what ive noticed is that in the turns they slow down quiet a bit and npcs usually spawn on the optimal racing line just to throw you off. and i always like to keep a bit of distance between myself and the ai since Ive had a handful of time of the ai running me off the road or pit maneuvering me.
Everything about this game screams tension and style. The passage of time suggested in each loading screen; adding to the atmosphere. The text and its grandiose presentation. The sound design reflecting the culture. Absolute design. Just absolute.
The song "Leeching" plays as you gain money and rep from beating someone and I love that undertone. It feels course and disconnected from the sport of racing. Kinda how Megalo Box handled boxers and Armored Core handles pilots. A stray dog struggling for scraps in a world that forgot it's dream. Not so dissimilar. But the pavement is freeing isn't it? It looks sick and I'm excited to play it.

The game ran on general purpose engine called Unity Which PS3 already struggled with at the end of its lifetime Back in the day there's fewer general purpose game engine, most developers code their own for maximum efficiency. Even Unreal 1 and 2 are officially mostly for FPSes.
Wild that it takes tiny devs like this to do something that triple A devs refuse to do. Quit destroying franchises and bring back the classic feels that worked. NFS Underground and Burnout, they just work (but not Todd Howard type just work, actually work).

you actually dont upgrade anything to get a 6th gear. In the auction house if you purchase a 200RS, they all come standard with a 6 speed. different car than what you'd start out with.
@@jeffsworldd thanks for the info. I actually beat the g company boss gtr after 2 tries and so many restart lol there is also a bug when racing the boss at the start when exting the highway to the tunnel my car seems to jump upside down

But it is a 180sx.. You probably can remove the black plastic (i havent played night runners) and I’m assuming he swapped the 5 speed out for a 6 speed
@@zeckor.It’s still a demo game. I believe that we could do the transmission swap and maybe remove the black trim. But so far it seems like the game doesn’t allow anyone to do so. And 180SX have the trim in game, 200SX does not. It’s not just about irl, but more about the game is still demo so it lacks quite a bit of features.
I’m hung up on what I’d like to donate to this game on the kick starter page. Because I genuinely feel like it’s worth the money. Be careful on the mods your car starts to over heat like crazy when you’re running all prototype engine parts ❤.
Yeah I figured that out too I turned it all the way down and lowered the fov as much as possible but I still had trouble seeing anything cause the roads are so sparsely lit It just straight up made me quit playing 😆 @@jeffsworldd

The car sound desight should be overhauled. For example this 800hp car has the same engine sound as stock shitbox, it should be deeper and more visceral as the engine gets rebuilt.
Which version of the game is this? the current steam version has bad AI imo compared to older builds. Right now they rubber band way too hard, and litterally throw themselves into corners passing you by turning harder than should be possible, only for them to stop in the middle of a straight so you can catch up. I notice you staying in a gear longer than necessary at times. Is this to keep the AI at a distance where the rubber banding doesn't activate?

Stripping down your car is meta, you shave off extra weight that even going straight to carbon fibre parts won’t get you

yeah its a very noticable difference but in a good way! keeps you on edge for basically every race towards the end of the demo
I dig the simplified headlights sprite that shows up in your rear view mirror. Really amps up the anxiety.

I was doing like 370kmh and the game crashed, my pc ain't the best but it ain't a potato so I don't think it would run well on a ps2
