hi. my personal recomandation: insert the timestamps on videos. really helps to go to my body tipe and not to search it on video timeline. thx for content❤
A very good Video. Also shows that you can still dress well with good proportions regardless of your body type. But of course slimmer clothes will always look more flattering on a fit body
A (short) video with how to determine out body type would be helpful. Not everyone is willing to accept their proportions so knowing how to measure to get objective results is good. What does shoulder width mean anyway since even A types often have narrower hips than shoulders, at widest point.
What even is this comment? That measurement video sounds too advanced for you, start with a video on how to feed yourself by putting a spoon in your mouth and a video on how to wipe your bum without assistance.
Thank you for those precious advices. I am a natural v type (1.80 73kg) athletic but not muscular looking for a suit for my wedding. Finding a suit is really a pain in the a** as the shape never fits properly. I will look considering you advices!
My takeaway for V body was get tailored suits only. I'm an I and even when I try on the smallest suits they have the top still hangs open. I could probably get a cheap suit fixed at the shoulders, but like he said for V the amount the waist needs to shrink is too much.
Shopping for a suit for my cousins wedding is a pain! I’ve always had a naturally thin waist and hips compared to my shoulders and every suit I try looks baggy on my waist. The tailor said that it’s going to be hard to tailor the waist down. Hope he doesn’t charge extra lol
I had the same issue. First step was having my stuff altered when buying it. So I'd have somebody help me pick a suit off the shelf and then alter it right away so it fits better. Made a huge difference. But ultimately, you'll want your good clothing to be tailored. Otherwise it will always be either way too wide around the waist or look like a sausage around the upper back and arms.
Your voice is so soothing like asmr-ish level 💛AND this video is SO helpful , I lived in the closet for the longest time💅 and yet I don't know how to dress😩😩 so thanks 😊😊
I am married to a man who doesn’t wear suits. I don’t know why I am watching this, but find it very interesting. I hope men appreciate your content and contribution to help them look their best. ☺️
This is a really helpful breakdown but just like the there’s an I type and H type for guys with similar proportions and different heights, a similar breakdown of the V type would be helpful as well
I’ve spent maybe a minute of my life caring about how I look… this was an interesting video as I’ve gone 100% for comfort! But I have a few weddings coming up! High pants is super smart! Makes me look 20% better for sure! Thanks for your help boss!
Pleasantly surprised at how accessible this video was. I'm not someone with much experience or knowledge on fashion and with this guy being so sharp and having the accent and everything I thought it was going to be too high-brow for me to understand 😂. But it was helpful, understandable and funny. Great video man!
Why do I feel like I’m a mix of the I and V types. For 1, my shoulders are very broad and wide, with a pushing out chest, but my waistline is so slim that I used to call it a “girls dream bod”. I also have a long neck and thin face, with toes as long as my thumb.
Gotta love being recommended a video like this, checking it out due to curiosity and being told to spend silly money on suits and alterations. I'll stick with my light and comfortable clothing for general wear and the "ye olde" clothing style when I'm wearing clothes I actually want to, thanks. P.S. we need to revive wearing cloaks and having belts with pouches and tools on them rather than just holding up your trousers.
With the V type Weight lifter/body builder - suit separates probably wont work either. Suit jackets are made to a 6 inch drop, most lifters will need 10,12,14 inch drops. Plus most off the rack (beside big and tall shops) stop at size 46 or 48 (USA). Also some lifters work the legs. Large Thighs and large calves can present an issue for slim or tailored pants. Trying finding over the calf dress socks for an 18 inch calf (hint Wellow). Made to Measure is the way for sure as mentioned in the video.
my problem is that when shirts fit me at the shoulders, they are too large at the waist... and when they are fine at the waist, they are too tight at the shoulders...
3:10 This "rule" doesn't apply to my opinion on satorial aesthetics. I use to wear frock-coats the hemline of which is about where my fingertips end when my arms and open hands are stretched downwards (maybe even a bit lower). This normally is the line where your upright standing body is divided by the golden ratio. By the way, if you turn the same ratio upside down, you will find the perfect hemline for your waistcoat.
Thank you. Being a skinny V has it’s challenges because the sizes that fit lenght vise are mostly to loose, so combining the info from the I type with V type 👌 Plus learning to refit it myself and doing mild muscle building (because too strenous workouts will age you much faster 😅) All in all great video with the tempo and keeping the information precise and to the point, much appreciated!
