These videos have been a godsend to me. A friend of mine expressed a while ago how he wants to update the way he presents himself, but I'm not very knowledgeable on men's fashion. I've been trying to sort him out a selection of clothing that will work with every other piece, so he doesn't have to think before he puts anything on, because every combination will work. That has been the most difficult element of this makeover, to me. I've got everything else down, from haircut, beard shaping, sorting out his posture, I have even bleached some natural looking highlights into his hair, but outfits are what is difficult. But I'm sure he will come out of this feeling way more confident, which is the goal for me.
I just really love and appreciate these types of videos. So informative and enjoyable without being too long and stale. I'm truly entertained even though it's just a tips and tricks type of video. I also wanna add that Tim's videos are very calming and smooth-going because of the jazzy music and how tidy and clean his aesthetic is. Thank you for putting effort into ur videos for our enjoyment, Tim and crew.
This video came just in time! With spring coming around I’ve noticed how much clothes I lost interest in that I would normally wear around this time in prior years. I was gonna wear a black thrifted Ralph Lauren polo I love that I’ve had for years but realized how short it is on me in length and decided that it doesn’t suite me anymore. It’s interesting too that at some point whenever I’ve gotten certain colors of clothing, I’ve seen how colors of clothing I currently own I may end up losing appeal to wear it over the other color that is in a different shade that I realize suites me better. Crazy how we go through these changes in our style
1.Know your body type: if you're short get longer pants with smaller top, and vice versa . 2.Choose the right colors for your skin tone : If asian don't wear mustard. Brown skin, don't wear brown but try it, why not. 3.Focus on quality essentials : lasts longer and you'll love it, if its cheaper its not always better. 4.Dress for the occasion : No suit for bbq. No shorts for a business meet 5.Elevate your accesories : something timeless for anytime, basic 6.If you don't know, wear black : just easy, always look nice, but you can add something different. Different texture of clothing too 7.Pay attention of small things : Iron the shirts, polish the shoes
@@zawash May I point out that here in Britain/the UK pants are called trousers, as pants means shorts or underpants here too. Other than that though, thank yo anyway of course so too!
What I enjoy is the having accessories like the wallet, gloves, hat, glasses that are close to or as you say “wash” the skin tone, this is playing it safe in a lot of ways as the accessories will always be matching your birthday suit 🥴 which can be helpful as a sort of foundation for your own persona that you’ll be tailoring for yourself
Love your fashion tips. But they mostly are useful in a colder climate. Wish u did a video for people living in more tropical or hotter climate areas...
Proportions of your outfit definitely matters as well. As a short person, it’s hard to find clothes that looks good on me, but I recently started paying attention to the proportions, and felt 1000% better putting on some outfits, Slightly cropped, shorter jacket with high waisted tapered pants combination is just perfect in terms of the proportions of your body.
Essentials is key!! Always keep a white/black tee, some gray shorts/sweatpants and accessories! I'm a digital nomad who travels with an 8kg backpack and having those key pieces is alpha omega. 8 pieces you can mix and match suddenly becomes a bunch of different outfits. Even the way you wear a shirt can make one outfit become 5!
Thanks Tim. I've been elevating my wardrobe this past few weeks and it's really helped me go out in confidence. It's also so much fun to try new things!
I was all ready to roll my eyes at another person giving the advice, "Yo, just be more confident, my dudes," but then he started giving some extremely valid and reasonable advice on how to do it by getting to the source. I approve.
overall good tips! but for the boyz out there without all these budgets. Just remember your attitude and self-confident are what will help you stand-out the most!
Thanks for all the tips in this and other videos Tim. Some feedback: imo it's necessary that you recognise the difference between paying for quality and paying £200 - £350 on one pair of trousers. Or £1000 on a coat. That is an unthinkable amount for near everyone. There's value in seeing the style but it's also challenging to find the style. When it comes to brands like Weekday, let's take those Ken tracksuit pants as an example, good style, good price- except the latest stock has, kind of predictably, dropped in quality. I guess only the smaller and newer fashion channels are in a position to notice but it's worth keeping in mind when catalogues are replaced quite frequently. Thanks again for the inspo on fashion + more!
The fact of the matter is that nothing will ever go out of style if you rock it. That's what brings styles back. someone saying F it imma do what I want. It's the confidence not the cloth.
Nice vid as always, Tim!! All black/mostly dark outfits never fails me as well. That is what I tend to do 80% of the time when I'm in a rush or can't think of what to wear 😂
Tim, we need a video on how to build a capsule collection and how to choose the right quality essentials. But emphasis on how to build the capsule collection and especially how you chose the items you own.
Hey Tim do you ever make videos of how to essential your closet with jeans and outfits that matches? I'm tan skin but I do love neutral colors. My closet is filled with black browns and light browns and dark greens. Watching your videos help me a lot, but do you have any videos that talks about how to set up your closet and a professional way with outfits that go well with browns, black and green jackets? It's the hardest for me
Thanks so much yeah I'm trying reorganize my closet. I'm trying to have everything match and everything look good together. I'm all over the place and sometimes when I go to work I end up wearing my pajama pants with my Ben& Jerry's and I swear that says dear god shoot me lmao
I really like how balanced everything is. Not even in the sense of things being aesthetic, as the trend goes, but more in the overall presentation of the what's being captured...not really sure if that makes sense. I also noticed that most of the tops you wore would be completely untenable for where I live, because it's so humid. What would you do in that kind of situation, where the weather dictates so much of what you buy/wear?
What works for me is having an easily adaptable daily uniform thats easily upgradeable and adaptable which in my case is white ocbd shirt , indigo / dark jeans , brown shoes and if it gets too wet or cold I wear an offwhite/tan/beige cardigan and olive/dark green great outer layer and it works amazing for almost all situations 😊.
I swear dressing well is like a miracle to me, like some secret ability a god gave you. I'm hearing all these tips and it's like they enter one ear and leave trough the other one lol. Did anyone here have awful clothing taste like me and eventually learnt how to dress better? I need some hope Also I'm a woman and I'm quite insecure of my big rib cage, I'm quite wide in the torso when you look at me from the front of from the back, which can make my hips look very small in comparison. Sometimes wearing waist high pants does the trick and accentuates my waist and hips, but sometimes it's the entire opposite and it makes my torso look even bigger! And in some outfits wearing a top that ends a little bit under my waist with low rise jeans makes me look great, small torso and big hips! WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN?!
hey tim , I just wanted to say thank you for the videos you make , they helped me become better looking even at my age being a 16 year old kid ... I just have a question , while the " when in doubt wear black " helped alot I couldnt help but wonder , what if we had different shades of black clothes? like black with a slight brown tint cargo pants , pale black jacket , and black with a slight blue tint t-shirt ? an advice from you would help alot
