I agree 100%, I have a good back and this thing about broke me. I bought a seat (butt buster) and set the shock as low as possible. Its all I could do to stay on it for about two months. That's what I get for trying out a cruiser, never again.
Hey, I have good news for you (potentially). I just bought a 'cruiser'......a Harley Sportster Roadster! Amazing seating position that works for me cos there's a slight lean forward with the drag bars and mid controls. If you've got the money, highly recommend. Videos coming soon!!! :)

I have a 2006 M50 and have ridden it for a 100 miles at a time and have no problems. I will say the seat on mine is not stock. But overall it’s a dream to ride. Sounds like you’re a sport bike junkie so a cruiser is not a good fit for you. Ride safe
The riding position is about the same as on all cruisers with low seats, pull back bars, and forward mount controls. Comfortable to sit on in your driveway but less so the longer you ride. Add in the short travel suspension designed to make the seat as low as possible, and it's not comfortable on a long ride. Of course, if you'd never ridden anything but cruiser type bikes, you wouldn't know that. I see so many guys with cruisers going through a couple of expensive aftermarket seats and still having back problems and they never realize the problem isn't the seat, it's the riding position.
It could be your height, weight or frame type. I love the M50. The seat is like a couch, feet extended forward and arms in a relaxed position. It sounds great and has plenty of power.
Nice, yeah, I did make a mention that 'for me' it just didn't work. I have lower back problems and this bike bought that out nicely. Currently my Sportster Roadster doesn't give me the same issues, 'for me', the Roadster is much muhc more comfortable. I assume others would really hate the mid controls of my bike, but I love it. Glad you're enjoying yours!!! 🙂
@@VroomBroomZoom Thanks man. And I had lower back pain from riding sport bikes for years but this bike actually soothes my back. I can ride it for hours.
It's muscle memory, when you go from sport bikes to cruisers it happens. Just like when you go the other way you feel it in the wrists, shoulders and elbows. And that's from 30 years riding. Your body is used to a certain position and that's why the 650f suits you.
Totally agree about the riding position. I like to use my legs to support some weight and help absorb bumps. I'm coming from a CBR600F4, Arpilia falco (horribly long reach to low bars) and aprilia tuono with .75 inch risers. It's perfect. Enough weight on the grips to relax your throttle hand some and give it a rest and also can fight the wind. With the C50 I'm almost leaned back and hanging onto the bars so I can never relax my grip and when I hit a bump it can lift me off the seat and since I'm hanging on the bars there can be unnecessary throttle and steering inputs on the highway. I'm a short guy at 5 ft 6in tall though. That said I do like my C50 and enjoy cruising around below 60mpn and can do it for 2-3 hours at a time. I'm wondering if a HD sportster 1200 with mid mount controls would work well. If not then I think cruisers are out. I just don't feel in control of the bike due to the riding position, floppy suspension and weight. I'm sure it's me and not the bike. I've only put about 300-400 miles on it though as I just got it so maybe I'll get used to how it is in the turns or do some parking lot panic type exercises to get more comfortable with it. I like the idea, look and sound of a cruiser but not sure if one is for me either.
If you’ve seen my other videos, you’ll see I loved my Roadster with mid controls. I liked the slight forward lean to the low bars, the kid controls were a bit hip flexing, but I found it very comfortable overall. It just wasn’t sport enough for me so I went back into something a little more sporty, video coming soon.

Handles great, comfortable, no mods done but I might consider changing the bars to apes at some point as at 5'9", I do find myself leaning forward. If you can test ride one, do it
Yours has no windshield. You're a big flat plate into the wind without one. I rode my M50 from Texas to Pennsylvania in 2 days. Comfortable enough. 55k miles without laying a wrench on it! What this bike lacks is a 6th gear. It revvs unnecessarily high at 80mph.
