Its that time again... Your Motorcycle just failed inspection and you need to replace your brake pads before you can legally ride again. Well... Maybe thats just me. Either way, we get a new video out of it! I linked the brake pads above. The blake brake dust from the old brake pads has been annoying me for quite some time. So I'm glad that I get to replace these things. The new pads say they dont have dust... so time will tell.

Damn, that video quality from both cameras is insanely good.
I found it funny how the phone was able to instantly keep up and focus on your hand then on the brake pads back and forth when you were tightening the bolts again.
That's the Dual Pixel focus, from what i know its top of the line feature for a camera

this video really shows how amazing the dual pixel autofocus is. the transitions between focus points is almost seamless and you gotta give props to samsung for that.

Zack, it's kinda funny that the brake calipers didn't drop when you removed it. With pads that thin (which is way past the minimum IMO) and no pressure on the calipers, it should just slide off, in my experience. However yours practically stuck on to the calipers and cause it to rotate as well.Anyway, hoped your rear doesn't squeal, because usually we put copper grease onto the back plate of the new pads..
Jeah, thought the same about the copper paste.....
I own a note 7 too und I really love the video quality. I like to film in 1440p or 1080p60hz (German Tvs are 60hz, like the "PAL" formats) and there really is no matching other phone camera I used.
Yup, copper grease reduces brake squeal immensely lol..
I'm a Sony fan and user and uses a Z5. I love my camera a lot too, but i give credit where it's due and most certainly the quality I see from this video is great.
I understand your point as Sony's 1080p60 also comes off as a bit grainy in low light. but it's something i can live with.
I respect your choice and think the Note 7 is a future proof phone if it is a good batch. :D
i would have changed the oil too. it already looks brownish and that's a sign that it has already absorbed a lot of humidity and that means it is starting to degrade the entire breaking system (corroding the calipers, damaging the rubber seals, pipes, etc) most manufacturers recommend the change every year for a reason.
That's also true now that I look back at the video.. Don't forget the brake lines.lol.. It may not corrode the brake lines( depending on material) but it sure as he'll block it.
Good job bro. My father in law died in a motorcycle accident after someone did a bad break job on a ninja back in the late '80 early '90 so be careful.

well didn't know you were a motorcyclist. I have a GSf600 myself sadly here in the UK we have restrictions depending on how old you are so at the moment I can't get anything over 92 bhp and has to be restricted to 47 bhp. Nice bike you got there btw and good video.

You have a Ducati!? By far my favorite bike manufacturer. My 60+ year old neighbor has a diavel and a multistrada (I think). I just know he has 2 ducatis an a harley. He also has a Mercedes AMG SL65 and a guitar shaped pool with the headstock being a hot tub. This man has a lot of toys that I wish I could afford. But personally I will never own a ducati or really any bike larger than a 500. I had a little suzuki GZ250 for putting around the nieghborhood but I value my life enough not to get on the highway with that small of a bike. The reason I don't want anything larger is....well.... I'm wreckless. Its not a question of IF I will crash its a matter of when. So I think I will take the pansy way out and just not risk it.

Hi Zack, you know you should clean the caliper and the pin before installing new brake pads, right? Pads can stuck on old grease, dirt and dust accumulated inside of brake caliper, your new brake pads won't move freely and can wear prematurely.

Mine has anti rattle (?) shims between the pads and pistons. I was hoping to check which way round they were meant to, because pads and all fell out when I removed the retaining pin.

Am i wrong to always have had the assumption that to break new pads in you need to do atleast 5-10 hard stops using solely the rear pads at around 35-45 mph to get maximum life and performance out of them or has this changed?

As you seem to be a bike/Ducati- AND a technicians-guy I thought I give this a shot.
I have a Ducati S1000 DS -03.
The instrument cluster have a problem wiht the turnsignal indicator and the high-beam indicator. It works fine on the bike, but the LEDs on the cluster doesn´t light up.
My local bike.shop wants almost $700 for a new one..:-(
Do you know if the LEDs on the motherboard can be replaced ??
