Just rode one of these 2019 M109Rs at a Suzuki demo event. Yes, its quick from the 110 ft/lbs of torque. The pillowy suspension, sweet fueling, and slick transmission showcased a refined, luxury, motorcycle.
The newer bikes had better transmissions. My 2019 shifts a lot smoother then the 2006 I had. The 2006 only had 7000 miles so it wasn’t very high mileage.
@@matthewniblock9876 i own a '17, its shifting was perfectly worded with agricultural... but it does the job and shifts well under load, just wants to buck you off in the 1-2 shift
The tail is a homage to the Busa rear end, lots of peeps don't like that either. Personally I love the look of the Busa & M109. I'd hate to live in a world, where all bikes look the same & everyone rode identical bikes. Oh yeah, war & famine are bad too.
I'm 36 years old, I bought a M190r a year ago. It's bring me back 10 years old too. When you ride in the street every one is looking. A big guy in a big motorcycle. Greetings from Saudi Arabia guys
Best review of M109R ever. I had gutted cobra dragster pipes on at some stage. Have been pulled over by cops (not in US) all the time riding this thing for being noisy. One time they even blocked part of the city to catch me (I wasn't running). Was having fun from traffic light to traffic light, as you said. Pure adrenaline. Just watching this review made my heart race again. One more thing. To make it ride and look better, I recommend lowering it by 2 inches. Will have to replace the kickstand. And you have to get rid of stock turn lights for leds. I also never used a passenger seat. Its a one man bike. And you have to get rid of those passenger pegs. Not needed. Yes, this is a short distance bike. However, I did about 1,000 miles in 24 hours on it once. Alone. Never again. Too much attention. Too dangerous. And that posture is not for long distance riding. My back and neck were killing me. Still best bike ever. Thanks for bringing back good memories.
I ride a 2008 M109R and I love it! I think it handles the corners pretty well myself. It has aftermarket air intakes, pipes and a tuner and it moves quite well, love it because it makes me smile!
@GOONZOOF they have been known for the shift dogs/forks to wear, mostly because of abuse and missed shifts. There has even been Class Action Suit filed I believe against Suzuki. They have so much power that I rarely run mine way up in 1st gear before my shift into 2nd, if I do I just preload the shifter before I even pull in the clutch, it does help. Also you have to really shift it like you mean bussiness, if you do it like that it will last you forever with no damage! There's also a shift improver kit that changes out the Star Wheel in there that is supposed to help, done by the 1st Owner.
I'm 6'4 235 and actually own 2 liter (not for the comfort lol) but had the chance to drive a newer m109r from Mpls/St Paul to Duluth Mn and back on a late night run and it was extremely comfortable held higher MPH decent and was surprised by the breaking and torque . Very underrated bike IMO
I have an 07 M109. I’ve had it for about 6 years now and it’s still fast!! I would add to the con list, weak clutch basket. I lost my clutch a couple years ago, pulled the clutch plates out and discovered the flaw In the bike. The basket nut had stripped out due to the insane torque. I’m told it was fixed for 2016 and newer but the fix was not made for older 109s. Also, the clunky shifting was smoothed out with a 6plate mod, as the 5plate original was never designed for this much torque. Finally, I’ve completely personalized mine with hard bags and a train horn to get distracted 4 wheelers attention before they try to kill me. I’ve taken this bike on thousand mile trips, and even a 2000 miler once, but it does beat the heck out of me.... but the pure joy which comes with 2wheels, 137 hp and 147lbf torque far outweighs a little discomfort.(yes... I had it dynoed after adding cold air cones and a chip) I’ll never get rid of my muscle... but I will be getting a Harley for the longer rides. Thanks for showcasing the 109. Not many people know about how amazing this machine really is.😊
Me too. 07. Blue with a white stripe. Bought it new and will never sell it. Didn’t know you could do a clutch mod. Is it worth chipping mines all original
@@trevormillard1339 , it’s not necessary… but you’ve had that thing long enough that you might enjoy the extra power and torque. I’m up to 147 on torque, and it’s definitely thrilling to ride.
@@ehsan83 no, bud.. I don’t. I have a voice made for radio, and never really got into making videos. Besides, the way I ride… the videos would actually be evidence that could be held against me in the court of law.
Two fun facts : the M109R had the largest piston of any production bike or car in the world when released and in Australia it came with a 300 section tyre.