Being tall, macsular but low weight 75kgs, I've accepted my fate, if its long, its buggy, if its shorter, its smaller, I pass all my clothes through the Taylor
I’m between H and A. I strangely have a feminine curve which is so odd because I am Male! 😂 I’m also on the shorter side. My stomach is pretty flat but my shoulders and chest are naturally broadly. I took ballet on and off for years so I have a athletic lower body muscle which added to the curve. I’m a mess! 😂
asking/reminding for the channel things (subscribe, comment, etc) is fine, with any channel, the challenge is how to do so without compromising the cinematography of the episode and coming off intrusive
Interesting video. After looking at the types here and looking in the mirror, I'm still not quite sure what I am. I'm sort of half way between H and V. I would say I'm a "slim V". Not as stocky as the picture of the H type, but not ripped like the image of the V type, however I definitely have hips and a thinner waste. I reckon if I went to the gym for a few years I could potentially become a proper V type. My issue is I'm quite short. 5ft 7in. Often when I buy trousers, shirts and jumpers to fit my neck/waste/chest, the arms or legs are too long. The other issue is T-shirts that are not tucked in make my body look long and my legs too short. I look better when tops are tucked in, but it feels weird to tuck in a T-shirt, and it's hard to find short T-shirts. I guess I should find a tailor, but that sounds expensive.
I am in the same boat as you brother. 5' 7 and shirts are too long, my solution is to either tuck my shirts in or to wear a slightly baggy shirt so the oversize of the shirt compensates for the length. Sometimes, I will also wrap the shirt in my belt loops.
@mdhazeldine it defiently isn't for everyone, I can pull it off better because I have longer hair and a trimmed scruffy beard, so it looks like controlled ruggedness and I am in my 20s. However, I never wear more than a size up from the shirts that normally fit me.
I have the disadvantage of being a V shape, but by virtue of a broad, thick chest and wide shoulders rather than being "athletic". I vasselate between being in okay shape and being a little fatter than I'd like, so I end up somewhere between V and H
@TheStyleConsultant you are most welcome dear,,,I really appreciate your content,,,and you are most welcome in Cairo anytime. It will be my pleasure to take care of you 😊
Intro: don't worry about beauty standards, they're just social trends Ten minutes later: V types are blessed by God. A and O types, for the love of God DO NOT draw attention to your midsection, open the collar and wear flashy shoes and watches, anything, just distract people AT ALL COSTS. lol still a good video, I don't know what type I am except I know I'm not an I or V. It's hard to tell. I work out and I'm in good shape but still have a slight belly. I second the call for a video on how to figure out your body type, and I'd also like to see more examples of how to dress besides the jeans and V neck sweaters.
Shopping as V type is infuriating these days. Nothing of the rack except sweaters fits... ever, not even polos. Clothes are designed to be made as cheaply as possible so there is one boxy cut that poor Cambodian kid can stitch together in dimly lit sweatshop. Terrible.
It is true, I workout a lot of do strength training and I have trouble getting shirts that used to fit me well are too damn tight now or the neck wouldn't even fit an "I" type. Pants are difficult as well since I am a 33-32 but jump back and forth with 34-32 same with swim trucks its nuts. The Large is too damn small and the XL i'll be swimming in with too long of sleeves.
I think it more depends on the body. You could similar hip / shoulder ratio but be very thin with 165 - than you're an I type. But +15kg with the similar ratio of hips and shoulders is an H type then. Just more flesh while maintaining the ratio :-)
Fantastic video, but I feel like I don't quite fit into any of these. I'm not overweight, but my legs have always been much stronger and more muscular than my upper body, which can sometimes make it look like I am overweight depending on what I wear. I feel like I'm somewhere between the H and A body types. Any reccommendations?
Yessss :3 Im not a big fan of jeans (mainly because of sensory issues 0~o they can get painful on the skin after a while) I love wearing shorts and skirts! :3💕💕 for skirts, I specially love short pleated skirts as males tend to have narrower hips so a skinny skirt might look kind of off. It can definitely be styled to look pretty I’m just not sure how OwO And for winter you can always use thigh highs or one of those stocking that go up to the waist (not sure the name in English sorry :”3) There are even thermal variants if you feel very cold. I love how they look with some shorts on top, really cute >< Although maybe this is too feminine for the average male 0.o but I say it just in case 💝
the thing is my body type isnt really represented since i have bigger and stronger thighs and calves while still having an above average physic when it comes to the upper body
OK...please get rid of that light knocking noise when the picture changes going forward, the way it is added to the audio mix makes it sound like it is something knocking in your house if you are wearing headphones and not part of the video. Thought there was something banging around in the attic. A more distinct, non-natural sound would be better, or dropping the sound entirely for a more noticeable visual effect would be better I believe.
