I definitely think your eldest child would feel super responsible if you asked him if he wants to take charge of a cart when you go shopping! I was 9, almost 10, when my youngest brother was a baby. My mom asked me to help her with pushing our cart at the grocery store when my brother would start crying and she had to soothe him. I felt this great sense of responsibility and meaning when i was asked to help and i even asked her at the store to just push the cart anyway, even if my bro wasnt fussy. The littlest things like pushing a cart, peeling potatoes, any little mundane task made me feel like a grown up and respected as a capable person. (Now i wish someone else would peel potatoes or push my cart 😂 weird how those same tasks feel like such a drag now that i HAVE to do them myself as an adult.)
I thought the same. Your oldest can push the 2nd cart. He will feel so grown up in making a real contribution, and you won't have to make an extra trip. I'm with you regarding raisins in oatmeal cookies. They just go together. I like to cook raisins in my oatmeal porridge, too. With cinnamon. 😋

Feta cheese and Kalamata Olives are two of my favorite things! But it has to be authentic feta, made of sheep's milk and packed in brine. The stronger and saltier, the better!
My local farm has feta made from goats milk! It comes packed in water 💦 Best feta on the planet!!! I love raisins in oatmeal cookies! Also walnuts & chocolate chips 😋

I'm team "oatmeal raisin" cookie. I always refrigerate my dough overnight to let the oats hydrate, it makes for really nicely chewy cookies. In the winter I switch it up and make oatmeal craisin cookies because cranberries are awesome. If you like those silicone bags go back and get more soon because they had the * star on the tag which means they won't be restocking them I'm sure you probably noticed that, but just in case you didn't ;)
I went back and they were gone! Such a bummer! But now I know to keep an eye out for a good deal in Amazon :) I just learned about the star last night!
I wonder if we have a sign that a product is kosher in my country or not. I'll have to look next month when I go shopping, not that it affects me directly but it's interesting to me. Hi Chana! I never got out of Cosco spending less than 100 dollars and that was going monthly for 2 people! Paper goods, condiments, drug store items, and various treats, books and seasonal items, wow, did that add up quickly! I think you did really well, I thought it would more money! I love Costco. I need to go soon. It will be a huge haul. I HATE raisins! I LOVE cashews, but I have to have roasted and salted. I totally get buying the paper products at Costco. They are so much more cost effective. Watching this reminded me to add aluminum pans to my list. They are so expensive at the grocery store. We use ours in our smoker and I also use them if I take a meal/dish to someone. Not having to worry about returning a dish is the best! Have a great week and a blessed and restful Shabbat.

I am in 🇨🇦 and though many of our products at Costco are the same I don’t think we have that salsa. I’ll have to check out the refrigerated section to see if I can find it. I know we won’t have the Texas toast. 😕 I am pretty sure I’ve seen Ziploc silicone bags, and I will be curious to see how much they are charging 🇨🇦. Hi Chana, I get amazed every time you do a Costo trip😆 everything is so huge and its not something that you can find in Europe And for all of that you payed 400$ That is insane to me. 42 protein bars? That alone would be more than 50€. Not to mention the milk and the cheese. We pay 3€ for a little bag of cheese that isnt even 200g. 🤣🤣 Especially when you have a big family, its definitely worth it.
Hi Chana thank you for sharing your life with all of us. I always love the haul videos. The pack sizes you have over in the US always amaze me. Over here in Europe you might get 10 to 15 bars in a package not 30. On the one hand it looks handy to be able to get a month worth of snacks in one go, but they also look quite bulky.
Costco trips definitely take up a lot of space but luckily we have a large pantry so we have a place to store variety :) Otherwise it definitely wouldn’t work as well
Hi Channa...when I make oatmeal cookies I include BOTH raisins and Chocolate Chips! I've never seen commercially made oatmeal cookies like that so if I'm buying cookies instead of making them I usually buy one box of each. My mother's family are the only ones I know of who make their oatmeal cookies with both but we all love them.

