    David, I like your police vehicles!!! Goes with your Chevy Van build. Those wide wheels started out in a old MPC "Force 440" police car kit. It was a Monaco 2 door body. It was not the best choice for a patrol car, maybe an unmarked car. But the wheels were wrong w NASCAR style tires👎. This kit fixed the wheels/tires problem👍👍👍!!! It is to bad that clear lenses weren't added to give the NYPD light bar. Great build! More Police vehicles!!

    I like how it turned out. I think those skinnier rims were part of that rerelease. I built the Joker Goon /Gotham City version from 89. It does have some fit issues and I do agree those deep dish rims just don’t look right. This would be fun to build as a detectives car with a red light on the dash.

    Can I ask, where did you get the NYPD decals please? The white stripe and shield?

    • @davidchin350
      @davidchin350  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Dave I got the decals from the AMT NYPD police van kit I previously built. It's one of my earlier videos on my channel. I had to paint a small section of the white stripe by hand since decal was not long enough.

    The emergency lights are more accurate for nypd if you use the lights from the amt 70 chevy fire chief impala kit. Also fireball modelworks makes really nice steel Mopar wheels with different dog dish hub caps

      Thanks for watching, I used Rustoleum 2x Satin Oasis Blue. It's a general usage spray can not specialized for scale models so there will be some orange peel and not very smooth but it fits my limited budget. Home Depot carries it. Have fun with your restoration.

    I like to do a police car from a Canadian city. Toronto used yellow cars, Montreal used blue cars and Vancouver, I would have to contact the police department historian. They can give me information on color and the door shields used.
    Do you know any sources on getting model police decals and licence plates? Let me know. Also what color can be used for Quebec blue and for the yellow for Toronto Police cars? Also the extra blue lens use can use as a police car in the Southern United states.

      Hey Frank, you can try this website, no guarantee they have what you want www.policecarmodels.com/decals.html
      I ended up pulling decals from another NYPD kit. I researched on the web for images and you can pull parts from another kit if you have to.