I bought my 9 new in 2008, That big v twin has monster torque but it also likes to rev... she is just getting into stride at 5k, hold those gears a little longer and you will be even more impressed with what it can do. Great video, can't help but smile while watcing.
I had a very hard time deciding between the Honda VTX1800, and the M109. I landed on the VTX, both have almost the same power(107HP/122ft-lb torque), which felt more cruiser like on the M109, while the VTX felt a little lazier down low in the range, they both have power everywhere, and dutifully put that power to the ground when you want it, or perform a smoke show, whatever. The brakes and transmission on the VTX feel a bit more suitable for this style riding than on the 109, in the end, I was able to save about $1500 by buying the VTX, and so far have zero regrets. In a race, both stock, the M109 feels like would pull ahead, but not enough to matter, both bikes are capable. This is Suzuki's answer to the VTX, which came out in 1999 followed by more models in the next few years, so you'd expect it to be very close, but I didn't get that feel that it was pulling as strong as the VTX, I could be wrong, it's hard to really compare bikes as an average consumer, I think maybe it comes down to the small stuff, for me the VTX, especially the F1 looks better, handles better, pulls harder...but still loses something to the M109, a pseudo sporty feel, I think, but it's a cruiser/muscle bike, so who cares. I probably would have bought an M109 if I didn't fall into the deal I did, just being honest, and I like how the M109 sounds a LOT more, let's admit it, that's a big part to this kind of bike, so that's what the aftermarket is for =). I also owned an S40, which I did not like the metal used to make that bike at all, it would probably rust up if you spit on it :\ that may have weighed in as well.
I had a look at the Honda too. The Yammie, Honda and the Bully all look great, IMO, but I ended up buying the Bully. Awesome for long days in the saddle and the linear power delivery never gets boring. Effortless overtaking, solid as a rock on the highway, fairly economical considering the performance and soooo comfy. I'm a short guy and the ergonomics are perfect for me. Sounds like the VTX is a nice ride too.
I've had a 2006 M109R for 16 years and 39,000 miles. I love it. It isn't insane at all when compared to my other bike, a 2008 Suzuki B-King. That's INSANE. Yoshimura exhaust, K & n filter in a ram air modified box, Dyno Jet Power Commander V. Total insanity. I love it! I'll be 61 soon. My M109R has a ton of mods, including aftermarket rims. 10 inch with 280 in the back, 4 inch with 140 up front. As compared to the stock 8.5 inch with 240 rear, 3.5 with 130 up front.
I've been tryin to ride my dad's M109r for years and would always say I'm not experienced enough, last week he finally let me take it out...... I felt like a kid in a candy store lol the power is insane
Sean, I had a "Ganglion" on my right wrist. I had it removed (while I was in the Army) surgically and it grew right back. Then, I was swimming and smashed my wrist on the concrete side of the pool. The cyst (Ganglions are cysts) was "exploded" and went away and never came back. My mom said, "We use to put our wrist between two books and hit the top book real hard. That would break the cyst up and the Ganglion would never come back." Old world medicine works sometimes better than modern medicine. Look into a Ganglion and you will find that you may not need surgery. My wife had one on her wrist and put a clay drying compound on it and in 2 weeks the Ganglion went away (smart woman, no surgery, no crushing). BTW, since I was in a Top Secret job, in the Army, I could not be put under during the surgery. The doctor put a tourniquet on my arm and drained the blood. I got to see him cut my wrist and take the snotty cyst out. A tourniquet on your arm feels like when you hit your funny bone in your elbow until it finally goes numb.
Lowered mine 1.5 inch. It looks so bad ass squating on that big, wide back tire. Gears are a little clunky, but damn this thing has torque for days. It is not a begginers bike. Such a beautiful bike, and so much fun.
I’ve been a 365 rider for three years on the C50. Absolutely love it. Just last week started looking at the m90 and the m109r at dealerships and now videos. This was the best so far. Thanks. Knowledge is power!
I drive fast... mostly, love freeway driving..2008 Suzuki C90T Boulevard 1500cc Big heavy and fast.. really holds the road. I would like a 6cyl gold wing next.
I had a 2018 M109R BOSS. black and orange edition. ABSOUTLY LOVED IT!! It had freedom short curve exhaust, K&N air filter, and a fuel management system. it was a beast!!! Sadly i was only ever to ride her for about 3 months before a chevy 1500 decided he wanted to pull out in front of me and i had no where to go...so i lost that bike.... I will be getting another one though asap after my injuries finish healing and i am cleared to work/ride again. miss this bike. great bike!!!!
