For the tape mod please don't use ductape as it can harm the pcb, when doing the mod you should use masking tape/ painters tape. Besides that good job on the board!
this switch puller is well known for breaking the cheaper switches like the outemu ones. it happened to me as well i have both the same keyboard and switch puller
Iirc it's not the switch puller it's how you are pulling it because Outemu sockets are really tight, and if you pull slow, instead of fast, you are basically just ripping the socket out
How did you get around the RD extra bit they solder onto the PCB joints? I had to pop those out one by one to get my holy pandas on there. They’d be the outemu housings that wouldn’t support other switches. Wondering what I missed haha
try pulling straight up with a bit more force when removing the switches. If you try to slowly jiggle them out like that you're bound to break some housing.
Oy, do you sell one of these mods your doing or are you doing giveaways? I always wanted a modded keyboard, but I'm a bit to noob to do it myself, nor do I know about anyone around here that does it where I live
hey sorry if this is a dumb question I'm new to the scene of modding keyboards and have this keyboard and like it just wanna make it better and more personalized for me my question is in the video you talk about clipping the stabilizers what exactly are you clipping off them?
@@v_crowbar creamy blues are a tactile 38g (don’t quote me on the 38g I think that’s what it was😂) and there decently loud for sure but they got a nice sound to them for sure
Hey man, just starting to build by first custom keyboard. Is it okay to lube the metal stabilizer rods with krytox or to you need to use the grease you mentioned?
The other mods really help a lot especially the holee mod(for stabilizers) if you dont add a foam youll not get the thock you get in a good keyboard either and you need to lube your akko switches (factory lubbed is not the best)
Hi I know I put this comment in late but I just wanted to know if you can make one for me??? I am a very new person to keyboards and for my setup I and getting a hyperx alloy origins core tkl and I want a keyboard for school and I love the redragon k552 but I really love the Akko cream blues so can you do a mod on that or at least a live tutorial on how to step by step please and thank you for your convenience😅

I thought this guy had like 100k subs+ but then when I see their sub count it's only 300 subs! This guy is underrated lmao

What about electrical tape?
@@AspexFPS I've seen people use it but they put some painters tape on first then the electrical tape over it
@@LeBorkBork hm alr i might just do that then
Painters tape has no stick so go with masking tape

It sounds like I wanna come on every keypress. Dang it! Beauty!
Good job with this keyboard. I love these keycaps, ordered them and now just checking how they look in real life. Thanks for the video

Does the Akko pro switches specifically the v3 cream pro switches work on the k552
That sound is so satisfying. Do you commission keyboard mods?

I originally the blue switch version of this, but I ended up getting some Akko CS Rose reds, and I’m hoping to put a rubber sheet in mine.
Are the AKKOs made by Oetemu? I was under the impression that only Oetemu's will fit.
@@Xyriumthey’re not made by the same company, but they use the same socket.
Wow! This will help a lot with my keyboard!! Awesome video man.
I've actually been thinking of getting this board and mod it a few months later. So this vid will definitely come handy.
go for it its so good for modding and budget friendly
Nice little step by step tutorial

Good Job Bro. Keep Up!

I’d never do this but great vid bro a lot of work you deserve more subs
try to mod the gamezone evo1, it has a full hotswap socket, sound very good out of the box, the keycaps are great imo and its only 40 bucks

I just bought these switches for the same board. But the switches are tight, did you have any fitment issues?
do the switches you added came pre lubed or u had to lube it separately?
you're so good!
I'll try this mod. Waiting for the parts to be delivered.
did it worked ? How does it sound like ?
are any plate mount stabs compatible with this
just wondering change keycap the rgb lights cannot pass thru the letters???
If they are not transparent, yes they can't pass through and you will get only the neon underneath.
Really nice video I really like it I’m wondering what kind of music is that that you play with it I really like it
Streambeats by Harris Heller
nice vid man
pull the switches hard at once and they wil come out easier
The tape is painters tape at home depot
woah sounds good
Ask aaaah!!! Does this keyboard fit the XDA type keycaps or only the OEM ones???
both will work fine i believe
It doesn't matter what keycap profile you use, chief

hey sorry if this is a dumb question I'm new to the scene of modding keyboards and have this keyboard and like it just wanna make it better and more personalized for me my question is in the video you talk about clipping the stabilizers what exactly are you clipping off them?
You are just clipping off a useless tiny piece of plastic off the stabilizer to make it sound just that much better.
@@v_crowbar ended up buying pre clipped got the build done about a month and a half ago and am loving it for sure I used cream blue switches tho
