He was not trying to say THE best, but rather in the top few artists.
I know a lot of singing youtube stars are hesitant to sign contracts (even if they're offered) because if they can be successful like this, they can keep full artistic liberty, and they don't owe producers/record labels any of their fame. Chestersee is a case in point. Sure they won't achieve ultimate stardom in the music industry, but that's not all that's important.

I just found your music while passing time in the waiting room while my husband got his second pet scan. I spent the entire 2+ hours listing to every song you have on you tube and praying. I kept coming back to this song "I won't Give Up" and "Mary Did You Know". Both songs helped me get through a very stressful time. I then went to I tunes and bought several of your songs there and continued to use them to help me relax. My husband has gone through one round of chemo so far with two more rounds coming. Praise God, The fantastic news is a lot of the cancer is gone now. We still have more fighting to do to beat this cancer but I won't give up! Thank you Peter Hollens for sharing your voice with this video program you have. I am a contributor and will continue to follow your journey.

Record companies have stopped caring about the music. If something makes money they will always give it priority even if it's horrible compared to the art of someone like Peter Hollens (which rocks). We were better off with the old record label owners who didn't know much about business and when they were presented with something they liked they just said "Take a chance! Let's get it out there and see if it sells!". Now it's all owned by 30 year old men who think they know what we like and what we will buy regardless if how horrible it is. We need people like Peter Hollens, Lindsey Sterling, and Pentatonix to keep the spirit of what real music is from dying out completely. Keep up the amazing work.
I couldn't agree more. I'm fed up with all the stuff you've talked about concerning record companies. What they've been doing nowadays is complete bullsh*t. I like that there's someone else out there other than me who thinks like this. :3

I love this song as it has a special place and means so much to me. Wife had Ovarian cancer 2 years ago and currently in remission. It has been quite the journey and our love has grown stronger. I won't give up on her and she keeps fighting. Keep lookin' up. The original, Straight No Chase or Peter Hollens. Love all of the versions. Of course I love acapella so...

My boyfriend and I were having trouble with our relationship. He came home and I was listening to your music channel because your beautiful voice cheers me up. When it got to this song my boyfriend got up off the couch, came over to me, wrapped his arms around me and started singing along. We both started crying because it was so fitting. I have had the hardest day I have ever had. 2 months ago, my wife's mother passed away, three days ago my wife's little 12 year old brother passed away. I have had to watch my wife go through two of the hardest things someone can go through, and as her heart broke, so did mine. His voice has helped me heal, even if its in a small way.

My best friends older brother commited suicide three years ago. i realized how selfish it was and i also realized that i have to live for the ones that gave up. i have to live the life they couldnt because of others torturing it out of them
GWRage One of my friends committed suicide just over a year ago, and it just crushed so many people who loved her. Thank you for living the life that she can't live anymore. We're all survivors. :')
+GWRage I'm a bit late replying to this but suicide isn't selfish, no one NEEDS to live for anybody, if someone can't handle life anymore they shouldn't have to live on just for their family. Of course suicide isn't the best option, but people have the right to do as they please.
Evan Leigh suicide is selfish, yes you may have the freedom to do whatever, but suicide is very selfish, but sadly it happens mostly because other people are being selfish which results in people just wanting to end their lives