I had a new 2013 M109R limited. I loved the bike and got rid of it in favor of a 2018 Vmax. The ONLY thing I had a problem with was a weird vibration in the front end over about 80 mph. It always bothered me but the bike NEVER broke down and I never had any issues with it. My VMax will absolutely destroy the M109R - it isnt even close. However, I love my M109R and was very happy with it in all the years I owned it.
@glickmpb yeah the steering to me felt really heavy, it took work to steer it. The M109 personally for me was a very comfortable bike. A shame really cause the vmax was a monsyer
@@timothyberlinski2299 I have found that, when the tires are under inflated, it makes the steering really bad. Maybe that was your problem? All I know is that I LOVE my VMax!! I would NEVER trade it!!
I've owned my M109R for over 10 yrs now and it still rides like a beast. Even put custom cobra pipes and custom paint (American Flag). I love the power it provides and you can go 0-60 much faster than that, trust me... ; )
Not anymore. I did back when I lived in Colorado but it's been over 8 years since then and I live on the Eastcoast now. Just bought a M109R 2009, it's white with blue stripe in the middle, it has been lowered and is surprisingly very easy to handle... bad ass look, lot's of fun to ride.. simply LOVE IT ! :)
The M109 was Suzuki’s answer to Honda’s VTX 1800, which at the time was the bad boy V-twin. The M109 was a tad quicker in the quarter. It was quite a while before Harley had anything close to the two bikes. And when they did, it wasn’t the traditional HD motor (V-Rod).
@@adriansolis7760 what? I’m a young mid 20’s fella so I wasn’t on bikes back in that era but the m109r came out in 2006, the VTX1800c as a 2001 right? The vrod came out as a 2002 model too. So I don’t consider that “quite a while” for Harley to come out with something that compares and two, you said “anything close to the two bikes” but the 109 wasn’t until 2006 so that was years after the Harley and VTX, so another bit of misinformation no?
What you said @3:40 is so true: you get it just from riding a motorcycle to a small degree, but there's a certain appeal to bikes that especially make being alive after your ride feel like a huge accomplishment👍 Damn that was fast... and you didn't even launch it. But I still don't understand how the M109R was able stick around for so long but Yamaha's Warrior didn't. Same concept: big vtwin, cruiser frame, fat rear tire, sport bike suspension, braking from the R1, plus it looked better, and being air cooled it even sounded better than the Suzuki! It's too bad they stopped making them. I was still young enough to ride sport bikes when the Warrior first came out, and was (still am) a huge Yamaha fan. My first Yamaha was an FZR 600, and it kept me going back for R6's and R1's. Every time, the Warrior would call out to me and I had fully intended to buy one once I reached my cruiser stage... until one day, I stopped seeing it. So, I ended up at the HD dealership instead once my back and arms said "no more sportbikes."
I absolutely love my 109, and especially I love running long trips. She handles amazingly and sounds awesome. Mine is ridiculously loud and I never have a problem with other cars on the road. Or even in traffic
I loved the long trips as well. 2200 miles was my record…. But I wouldn’t recommend that length to anyone older than 30… it beat the hell out of me.😁 still one of my favorite memories tho
I had the m1800r. With the gsx CDI. To up the Rev limiter. Worst gearbox in the world My DYNA is better in every way possible. But I loved it. Rode it all round Europe.
Had the 2012 blue and white - i called it the bull- amazing riding feeling super sounds even with stock pipes and by far a head turner - if you are into mountain touring this is not your bike it will just drain u- had to let go couple of years back as I was moving countries but left it in safe hands- I ride a v Strom 1000 xt now still miss my bull
As a previous M109R Rider it is great in corners lean and scrape pegs easy. My wife used to hit me in the back of the head when I did that, I loved it. Not in my opinion a great bike for an experienced rider.
Had a 2007 it was the baddest bike I've ever owned. 1786+ CC's of power. Added a 1 degree rake and lowered the front to improve handling and eliminate acceleration float. Almost lost it when I rode the Dragon in Tennessee because it was so powerful and quick on the throttle. The Ninja's, Rats, Camaros, Vettes hated me in the day. Undefeated in two years of ownership. A certifiable BEAST. Too much bike for this old man sometimes
Best muscle bike I've ever ridden was my dads 06 vrod CVO. Not a big fan of the styling but what an incredible bike to ride. From other harleys, to vmax, triumph rocket, m109r it was my absolute favorite. Extremely easy to ride as well, did corners much better than one would think. I guess it was the only year you could get the CVO engine in the smaller frame of the vrod. If I ever find one I'll buy it.
