    I love my M90.... Ido like a loud bike so I have a few ideas to make it that way. My M90 definitely turns heads and my first few times on it I realized I had better hang on. The get up and go on this bike is very impressive. I can't wait to do some long trips and get some time in the seat. See You On The Road My Friends.....

    I actually get this review much better than when I first watched it. It really has more to do with your take on cruisers in general. You certainly said enough positives about this bike. As far as one trick pony; this bike does 2 things really well in my opinion( yes I have ridden an M90), it cruises really well and is comfortable, lots of power. The second thing it’s competent at ; it’s a great highway bike and can be set up that way. It handles extremely well for a big heavy cruiser. No ,it’s not a GSX S 1000 which will probably be my next bike. This M 90 always re enters my sights though. Reason being; it’s gorgeous, priced right, comfortable and I can take it town to town or easily and comfortably jump on any highway.

    67 5'7 and I love my M90, especially with the M109 rear which bolts straight on. Gone darkside with a 245-40-18 works awesome. I got sick of paying $400 for a Metzler, picked up my old stock new for $40👍🏻

    I like this bike cause it looks sporty. I find that older guys like me on sport bikes look kinda funny. This kinda bike is a nice compromise.

    I've had a couple o' Cruisers: a VTX 1300 (2005) and a Gold Wing (2010). The first was uncomfortable on an extended ride and the Better Half saw and loved the Gold Wing. Its hard to say no when they're in favour of riding. So we did the Gold Wing thing. It's best qualities are the seat for the pillion ... its not a seat, its a throne. But the bike is too friggin' heavy at 950 lbs or so. Its also prone to falling over when trying to maneuver it on slanted ground. Twice for me in 3 years. I was then screwed over hugely by a dealership on maintenance, so long story short: I traded it off on a Suzuki V Strom.
    The Suzuki V Strom 1000 (2016) is on hell of a lot of fun to ride, excellent power and excellent brakes. But the pillion seating is no where near a good as the GW. So, we're looking for a replacement seat and other stuff as time goes on. But I agree with you on giving the Cruisers a rest, and I'm in my 60's. I'm just taken with the flat out fun factor of the V Strom and your feet are where they should be, being between down from your knees and down from your butt. Plus you can stand if you see bad terrain coming up. This can't be done on a cruiser ... your spine takes a shit-kicking and you need more pain meds.
    I enjoyed the vid and the commentary. Keep up the good work, eh!

    You should check out the Kawasaki vulcan s, its only a 650 but has a ninja motor on a semi-cruser look, and can take most harleys of the line and is comfortable at highway speed as well as for most riders. Alot of avid bikers that have test drove claim they wish they hadn't dismissed them and they really were all around great bikes. I still want the 109 though except better exhaust and abs installed.

    Africa twin! I saw one in person with an aftermarket exhaust recently at our ohv area. It was really nice and sounded awesome. I'm right there with ya, I have an old virago I got super cheap. Works great, but the zx10 gets more ride time.

    Also worthy cross-shopping would be the Yamaha Stryker with 73 less pounds than M90. Same similar liquid cooled SOHC 8 valve design, at 1,304cc.

    Cruisers were never my thing. Always liked sport bikes. But I’m too old and broken from the military to get into a standard sport bike position anymore. So I ride a Ninja 1000SX. Great bike. Seat still sucks, though. I recently started flipping Japanese cruisers and 99% of them don’t do it for me. But the one I just sold was a 2005 Yamaha VStar 1100 and that thing fit me like a glove. I hated to get rid of it, but business is business.

    You're just a youngster. Wait till you get over 60 years of age and tell me how well you love riding a sportbike over a cruiser. Arthritis sets in your lower back your hands and feet. I can tell you from experience as I rode sports bikes for many years, starting from the late 1970's through the early 2000's. My body cannot take a sports bike anymore. I love riding but the only way to go is a cruiser. Bar none.

      They are great bikes. I sat on one at a dealer and it seemed a bit tall and top heavy. 15 years ago I would have bought one. I love my Kawasaki Vulcan Vaquerro. Very comfortable, nice sound system, hard bags for traveling. Used to love my Ninja 1000 but found it to be uncomfortable in a short time. I love all bikes. Sport, Super Sports, dirt bikes and cruisers, but now I can only ride my cruisers.

    • @RideByNight
      @RideByNight 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Understood. I'm in a transition from sport bikes to something friendlier. I've sat on the new Z900 and the FZ09. Both are upgraded ergonomics over the super sports. I also like the seating position of the Hypermotard and Multistrada.

