  • A nice and simple replacement of rear brake pads on a 2006 Ducati Monster 620. If I can do it, you can do it.
    The pads I used: amzn.to/2KP5IUa

You are lucky, yours is in a pretty accessible spot. My rear is between the sprocket and the wheel up side down.

Totally stupid position, like my Diavel, which of course came with a bleeder that leaks like mad when it's unscrewed the tiniest bit.

Yea, def lucky, it was very straight forward. Yours sounds like a pain in the ASSSSS.

That's crazy. That sounds like my MTB that leaks everytime.

I'm split on getting a Ducati monster or a triumph street triple as my next bike. I would get a Ducati but I keep reading bad things about the maintenance cost.

The Monsters are pretty easy to work on. If you never do any maintenance yourself, any bike is going to be expensive. Monsters should be comparable to Street Triple for service costs. It's the bikes with tons of fairings that jack up the labor costs. My Diavel has so much crap tacked onto it to access the valves it makes the labor alone $800... Monster is FAR simpler than that. Just remove the seat and tank.

Don't you have to service it every 6500 miles, that will run like 600 dollars unless you know how to do it.

Depends on the year. Mine is every 6,000 miles and depending on the mechanic you use, yes, it can be anywhere from 600 to 900$ between parts and labor. Well worth it.

How much you pay in garage fees?

I don't pay anything for it separately, its part of my apartment fees.

What kind of ratchet is that? Looks like a torque wrench.
This video makes me wish I'd gotten a Streetfighter S instead of the Diavel for ease of service.

it's this lil guy - a bicycle tool but good for small torque jobs. :)