M109r handles great. Play with sport bikes all the time in the twisties. Of course I learned to ride on 6" extended swingarm turbo hayabusa for my first bike.
I really loved my c50. Fantastic starter bike. Very easy to ride, very comfortable. The only thing it didn't do well was highway riding. Above 70-75 it just felt like you were pushing it a little too hard, and that's where I like to cruise. I sold it for a first gen FZ1 so I could satisfy my inner rossi, but I'm really considering selling that for a c109. Maybe wait a year, do that, then get an R1 to compliment it...
I've been a sub for awhile now, I ride a 107 streetbob (HD softail). I've been riding for years but I've never owned a sport bike. I really like how you are doing the "recommended skill level" for each bike now
As long term owner of 09 LE, before you buy one ask your self can you live with it. 1-Its not easy to ride in the twisties. 2- its heavy. 3- expensive on tyres. 4- not the quickest cruiser out there if thats important lol. But its hell lots of fun if you know what you doing, sound great rides smooth all day long and looks like nothing out there.
My first bike was the C-50 Boulevard, that's the one I learned on, that's the one I own today and have crossed into Mexico (legally, with a passport) and stayed at a beach house. It's 15 years old and other than flat tires and a dead battery, it has never failed.
My first bike was a 2005 C50. Year-round daily driver for 17 years. 53,000 hard miles, mostly in-town, aggressive stop-and-go. Spun a rod bearing in a cross country trip recently - didn't like being pinned at wide-open throttle state after state (at least at her age). Spun a bearing, but still got me to me friend's place in AZ. Tires, batteries, brake shoes/pads, fork seals, fluids, plugs (once), and air filter (once) - I never even adjusted the valves. Never left me stranded, even with a spun bearing.
Straight truth...first time I grabbed a curve so tight that my pegs sparked, I had to get a new seat since I lost the first one up my ass from clinching so hard!
looking to buy a 2019 M109R... i been riding a gxsr 1000 for about 5 yrs and a cruiser 1100 for about 15 yrs... i been watching videos about this 109r and i hear its a heavy byke at 750+ ... i really like this byke and not considering the c90 nor the c50 ... yet i'm 5'8" and 165 in a wet suit.... my question is : am i gonna be able to handle this beauty on the road ? or am i throwing my money away ? don't wanna throw away money nor be disappointed that i made the wrong choice... what ya think ???

So I bought a 2011 M109R as my first bike 3 weeks ago Lmao. It's been fun as heck. I'm 6'4 and got a wide frame. When I sit on it I feel like I'm riding a motorcycle designed for me and only me.
I worked the demo rides for Suzuki a few years ago at Daytona bike week. I got on the M109 every time it wasn't being riden. pretty awesome bike . Way cheaper than a HD and more dependable.
I owned the m109r for many years, craziest fast bike i ever had. (i also installed the engine retard delete module), these bikes are retarted in 1st 2nd and 3rd gear to keep the front to the ground. I also took it to the drag strip very often. (I also had a quick shifter on it hooked up to the dynojet. 9.5 seconds the 1/4 mile. Best to get 2,200 revs on boards before launching (lean forward) and your good. Anything higher than 2,200 rpm and the front will come up (I have photos to prove this at the drag strip). But an excellent all rounder bike. (I also had a 300 mm rear tyre kit). oh by the way, I lost my license for 6 months on this bike, and coped a $1,680 Australian Dollars fine. Damn. (60 km p/h over the speed limit, which is nothing for this bike). You need a lot of self control.
Have a new 2024 m109r! The 2nd gear deal is fixed. Its all smooth on them now! Its an absolute horse! This bike is very comfortable riding. And if you want. You can smoke most sports bikes out there. Its fast its comfortable! I love it!
You never really said why you don't want one! I've always considered the M109R to be one of the only cruisers I could ever see myself being interested in (along with maybe the Diavel). Just a monster beast of a bike!
In 2009 I bought a new M90. It’s been a great bike , has never needed anything but rubber and brakes. The M50 was a great bike also, which I had before the M90. Thanks for the Video 👍
First of thank you for the scripture! Sadly missed in so many places in this world. Secondly the bike preview was great. Recently i had the chance to purchase a 109r and love its looks. In my 70's now so that is a barrier to my purchase i'm afraid. Rode harleys and kawasakis when i was young. Loved them both.
