always been elite affordable chocolate, a step up from Cadbury's. To dislike Galaxy, but love Hersheys, boggles my mind. Ive tried a hersheys bar and kisses and they taste of plasticised vomit, with no creaminess. Can only imagine how you'd react to Lindt chocolate 😂
Galaxy used to be one of the best chocolates out there and their tag line was "Smooth and creamy, Galaxy. The smoothest part of the day." It was the only chocolate I would eat. Then they changed the recipe. I thought I just got a bad batch. But it's now rubbery. It's no longer smooth and creamy. Yuck. Cadbury's all the way now.

Cadbury's have been around for about a hundred years. They even built houses for their workers to live ( never known before ). They also got to buy the chocolate at a very discounted price

You are 100% right, Galaxy chocolate is no match for Cadbury! Try the Terry's old Jamaica rum & raisen dark chocolate, it's the dog's bollocks!!! That means excellent in English! 🤣

Going slightly off topic, I also loved the delightful, 'rum & raisins', ice cream. It was full of flavour, but the type of stuff you get today, is so bland & always a disappointment !! I cannot recall the brand name (or names), but it was a regular option from the ice cream man/van, etc.

Nah we have European chocolates in America we grow up on too so our tastebuds aren't the case like many assume just like some brits don't like Galaxy. For me I hated Areo, KitKat and Mars. The double decker, milkybar and wispa were whatever and I loved picnic, dairymilk, lionbar, starbar, timeout wafer and Bounty. I currently have Galaxy, toffee crisp, Maltesers and caramac on the way to try out😊
@@vivaeuropa I dont know any Brits that don't like galaxy lol. They might prefer cadbury but they never hate galaxy. Imported bars might not be the same quality. I know I've tried our brands Australian imported and they dont taste the same, and are not the same bars we have. Did u try Aero mint? I love that. Aero is nestle so its sweet chocolate, not as popular here as cadburys and galaxy. I love milkybar, the best white chocolate. I never eat double-decker, I hate it too but most Americans love that bar lol. The timeout wafer is not considered chocolate bar, its a biscuit to us. Toffee crisp is nice and Maltese are galaxy choc covered, they're so popular 😁
Cadbury's used to taste so good back in the day, before it was sold to the US! 🤣 It had the most beautiful taste! Still okay, but you'll never get that taste back!

In California the Cadbury bars are sold in grocery stores with all the kinds like plain milk chocolate, fruit and nut, nut, and caramel, plus kinder bueno is everywhere!

When I was younger and back in the UK I always preferred Cadbury over Galaxy. Galaxy was the one type of chocolate which regularly gave me headaches.

The thing about British chocolate is that it tastes 1000x better when you don’t chew it and just let it melt.
I love this video. You guys look so happy. I wish you could have tried Cadbury's and our other chocolates under the old recipes. A lot of the recipes have replaced ingredients with cheaper palm oil these days. If you get the chance to try "Green & Blacks" especially their milk chocolate or dark chocolate, it is fantastic. Hotel Chocolat do excellent chocolat if you ever visit the UK.
