@@fanglespangle110 It was a drawing thing and it had something to do with Bowsette, I think. Luke was drawing, Andy walks in and asks “What ARE you doing?” while Luke panics and tries to hide the drawing. And then says that line.

I literally laughed out loud when Luke said, “I’ll tell you a cool way to put on your jacket” and then proceeded to demo the method that my kids were taught by their preschool teachers.

@@timallenbrown YUP! That episode is one of my all time favorites. Roy bet Jen that he could get a response on Lonely Hearts as a total bastard. The shades and leather jacket killed me. Moss going bad was hysterical because he was shoplifting video games.

I genuinely think it’s hard to name many presenting duos stronger than Luke and Ellen - they have it down to a fine art.
Crazy thing was I believe before the first show that hadn't actually met.. just that very rare instant brother/sister chemistry which so many shows spend forever trying to nail!

Luke's descend into car-nerddom over the last years is one of the most fascinating things on this channel.
I love how Ellen is excited for Luke even though its clear she’s not a driving game fan herself. You can see the friendship between them. I love these two, and would watch them discuss pretty much anything.
I like how Ellen didn't KNOW Luke read Lord of the Rings before the movies came out, but she knew it.

Luke discovering JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) is an ~aesthetic~ in itself.
If this is what show of the weekend is becoming (a highlight of games that are under the radar) I'm all for it. The gameplay/music blasted my ears off though.

@@daftpanda6533 To be fair, "needing better sound normalization" is a hallmark of pretty much everything Oxboxtra does.
3:18 Luke feels like an impostor for not being into this scene when it "originated", but I think that makes him liking it now more genuine. You're not vibing with it because of just nostalgia, what it would have made you feel back then, but because of what it makes you feel like now.
I really hope this Game gets more exposure because it REALLY deserves it.
The missing the turn off issue reminds me so much of Midnight Club 3. Sometimes it wasn't even because you didn't see the turn but because you were going so fast you achieved escape velocity and were mid air when you needed to turn.
Midnight Club 3 is still imho one of the best racing games out there. Rockstar needs to make another one.
This reminds me of the Tokyo Xtreme Racer series on PS2. Luke also nailed what those games were all about when he talked about aesthetics. In high school (decades ago now WTF) my small group of friends would trade these games and talk about them and developed our own little culture that embraced anything Japanese. That might be why I’m still such a filthy anime nerd to this day. Even mentioning the bugs and issues he had with the title.. Games were full of bugs back then and the industry didn’t really have a best practice for UI design or accessibility yet either but it didn’t matter because the vibes man, the vibes…
The cool guy way to put on his jacket is the same way I taught my kids to do it when they were toddlers. So, cool kids or toddler man?

So happy to see Luke covering and being excited about this! I've been a fan of the Shutoku Battle/Tokyo Xtreme Racer games forever, and all of us in the scene are very happy to see another game like this being put out there.

Luke's "Cool Guy" way of putting on a jacket is exactly the same as the preschool children in my library, except sometimes they have to lie down on the floor to do it.

This game reminds me a lot of the NFS Underground games, which are still my favourites from that series

As others have mentioned, that is how we show the four-year-olds to put on their jackets in preschool. It promotes independence, since they can do it themselves (so, basically, it is actually the coolest way to put on a jacket)
Vibes on this are immaculate. That customisation screen really feels like walking into a branch of UpGarage.
And again the joy of seeing Luke become a rev head will never get old.
This cat is different from any other car game. It’s a love letter to 90s car culture and 2000s tuner video games that’s slowly paving its own way
God i love this game because it actually have an identity that 90% modern racing games dont like, just from a glance you can tell it is nightrunners unlike forza and gran turismo where you have to look at it for 10 minutes to figure out which is which and the soundtrack too! Its awesome it goes hand to hand with the aesthetic specially emotion engine, binary and cartz.
The one complaint i have is that the song Just 2 c u by dazegxd isnt on the game

This reminds me of the Tokyo Xtreme Racer series my friends and I would play when we were younger. So cool and had a really dedicated following, but never had commercial success so it’s pretty much dead. Really cool to see the same type of game live on through this project!

I remember seeing Midnight club 3 for the first time, on my way to school, a friend was playing it on his PSP, I had to have it... And about a year later, I did. The fact that game looked as good, controlled as good and ran as good on the bloody PSP still baffles me to this day, same with resident evil revelations on 3ds during my college days...
As a HUGE fan of the old Tokyo Xtreme Racer games, Wangan Midnight, Initial D, and JDM in general. I thank you SO MUCH for bringing this game to my attention. Downloading the prologue now and checking my budget for the kickstarter.

the car shown is among the NFSU2 possible starter cars to be fair. The arrow also reminds me of the old NFS games or midnight club. The rear mirror especially reminds me of midnight club. But having an Interior? What is this sorcery? Thanks for showing us this game luke. I am intrigued.

Love the early 2000's graphic engine aesthetics; reminds me of 'Fighting Force' :D Also Japan is amazing. I was so close to visiting it one point myself. I had experience with modeling and in late 2015 I was in contact with Capcom about the facial likeness role of Leon for the Resident Evil 2 Remake. I failed to mention I also have a voice acting background, in the end I lost the part and I can't forgive myself for wasting such an opportunity to visit Asia...