You expressed concern over the handling and turning of the 109. So did I, until I put Avon tires on the bike. Better rubber compound, better tire profile, and way more confidence in the twisties. I promise.
The Japanese have some great styling, back end of the m109r is cool looking, different,i really like it, everything about the bike, can't say enough, i have 2012 love it
I picked up my m109 about a month ago. I actually like the tail it's different. I will say that first to second shift annoyed the hell out of me at first but I don't notice it much anymore. Cornering took some getting used to as well. I still prefer my 14 fatbob on longer rides, it's just more comfortable and after riding the m109 way easier to corner.
I bought a silver 109r back when they first came out in 2006. I got one of the first ones that were available. It was the best bike I ever owned. I loved it so much. I put almost 30k miles on it in about 2.5years. I feel so sad that I traded it in. Back in 2009 I stated thinking about doing cross country touring. Not really the 109s cup of tea. So I traded it in on a Kawasaki Councors 14. Also a great bike, but it just was not the same. I didn't have the Conny too long and now I am bikeless. But I think about that silver 109 all the time. One day I'll get another one. Best bike ever.
Id buy a hyabusa first..Never liked Metric. Cruisers..They may run great but they sound horrible..loved all 3 of my Vrod muscles..Now,after staying in trouble with the law on my Gsxr 1k,Im riding my Harley dyna fatbob and loving it so far..My 6th Harley in last 9 yrs..If you wanna go fast buy a liter bike,if you want a cool awesome sound, buy a Harley..lol..
The clunky shifter can be fixed by replacing the stock shift barrel, in the transmission, with a aftermarket one; or, if you've owned a 109 for as long as I have, you get use to it. I don't notice it.
I kinda felt at home with the 1st to 2nd clunk. It felt positive like the older bikes I rode. It Also felt like I was grabbing a gear not the neutral slap
I had a new 2013 M109R. Decent bike but I didnt like mine for 2 main reasons. First, my bike had a weird front end vibration at around 85mph and up. The bike just seemed like it didn't want to go past that. Second, the bike didn't really have that much power. I got rid of mine after 5 years without one issue with the bike. I bought a 2018 VMax and its a night and day difference. The VMax isn't perfect, but it blows the doors off the M109R.
This comment made me laugh, Theres a helmet I thought looked pretty cool but there was subtle skulls in the design and it total turned me off like no thanks don’t need any death vibes coming along for the ride
Been rided for 30yrs riden many different bikes but this has to be the most awesome cruiser. After 5yrs of riding, it destroyed my body. Did 100miles every day threw it around like a sports bike and was awesome. But the suspension is crap, and got sick of rebuilding the clutch so much I could do it blind folded. M109r 08 model rip. Have they changed it?
get a yamaha raider... similar power ... far better looks.... and all the fairing /fenders are metal instead of plastic.... yes you read that right the 109R has some plastic fenders i know the rear is 100% for sure not sure about the others...
I've had a 2006 for 18 years. Fitted with a ten inch Coastal Moto rear rim and 280 mm Metzeler tire. Two into one exhaust. LA Choppers Big Air intake. Under seat tuner. Many others. Still ove the bike. Also have a 2008 Suzuki GSX1300 B-King and a 2021 Honda CBR 600RR.
It’s a easy transformation. I went from my first bike, a Honda 750, to a M109R with no issues. However, the first time I rode it slow through a parking lot I cracked the throttle like I would on the 750 but this time I almost fell off the back of the bike. Simple fix…hold on to the handlebars. Fun bike.
You probably already read something to this affect, However your awesome I hope you get a 10,000 subs soon. When I first saw one of your videos I thought you where a high class know it all, (before I knew you were a dealer); I apologize Then You did a video on OC choppers, and this one on the M109. May God bless you, thank you for your willingness to serve Him.
I daily one. I'm 21 and its my 2nd bike. I went from an iron 883 to this monster. I love it. I've gpsd to 132, personally havent gone faster but it will go a bit faster. It handles like a dream and sounds amazing too. I did a 8hr, 502 mile trip this past weekend. And it wasn't bad at all. But it does get thirsty. All in all and amazing bike and if you can ride one do it.