I just joined Costco! I do enjoy your hauls and the variety of what they sell that I decided to join. Who doesn't need 10 lbs of granola or a 64:oz bottle of evo? Lol!
Haha the Canadian in me saw your bag of cups and jumped to bagged milk 😂 (yes it is a thing! It’s a three pack with bags of milk that you place in a pitcher and cut a corner for pouring). Oh and definitely need raisins in oatmeal cookies!
I am definitely oatmeal and raisin cookie fan. I also use butterscotch morsels with the cookies. Yesterday I made oatmeal butterscotch cookies and I added Craisins. OMG so delicious!❤

I grew up in west Texas (Snyder) and Mrs. Baird's bread was a staple in our house. I think it was made and packaged in Abilene. Brings back good childhood memories! 😍

I just made oatmeal cookies with raisins yesterday. My husband thought the raisins were chocolate chips at first and freaked. He doesn’t like chocolate chips in his oatmeal cookies. I had to talk him down, lol. I usually put walnuts in too but didn’t have any. I had a roll of plastic wrap last 20 years. My kids grew up only knowing one roll of wrap! 😂I hardly use it anymore. One of the older children could push a trolley. If you just kept the gluten free stuff for your son, it would last longer as only him eating it. Because my partner doesn’t eat the bread I eat. I buy a few loaves & also freeze. But I put 2 slices in a ziplock bag then freeze.
OMG I LOVE LEIGH BARDUGO’S BOOKS. The Shadow&Bone trilogy kinda sets up the world, I like the Six of Crows duology that comes after better, still need to read the 2 newest books, King of Scars and Rule of Wolves. I’m an oatmeal chocolate chip person.
Those silicone reusable bags are fantastic! Yes the initial investment is steep, but so worth it. I had purchased a similar set but was double from QVC for $23. Love them! But have found the Costco version is just as good. I really like how the bags stand up in the fridge. I still purchase the occasional Ziploc, for outings where I know the silicon bags will be lost by kiddo. But for home: brilliant!
I enjoyed this video. Why? Because you are nice, and after seeing the yummies you bought, you assuaged my conscience for buying them myself. Love Trader Joe's! Tried tilapia for the first time recently, like it almost as much as cod or flounder. The silicone bags can be used to organize thingies in a tote bag! Enjoy your day, Hannah. 😊❤
Cliff bars, my husband and used to go out with the wildland fire teams around the West and we had cliff bars in all our sack lunches......for years and years. Oh my. We have had our fill of cliff bars. But they are better for your family than some of the other snack bars. Enjoy! 😊
I really liked the shadow and bone series. After the series aired on Netflix a lot of people bought and subsequently sold the series, so I got a nice box set off facebook marketplace for really inexpensive. That was what got me hooked on buying my „hmm let‘s see if I like the series“ series used. I hate only buying the first book and then having to wait on the second one to arrive if I liked it :D

Or have the husband come along in a second vehicle . It helps having him there for ideas and helping carry groceries. Bulk items can get heavy.

Hi Chana thank you for sharing your life with all of us. I always love the haul videos. The pack sizes you have over in the US always amaze me. Over here in Europe you might get 10 to 15 bars in a package not 30. On the one hand it looks handy to be able to get a month worth of snacks in one go, but they also look quite bulky.
Costco trips definitely take up a lot of space but luckily we have a large pantry so we have a place to store variety :) Otherwise it definitely wouldn’t work as well

Hi Channa...when I make oatmeal cookies I include BOTH raisins and Chocolate Chips! I've never seen commercially made oatmeal cookies like that so if I'm buying cookies instead of making them I usually buy one box of each. My mother's family are the only ones I know of who make their oatmeal cookies with both but we all love them.
So yum! Several people mentioned that combo but I’ve never thought of it or seen it! Might have to try!

I just made oatmeal cookies with raisins yesterday. My husband thought the raisins were chocolate chips at first and freaked. He doesn’t like chocolate chips in his oatmeal cookies. I had to talk him down, lol. I usually put walnuts in too but didn’t have any. I had a roll of plastic wrap last 20 years. My kids grew up only knowing one roll of wrap! 😂I hardly use it anymore. One of the older children could push a trolley. If you just kept the gluten free stuff for your son, it would last longer as only him eating it. Because my partner doesn’t eat the bread I eat. I buy a few loaves & also freeze. But I put 2 slices in a ziplock bag then freeze.

Those silicone reusable bags are fantastic! Yes the initial investment is steep, but so worth it. I had purchased a similar set but was double from QVC for $23. Love them! But have found the Costco version is just as good. I really like how the bags stand up in the fridge. I still purchase the occasional Ziploc, for outings where I know the silicon bags will be lost by kiddo. But for home: brilliant!

Cliff bars, my husband and used to go out with the wildland fire teams around the West and we had cliff bars in all our sack lunches......for years and years. Oh my. We have had our fill of cliff bars. But they are better for your family than some of the other snack bars. Enjoy! 😊

I really liked the shadow and bone series. After the series aired on Netflix a lot of people bought and subsequently sold the series, so I got a nice box set off facebook marketplace for really inexpensive. That was what got me hooked on buying my „hmm let‘s see if I like the series“ series used. I hate only buying the first book and then having to wait on the second one to arrive if I liked it :D