I am 18 years old, 6 feet tall, and weigh only 50 kg. My shoulders are too wide compared to my chest, and I don't have any muscle at all. So, what body type do I have, V or I?
I'm an H build and very muscular so getting any clothes to fit proportionally seems like an impossible task. Even straight fit trousers are super skinny for me. I have to get everything bespoke now.
I don't know what my body type is...can someone tell me which of these selections will gain me the most consideration, compassion and free stuff like extra seats on a plane, so I may feel included in something?
I’m almost an H type, except I don’t have much muscles on the top of my body and do have muscles on my legs (walking, cycling). Should I go for the H type (balanced), I type (skinny), or A type (bigger legs)?
Tough luck, Im a combination of the I and A body type. Skinny with a bit of a beer belly when seated. Sllightly above average asian height, narrow shoulders and wide hips.
I agree about not fitting perfectly into one type. I'm a slightly shorter I type with a little bit more ass and hips than expected for that type. Now I've also added some shoulders through strength training, so I'm a mix of many different ones I think.
What style of underwear is recommended for people with a Y type body? It seems my pants slip down all the time even though I keep my pants above the waist and under the belly button.
Where can I sort myself in? I got the typical hourglass figure(broad shoulders and hips(~95-100cm) + a considerably smaller waist(~70cm)). Why is this body type ignored when talking bout dudes?
My body type is so strange. I’m one of those “Hit the Genetic Jackpot” guys who’s naturally built with the V type. The downside is that I’m also skinny, so my big shoulders make good shirts difficult to find. I either get normal people clothes and there’s way too much excess fabric at the bottom and my shoulders look like they’re pitching a tent over the rest of my body, or I get the buff guy form fitting shirts and then there’s too much fabric on top because they’re made for men with way bigger arms and chest than me, leaving the top to look saggy or my arms to look even smaller in the oversized arm holes. I can’t win man.
As I sit in my shed, high plains night skies outside I am reminded how entirely unfashionable a man i am. I'm wearing a blue hoodie because the evening grew cold, green shorts because someone bought them for me, and sandals. You, sharp sir, and your expertise are far from my cup of tea, but I tip my American Light beer to you, sharp sir... Because this shit was interesting!

You should do shoulder presses.
What do I do if I'm an A type but developed broader shoulders by exercise, so now I have an hourglass figure? :/
Myth body type is the same as it was back in middle school😂 I’m in college now
He called Henry Cavill a UPS parcel holy shit 😂😂
I look pretty much like the 1960s guy 1:35 What body type is that supposed to be?
for more vídeo for V type
I'm taking notes :-)
Love from Australia
thanks man! Big Volkanovski fan here 😎
Tough luck, Im a combination of the I and A body type.
What if you’re a V but 5’11” and 170. I am fit but now bulky. I always remove the shoulder pads. They make me look cartoonish.
What style of underwear is recommended for people with a Y type body? It seems my pants slip down all the time even though I keep my pants above the waist and under the belly button.
Try suspenders they hold pants up pretty well
I’m in a electric wheelchair. How would all these rules apply to my situation?
Aaaare you super good at physics? 'cause no one ever called him on the shoulder pads.
Where can I sort myself in? I got the typical hourglass figure(broad shoulders and hips(~95-100cm) + a considerably smaller waist(~70cm)). Why is this body type ignored when talking bout dudes?
Lots of people asking about the "X" body. Maybe it's "x" as in verboten. If you don't look at, or talk about the x, then it isn't real.
Who dresses teenage super heroes? There has to be a tailor somewhere for that.
There's no T type ? Im like the I type, very tall and slim, but with quite large shoulders (bones, not muscle). I feel like there should be a T type.
Are you a hammerhead shark? Jeezuz dude, get on gear, hit the gym and look like a goddamn hero, instead of a shark.
Hi. I have problem i'm something bettven H and V type. Wath should I do.
Statistik says you have to push for likes and subs. Even when everybody hates it. 🤷🏻♂️
I liked him. That's why I'm talking shit in this comment section.

I have a v type body. Very broad shoulders and narrow hips. My pants always falls.