I loved this bike, I owned one in 2009....It was my FIRST bike EVER but I was a late starter at 35 years old...I DO NOT recommend this as a first bike and I made a lucky mistake my age probably kept me alive...really thought it handled great! Within a year I had a zzr1100 and a GSXr1100 to accompany it with real different flavors of ride styles but this was my go to bike for pure fun, for distance and for aggressive fun off the line the m109 flew when you dropped that clutch but within 12 months I went through 4 rear tires...that was the only negative in my mind...Love the channel keep up the good work!!!
@@derahnthornton9166 Hi Derahn, It was a GREAT first bike for me after a couple of thousand miles of realy learning to ride, but I consider that an 1800 v twin of this kind might not be a sensible first choice...This bike made me take my test, I brought it before having my license (UK) to make sure I took my test...I'd never ridden anything before...I really mean that young kids should work there way up to this sort of bike just like zzr1400, fire-blades and Hayabusa and the like... I have a 2006 M109R, it has done 175,000 kilometres, the only issue was the clutch let go at 50000. I also broke a clutch cable about the same time. I fitted a tow bar and towed a trailer right around australia. I agree with the clunk between 1st and 2nd, but who cares. I have ridden up to 1200 k in a day without any back or leg problems. It uses 5.5 litres per 100 k. It is a brilliant motor bike and I have no doubts it will do another 175000 if I dont prang it.
“I’ve got part of my wrist that’s poking out. I think I’m going to need surgery. I’m putting it off because I don’t wanna stop riding... LIKE A MAN!” 🤣
Yeah, that's probably a cyst but you'll be riding again within 2 weeks. Don't put it off, or the cyst can grow tentacles that can make it a much more difficult operation.
You don't really need the big, fat tire on the back to "handle the power". It's only 125 hp. The tire contact patch is going to be about the same as any other street bike. It's all about coefficient of friction, not tire width. This is an old myth. The fat tire is for looks. The Hyabusa doesn't have a fat tire, and it's putting out a LOT more power than the M109.
Admittedly the wide tire is there to match the wide girth of the entire bike. However the contact patch is proportionally wider as the tire size so there is definitely additional traction. I own a 17 with all the typical mods. I do notice some loss of traction when the tires are cold but once they're warmed up it stays stuck. It's pretty typical for these bikes to Dino 125 to 130 at the wheel after those typical mods. I agree the wide tire is not necessary to handle that kind of power.
Trevor Jameson actually, it has MORE torque than the Busa! (125 vs 114) Additionally, that torque is available on demand! Mine hasn’t wheelies, but it WILL burn rubber (mighty impressively I might add) A skinny tire would NOT be good, you would have to be VERY careful upon acceleration...
Bought one of these in 2007. Loved it with a set of the suzuki soft bags. Wish suzuki would update it. Suzuki has an issue with never updating models, I don't know if its they are just too low of a volume producer to pay for the R&D or just uninterested.
They did a version with a fuggly flat pug nose headlight , called M109r2 I think. Glad they discontinued it. Seen similar headlights even on a harley model- looked bloody awful too.

Just rode one of these 2019 M109Rs at a Suzuki demo event. Yes, its quick from the 110 ft/lbs of torque. The pillowy suspension, sweet fueling, and slick transmission showcased a refined, luxury, motorcycle.
Now ride the 2019 Harley Davidson FXDR
They must have done a lot with the gearbox, I'd describe my 07's shifting as agricultural. Not very befitting a Japanese bike.

I had it dynoed after adding cold air cones and a chip)
I’ll never get rid of my muscle... but I will be getting a Harley for the longer rides. Thanks for showcasing the 109. Not many people know about how amazing this machine really is.😊
which horn did you buy? link? I've had my 06' for 8months and love it.
Me too.

Two fun facts : the M109R had the largest piston of any production bike or car in the world when released and in Australia it came with a 300 section tyre.
In Australia came with a 240 rear tyre. Mine is an 07, bought 2nd hand, fitted with oversize 250 rear.
And yet my stock cruiser will eat the 109 up.
Oh, and I dont need your mythology. Superstitious silliness.

Nice Robert.

Yup
@@adriansolis7760 what? I’m a young mid 20’s fella so I wasn’t on bikes back in that era but the m109r came out in 2006, the VTX1800c as a 2001 right? The vrod came out as a 2002 model too. So I don’t consider that “quite a while” for Harley to come out with something that compares and two, you said “anything close to the two bikes” but the 109 wasn’t until 2006 so that was years after the Harley and VTX, so another bit of misinformation no?

