I think they got tired of people getting POTG while staring at a butt, or while dead, honestly. You could ult from the other side of the map and kill people you couldn't see at all. It was kind cheesy - but I miss it.
Yeah he was basically a good counterpart to engi from tf2 but now he is a foreshadow by every single engi and symettra is literaly good at being the engi compared to torb
Im a bit sad i wasn't playing Overwatch back then Torb used to be even more like Dell Conagher than I expected, what with the sentry upgrades and providing extra health to teammates!
Concept was cool but outside of defenses type game modes he was a throw pick every single time, the developers made the game and built the game at first with the hopes that the player base wouldn’t one trick or main a single hero (Lol)

I honestly have mad respect for Torbjorn players who hit shots accurately with that primary fire because I'll be honest I'd rather blindly hammer swinging other than trying to hit someone with a small magma ball
as much as his new ult makes more sense cuz, yk he actually shoots out Molten Larva, i do kinda prefer his original ability :( plus his armor packs need to come back >: ( his original ult voiceline sounded so much cooler too
Torbjorn is not as fun as he use to be and he's no longer a builder a forger like he use to be he's more of a makanik now his magni skin should be removed his mask should be removed some of his sprays should be removed 2 of his highlight entros should be removed oh ya and molten core should be changed and called magma bomb

i started playing december 2020 and for some reason i have memories of his armor packs/ pre rework
