medics uber is like 20x more important than valkyrie. Ults are kept on death, there are 12 of them and valkyrie isn't even one of the best. Uber is one of its kind (i guess banners are like mini ubers) and pro games are based so much on dropping meds, building uber.
Acquiring Uber and using it properly needs teamwork to pull through. Valkyrie is just an ability that needs to be charged and doesn't necessarily need teamwork to be effective since you can distance yourself from your opponents with flight. Really odd that her ability has no form of cooperation despite her being a support character.
Another important thing to factor about healing is the burst heal of the crusader's crossbow, which is argueably the better part of using it. Since it's not affected by crit heals, you can quickly give a bunch of health to a teammate to hold them over before the crit heals kick in.
@@Toofty I also would have liked it if you factored in that the crossbow auto-reloads when not being held. Meaning you can switch between crossbow and medi-gun to heal someone much faster than would otherwise be possible.

I thought "how about Melee as a base for damage?" But tf2 has 65 DMG to 125 avgHP and overwatch is 30 DMG to 200avgHP. You're right, the games are mostly incomparable.
You have to remember that everyone in TF2 got dedicated melee weapons, while most Overwatch heroes prefer a quick melee strike with whatever's already in their hands It's only natural to expect a bone saw would be more effective in combat than a healing staff
It is my feeling as a personal competitive medic main myself that you left out the crossbow. Not accusing the video or anything but the burst healing of the crossbow is honestly better than the medi gun itself, that combined with the auto reload feature of it makes medic (in my belief) have much higher skill ceiling due to aiming/managing arrows and more heal potential
Shout out to all you comp medics. That crossbow has saved my ass so many times, especially as a heavy main, who is often down 100+ hp and still fighting

About matching your heal Target's speed. I am not sure if you are talking about pubs or 6s, but in 6s this change is HUGE. It completely changed the meta in 6s because scouts can now be ubered reliably, and they can get medic out of trouble. This is a very big change to the game.
If you ask me it's about the same overall. Both have easy characters to master, both have extremely difficult characters to get the most out of. And in both the main skill you're going to need is game sense.
@@valipower4468 honestly, Overwatch's just a different dynamic. There's depth to it, but it's a different kind of depth. Also the recent patch coming to Overwatch improves it a lot.
In TF2 you have a lot more to learn per character, in Overwatch you have to learn the basics of all the heroes. In my opinion TF2 is a lot harder to master.
Quick fix uber just kinda pimp slaps any of mercys healing, and I feel that 150% on demand is worth more than occasional revive since as a healer your one job is to keep your team alive not to bring them back when they die since you were SUCH, A BAD, DOCTOR! Still though great video! I love these comparisons!
@E Lafon I'm aware, but it's only available every 30 seconds. Overheal can buff multiple teammates at a time on demand. It's also able to turn the tide as rather than multiple light classes getting killed by a sniper each would be able to survive an uncharged shot and retreat to cover rather than respawning, which in tf2 can take considerably longer making prevention of the death worth even more.
@E Lafon Tf2 is team based as well, especially in competitive modes such as Highlander. And a numbers advantage is applicable to literally any team based shooter, more people in the fight = higher chance of success. And once again tf2s longer respawn makes losing a player just as if not more punishing than losing someone in Overwatch.
@E Lafon A team with good team work vs a team without it means the team with it will win 9/10 times. And even if it's not as much teamwork required it's only because Tf2 has considerably less Rock Paper Scissors balancing, every class except maybe medic has a moderate chance to beat classes that counter it where as in Overwatch an actual counter is almost always a HARD counter. You can be individually effective even against classes who have an advantage over you in Tf2 where as in Overwatch a character with an advantage over you is usually "I have been trained for my entire life to eliminate you in particular, prepare to die!" Unless the advantage is extremely minor. Not saying that's a bad thing, I like both games and think the way they balance works well for each, but Overwatch is much more X beats Y than Tf2 and as such you are more or less forced to stick with your team so that Z can counter Y when they attack X.
Idk if it's a joke but Mercy defends herself with mobility. She is practically an evasion tank. Why fight her enemies if she can keep helping her team while avoiding death
@@dankdilly Mercy can Defend and Support but not Offend, while medic can Defend, Offend, and Support, especialy with his Crusaders Crosbow and Ubersaw, which are for Defense and Offense, while the Medi-gun is for support
in my calculation: the medic is more powerful because he is intelligent and he even created his own stuff like inventing a beam that heals organic beings
You also forgot to mention 2 additional passives that Medic has: his current health regen doubles if he heals an injured ally. Medic's medibeam also provides 50% duration reduction of most debuffs (jarate, mad milk, wetness, fire).