What you said @3:40 is so true: you get it just from riding a motorcycle to a small degree, but there's a certain appeal to bikes that especially make being alive after your ride feel like a huge accomplishment👍
Damn that was fast... and you didn't even launch it.

Damn.
My first bike is a 109 riding it every day 150km every day and I love it
250 is not stock
240 stock
Arthur Bober I have a 260 on mine. It has a more rounded profile seems to corner better
@@trevormillard1339 what brand tire?
My first bike also, learnt to ride on it
The clunky shifter can be fixed by replacing the stock shift barrel, in the transmission, with a aftermarket one; or, if you've owned a 109 for as long as I have, you get use to it.
I have skulls on my grips too.
I bought it that way.
I’m replacing them asap bc
I don’t want anything depicting death on my bike. Bad vibes!
This comment made me laugh, Theres a helmet I thought looked pretty cool but there was subtle skulls in the design and it total turned me off like no thanks don’t need any death vibes coming along for the ride
NathanDaniel Right on!!
☠️💀☠️🚫🚫🚫
YTjndallas skulls are supposed to ward off “death “
Steve Stark Really, oh well, I still don’t like them.
i find such superstitions so laughable xD
Been rided for 30yrs riden many different bikes but this has to be the most awesome cruiser.
After 5yrs of riding, it destroyed my body.
Did 100miles every day threw it around like a sports bike and was awesome.
But the suspension is crap, and got sick of rebuilding the clutch so much I could do it blind folded.
M109r 08 model rip.
Have they changed it?
chris moore and cycle specialties just reflashed and dyno tuned a m109r and now it will do 150 mph suzuki limited it to 120mph
I have the 2007 M109R... I love this this. Sooo comfy, handles awesome, power for days...
I need this bike in my life.
get a yamaha raider... similar power ... far better looks.... and all the fairing /fenders are metal instead of plastic.... yes you read that right the 109R has some plastic fenders i know the rear is 100% for sure not sure about the others...
@@wormer66 vtx1800 is better looking too. I could care less about plastic fenders, but looks are important on a cruiser
Man Sean, you’re a real pro presenter now bro. 🤙🏻. Love your vids.
M109R is a true monster. I have wanted one for years. I just am not sure I should buy one. To quote Jim Morrison “there’s a killer on the road”.
Fun bike.
@@novaguy509 Most I've ridden is a 650. So jumping up to almost 3x the power is intimidating lol. Not sure what the power behind it feels like.
"Making your mother-in-law mad", SOLD! 🤣
What made it so bad as a first bike? I was interested in getting one! Most guys I knew were telling me to get this one or the M90
Caviat: If you have a bike license you can ride it no problem as long as you can handle the weight and feel comfortable in the riding position.
@@darknightstudio2543 yes I'm 6'3" 290 and didn't wanna look like a bear on a tricycle. I've had my M endorsement for a few years but never pulled the trigger!
@@derahnthornton9166 yep im 6'1 and 130kgs so a pretty good fit...loved it to bits...I haven't ridden for a few years now but if one crossed my path at the right price id be tempted however, I do like the look of the MT01 but there holding there prices.
I have a C50 and a C90 they are great love em
LIKE A MAN!” 🤣
I love how i started scrolling the comments and saw this at the exact moment that he said it lmao...
ive got some super glue for his iritating mouth
Yeah, that's probably a cyst but you'll be riding again within 2 weeks. Don't put it off, or the cyst can grow tentacles that can make it a much more difficult operation.
Cool
john wild if you don’t like listening to him then simply do not watch
First time I saw an ad for this bike it called to my soul, lol. Finally got one, 2011 le, and it has completed my life, lol. Love this bike.
I have a 2006. Her name is Betty. She's beautiful beast!
Al Rago my bike's name is Black Betty ....1100 Honda Shadow.
This is my dream bike the M109R ... I’m hoping one day to buy one. Kinda hard to do on disability but I’m praying one day I can have one
All the more reason to go darkside.
Mine hasn’t wheelies, but it WILL burn rubber (mighty impressively I might add)
A skinny tire would NOT be good, you would have to be VERY careful upon acceleration...
@@stevestark1456 I didn't know it put out that much torque! ouch.
Love my 109. And yes, my neighbors don't like my swept Cobra pipes.
do you have to tune it after new exhaust ??
I had the C90 Boss 1500cc and loved it!