    The dual sports are heavy. People drop them in the woods then they're assed out. People love this bike that you just trashed. It has lots of power in straight lines and is comfortable. I have gotten much better reviews about the M90.

    • @barryervin8536
      @barryervin8536 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dual sports are heavy? They are heavy compared to real dirt bikes, and too heavy for me to want to take off road, but they are far lighter than cruisers. This bike weighs 700 lb., even the biggest and heaviest "adventure bikes" weigh at least 100 lb. less, and have far better suspensions.

    I have watched a couple of videos on suzuki cruisers. There is always seems to be some sports bike guy, out for a test ride, and giving his opinion of cruisers. The whole thing is very simple logic. There are sports bike people, dirt bike people, and cruiser people. If you are a person that has an intrest in the cruiser lifestyle, you would have brought one, instead of a sport bike. Sports bikes are for people who want to be the fastest on the road and race everybody they see. Cruisers are for going places , relaxing, and seeing the sights. Sports bikes are for people who are very competitive bike riders in my opinion. If you notice every person that has made a video that is from a sports bike background they always have to compete by comparing it to a cruiser.

    • @Voyage2NoWher3
      @Voyage2NoWher3  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      blackspades0000 you’re correct. It’s hard to remove personal bias. My very first street bike was a cruiser though. I had a Vulcan 900 for about a year before buying a dual sport. These videos are my opinions.

    • @c0dy1287
      @c0dy1287 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This comment is old but I thought it was worth pointing out in MY experience there's not a whole lot of difference in personality between riders. I don't find that sport riders are always racing, or that everyone on a cruiser is a level headed middle aged man. I find a lot of people getting bikes for the same reasons, which is they're just picking whatever is coolest looking TO THEM, or how they see themselves on it, because you have no idea how many sport bikes are out there that guys get because they think it's cool and never actually use the bike how it's meant to or take to the track, and on the other side I've seen plenty of young guys thrashing on a cruiser bike flying in between cars, scraping the shit out of their Harley trying to prove they can lean too. Me I don't care about all that I just want everything, and I'm not out to make any bike anything it's not, I just enjoy them for what they are. 😀🏍

    I have an old Yamaha xj600 and it hurts driving it long distances, I was looking at the m90 as a replacement so I can take it on some day trips. would this be a good choice or should I look else where. p.s I don't want something like the gold wing.

      +MessingAround it's a good bike for what it is. Pretty stable at highway speeds. Just look into accessories for it before purchase so you know if it will accommodate bags and stuff you need for your trip.

    • @hiyadroogs
      @hiyadroogs 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you get a M90, you will definitely need to get a full screen for riding any distance. On the M90, you adopt a slightly lean backwards stance with your feet 6 or 7 inches in front of the line of your knees. With no screen, the wind pressure adds considerably to the loading on your lower spinal discs, which you cannot relieve because your feet are planted too far forward to take any weight off your backside. So you will be stopping frequently just to get some postural relief. With a full screen, it's pretty good, because only your torso weight rests on your lower back, & there is no wind pressure to resist with your stomach muscles or having to pull on the bars to take the weight off your back. It's a very stable bike because of the extreme wheelbase, & provided you are sensible, feels really planted around bends. The best part, is that magnificent V twin engine, allied to the incredibly long gearing. This engine is as close to diesel engine characteristics as a petrol engine will ever get, with peak torque of 97ft/lbs at 2600 (48 bhp exactly) , & full power of 79 bhp between 4000 & 4800. 4th & 5th are both overdrive ratios, with 3rd good for 107 mph @ 4800. 3rd, 4th, & 5th, are 22.34, 26.5, & 29.5 mph per 1000 rpm respectively, so is effortlessly relaxed & relaxing at speed. It's a very different animal to the M109, which is power oriented, with large bore, short stroke, & revs out to 6200. The M90 is a long stroke, smaller bore under square design specifically for low rev torque surfing.

      @@hiyadroogs I solved the wind problem by mounting a big ass Harley headlight on the handlebars which cuts down wind and air pressure on the chest to a minimum 👋🏻😉👍🏻

    • @hiyadroogs
      @hiyadroogs 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Anonymous-c4p Hi Pete. I absolutely loved my M90, but sadly had to let her go 3 years ago.
      Getting into top gear required virtually 70 mph if not to pull the rpm down to the point where you could feel the individual bangs from each cylinder.
      Which on UK roads, with traffic, potholes & speed cameras isn't easy to do consistently.
      So glad I had one though. A truly iconic all time classic with real character.
      Happy riding buddy 👍