12:02 I would just put angelic descent on a 2 since it pairs really well with "super-jumps" and without it pharah+mercy wouldn't be the thing it is. The damage amp is usefull but i still don't use it as much, I would also put it at a 2-3. Great video by the way!
At higher levels of play, the main and pretty much only purpose of mercy is to amp the damage of the dps heros (due to her low amounts of healing compared to other supports). A perfect comparison would be spy in highlander, where his main purpose is to gather intel rather than simply going for backstabs.
You should also look at crossbow heals(46-92hp/s) and quick-fix(33-100hp/s, 300 while ubercharged). Those greatly increase healing speed. Best one is amputator that heal entire team at once with ridiculous speed(25-75hp/s on single teammate, 275-825hp/s on full team). All math is done so please, reconsider your opinion. Edit: fixed errors and made slighly easier to read.
*Medic:* Is devoted to keeping you alive while still being a mad scientist. *Mercy:* More concerned about her self while trying to be honorable. Its like pottery, it rhymes.
Tf2 is a valuable game with each character different than the other When it’s overwatch it feels like everything is getting recycled with little changes
Quite surprised you didn't speak about the quick fix. Sure the downside is pretty heavy, but i was interested in the fact if medic can go ahead of mercy flat rate (both in combat ) due to the upside of the quickfix
I would say mercy has a higher skill ceiling because of things like super jumping, beam uptime and knowing when to use damage boost. I main Mercy and a lot of newer Mercy’s tend to either not use these abilities or not take them into account. Edit: Damage amp is one of the most impactful things Mercy has in her kit, especially with Valkyrie since she can give her whole team a damage boost. (I still really enjoyed the video this is just a Mercy main’s brow on some of the stats)
If you can consistently hit Crusader's Crossbow shots, it actually outheals not just the Medigun but also Mercy, even at minimum distance from the target. That burst healing makes a huge difference in fights, too; it's like getting an Ana grenade that does more healing going by your ratio every 1.6 seconds, but for a single target. Edit: further, the Amputator sort of changes everything if we're comparing theoretical healing maximums and not just standard healing rates. Say that you have a team of heavies who are all standing by you and they're at 1 HP. You'd be healing 275 HP per second since the aura affects all of them. Now say that they've been out of combat for 15 seconds: that's 825 HP per second. The taunt lasts 4.2 seconds, so at the absolute most extreme maximum, you could be healing up to 3,465 damage in just 4.2 seconds.
Overwatch has a lower skill ceiling for single characters however probably has a similar, but slightly higher skill ceiling than tf2 due to the large cast
*laughs in almost 2000 possible loadouts, each changing how a class is played (160 weapons/9 classes/3 slots is average of about 6 weapons per slot 6*6*6=216 combinations per class *9=1944 it's on average ok)
A german mad doctor that stuffs baboon embryos into his teammates and requires skill and good positioning to play as vs a generic angel chick that requires 1 button to heal and escape
@E Lafon and her being able to do that creates stalemates and slows games down, the opposite of that is ubercharge, which was specially designed to break stalemates and chokepoints... and medic can also resurrect people from the dead, but he doesn't need a fancy staff or a pair of angel wings to do that, all he needs is some blood and animal organs
Medic: I can make people immortal for a short time and can heal people above their maximum health as a boost. I even a very interesting character in the comics and am a huge part of lore. Mercy: look at meee! Im flyyying!
Great video. But ... I feel you undermined the importance of the crossbow, and not only at long ranges. Long range is actually where it sees the smallest usage I'd say. It's heal rate is better than the medigun I believe, it allows a burst of health every other second while you keep beaming during reloads, it can bypass some healing reductions and gives time for crit heals to build ...
Medic's weapons make it VERY DIFERENT from mercy, Amputator: dispenser simulator 2019 Quick-Fix: faster healing than mercy(33.3 hp/s) Crossbow: 150 hp in one shot Solemn Vow: OP tool to see enemy's health (banned in 6v6) Ubersaw: 100% krit rate And don't forget the ubers from the mediguns, krits, invulnerability, virtual invulnerability(quick fix, since all the damage you recieve is almost instantly healed), and resistance to almost everything
It's not OP at all, Assuming your team calls out there damage you'll know the enemys aprox health anyway. 6s just bans basically anything that they want and give a bs excuse. On top of that it is legitimately impossible to have 1 of each class on a team in 6s so deciding if things are op or not based on that is always ignoring 33% of the characters.
@@pandemonium2536 Is OP, I know that seeing health is not a big deal, the problem is seeing UBER, 99% of competitive medic is uber advantage, so knowing your opponent's uber is a big deal, that's why is banned (if you couldn't see uber it would still be powerful but not banned)
@@sho3003 Also about seeing uber, You and the enemy medic both almost have to be out of position to take advantage of it as medics should be behind there team. And people count uber already so the same thing I said for health counts here.
In terms of impact, I'd give the resurrection like at least 4, imagine finally killing a very annoying enemy that was rolling your team after putting in a lot of effort just for them to get resed a second later

