@@matnovakInitial Unity has a similar feature where the Eurobeat gets louder the faster you go. And you can still add your own songs to Initial Unity. So the dev could totally do it if he wanted to.
@@matnovak it's an eq automation. whenever the car slows down, the automation cuts out the low end of the song (this is where bass and kicks are). im 99% sure it applies it to an audio file - so it would work with 'custom' audio files you put into the game files or whatever.
i like how the song is saying "should we let this feeling grow, go, go.. should we let this feeling grow.." and that feeling is the high speed and pushing the car to its limits - growing that feeling, because if you slow down or brake, the feeling goes away as the music slowly fades out hence the feeling stops growing. It's such a good pick for the soundtrack and i'm so happy it's a song that commonly plays at the beginning of the game so it brings more exposure to the song.

isn't it crazy how this little game can confer a sense of speed far more realistically, intense, and anxiety inducing than any of the soulless mainstream modern titles? I played quite a lot of NFS Unbound, and it was cool and all, loved the punky vibe with the extra 2d fx, but it was like playing Asseto Corsa or whatever, no exaggerated sense of speed. This feels like the old NFSU-1/2 as a kid, where everything blurs, shakes, warps, NOS gives you this otherworldly trail of light, etc.