I thought "how about Melee as a base for damage?" But tf2 has 65 DMG to 125 avgHP and overwatch is 30 DMG to 200avgHP. You're right, the games are mostly incomparable.
You have to remember that everyone in TF2 got dedicated melee weapons, while most Overwatch heroes prefer a quick melee strike with whatever's already in their hands
It's only natural to expect a bone saw would be more effective in combat than a healing staff
Don't you mean 195 damage to 125 avgHP

It is my feeling as a personal competitive medic main myself that you left out the crossbow. "Vait, it gets better! So when ze man *woke up,* his skeleton was missing, and ze doctor was never heard from again!"
Yeah. Medic removed a guy's skeleton without killing him, which is mind-blowing when you consider the nervous system and how intertwined with your bones it is (especially your brain and spinal cord).

About matching your heal Target's speed. I am not sure if you are talking about pubs or 6s, but in 6s this change is HUGE. It completely changed the meta in 6s because scouts can now be ubered reliably, and they can get medic out of trouble. This is a very big change to the game.
I don't know why you are worried, skill ceilings are higher in TF2.
Also the recent patch coming to Overwatch improves it a lot.
per character the skill ceiling is far higher on tf2, but overwatch forces you to learn much more very different characters to succeed.
@E Lafon And in the English Language you have good grammar.
@E Lafon A team without teamwork in tf2 just gets destroyed (unless carried by a pro player).
@E Lafon why did you say your comment twice?
The medic, the medic does, because he heals our hearts when we are sad.

There's a reason why few people use the BASE jumper. If you want mobility as a healer, somehow becoming a sitting duck doesn't seem appealing
At higher levels of play, the main and pretty much only purpose of mercy is to amp the damage of the dps heros (due to her low amounts of healing compared to other supports). A perfect comparison would be spy in highlander, where his main purpose is to gather intel rather than simply going for backstabs.
Medic can resurrect in MvM. You didn’t mention this but it’s worth noting.
Mercy:I can resurrect people
Medic: laugh’s in mvm
* LAUGHS IN NO COOL DOWN *
You should also look at crossbow heals(46-92hp/s) and quick-fix(33-100hp/s, 300 while ubercharged). Those greatly increase healing speed. Best one is amputator that heal entire team at once with ridiculous speed(25-75hp/s on single teammate, 275-825hp/s on full team). All math is done so please, reconsider your opinion.
Edit: fixed errors and made slighly easier to read.

Nop meryc has 0/9999999
I would say mercy has a higher skill ceiling because of things like super jumping, beam uptime and knowing when to use damage boost.
I had no idea about the crit healing mechanic. Good video man!
What about hoovy (burst healer) with the bananas . Vs Ow Mercy .
Overwatch has a lower skill ceiling for single characters however probably has a similar, but slightly higher skill ceiling than tf2 due to the large cast

Medic's weapons make it VERY DIFERENT from mercy, Amputator: dispenser simulator 2019
Quick-Fix: faster healing than mercy(33.3 hp/s)
Crossbow: 150 hp in one shot
Solemn Vow: OP tool to see enemy's health (banned in 6v6)
Ubersaw: 100% krit rate
And don't forget the ubers from the mediguns, krits, invulnerability, virtual invulnerability(quick fix, since all the damage you recieve is almost instantly healed), and resistance to almost everything
