HIJABI HAIR CARE TIPS YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • In this hijabi care care video, so I've got some great tips that you can include in your hair care routine to keep your hair thick, healthy and strong under your hijab. As hijabi's we can also face problems with receding hairline, thinning hair due to neglect so I hope you you get great ideas on how to grow your hair under your hijab. The most important thing to remember is that we also need a hair care routine or a slightly tailored hijabi hair care routine that can accommodate our needs since we cover our hair for a large part of our day.
You can grow long and healthy hair just like everyone else sisters. It just takes some extra TLC.
Remember, these are just my ideas, some things that work for me may not work for you and always check with your doctor before taking any supplements.
I did not know that I had a hole in my cardigan until i was editing this video and it was too good a video not to upload, so very sorry if it offends anyone. :(
Disclaimer: Wearing hijab does not cause hair loss, bad edges or thin hair. These issues are as a result of bad hair care practices.
Also, THIS IS NOT A SPONSORED VIDEO, just sharing some of the things that work for me.
Do Grow - Local Beauty Store
Jamaican black castor oil - www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...
Vitale Olive Oil Hair Mayonnaise - www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...
Netted Scarf - Look for it in your local Black hair Beauty Supply Stores
    Similar item - www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Army-Milita...
    Hair Steamer - www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...
    Natural Oil - www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...
It is actually best to buy your natural oils from food supply stores as you get more for your money, it's cheaper and because they can be eaten, they tend to be more so in their most natural state.
Essential oils are different: They cannot be use straight, they have to be diluted accordingly so read the label properly as to the directions of use. I buy my coconut, almond, olive and avocado oils from my local food store in the market area.

A good tip to add is when tying your hair into a bun before putting on your scarf, put it in a low or loose bun but with one of those big hair ties. They tend to put less tension on the hair which helps prevent breakage. Or even wearing loose braids under your scarf for even less tension.

I’ve noticed the way I place my head on the ground during prayer has caused pulling at my widows peak and I’ll have dry flaky skin there from time to time. But no other hair issues, Alhamdullilah. I definitely think it’s about how you care for your hair since performing Ablution with water can dry out your hair very easily. So moisturizing is so important! 💯

  • @iamamarie
    @iamamarie 6 ปีที่แล้ว +21

As Salaamu Alaikum. One of the main things to helping maintain moisture is first finding out your hair porosity. Knowing your hair porosity will help you determine what hair products you need for your hair. All hair products aren’t for all hair types. Also cotton hijabs are not good to wear all the time. Cotton draws moisture out.

Great content Nafisa, yes satin or silk helps at night to prevent breakage and maintain moisture. When you in the privacy of your home take the scarf off though let is get rest and allow air to flow. Also massage your scalp gently this stimulates the scalp. Very interesting hearing the experiences of other women, loving the support you give each other.

Mashallah Thank you so much for this video. I don’t wear a hijab but I found some great tips I can still use to take care of my hair the halal way. For example, I never thought about hair products containing gelatin, so now that I’m aware, I can make sure to look at the ingredients of hair products I buy. Also the netted scarf for bedtime makes sense too. thank you sister :)...Also, loving the room decor :).

I'm still watching the video so I don't know if it was mentioned but I know for me when I started noticing my hair thinning and hairline receding slightly I stopped putting my hair in a ponytail and started doing two French braids and then I would take the two braids and put that in a bun at the base of my neck, Alhamdullilah, I believe it's working (hope this helped someone)

Sadia Hasan Doesn’t it look weird when you put your scarf on, on top of the braids? I mean doesn’t it show a weird shape? Lol. I know for me it does when I put a scarf on after I braid my hair, and then it’s hard for the scarf to stay on.

I'm a hijabi and my scalp is very dry so I only wash it with shampoo once a week and in my routine I use a hair mask for 1 h. This helps my scalp to be moisturized and to not itch but the hair mask I use contain glycerin. So I tried an organic hair mask for 2 weeks that didn't contain glycerin and my hair didn't become soft or smooth and my scalp didn't get relieved from the itchiness that I usually feel.

Hina -Hina There are some products Sis Nafisa uses for her hair and that was what she shared with tips.
✔Jamaican black castor oil- to grow your hairline and thicken it.
✔ An hair mask which also makes the hair thicker and grows faster.
✔ A netted scarf to keep in the moisture while sleeping.
✔ Using a steaming cap once a month at home helps make your scalp healthier.
✔ She mentioned that we should avoid hair creams that contain glycerine and gelatin if we cover our hair for a long time. But for those who don't, it's okay to use creams with those ingredients.
      I hope these help. ☺

Hwang Minhyun's Fox check with your doctor first that it's not an internal issue. Secondly I would say, avoid doing tight hijab styles perhaps try those one piece ones that you just slip over your head and then follow the tips I mentioned as well as healthy eating. You can also try hair vitamins and see if they help. I've heard that hairfinity works well for alot of people. Hope that helps inshallah.

Salaam Nafisa. I'm a revert, i shaved all my hair off a month ago but I want to know, how would I wear my hijab now that my hair is short because I loved the way a grip or scrunchie made my hijab look like my hair was long lol... So now I don't wanna look like an alien with a flat head at the back. Any advice

Fawziah Tawakali lol, wear it normally, inshallah no one will know that you don't have hair except your family. You won't look strange.

Nafisa's Pearlz yes. I never knew the name, I just walked in the store and bought it as I didn't have a volumizer lol but today I just took my scarf and put it in a bun and left the house but Fridays I make sure I am always respectable

Maybe try wearing a shower cap when in the shower and in wearing it in braids under hijab?

It's so sad to have to cover up all the time. Not to be rude, but why would you pay much attention to your hair when it is never ever on display? Why all the effort? Just for your husbands? It's just sad! Smh

    • @lovleen00

Well its sad that you can't understand that some people want to look good for their own pleasure not to show people. Actually some peoples lives don't revolve around pleasing others 24* 7. Really sad that you can't get it.

Stranger- Yah exactly we are like pearls and we don't want to show the world our beauty because nobody deserves it except close relatives and our husbands. So no its not sad because in Muslim countries with a lot of hijabis and women in abayas, nobody judges one another in looks but their personality and mind, not how big their assets are or how on fleek their makeup is or how slim their legs are.

@@RimazAboelgasim that's something i will say i have admired about islam is the modesty and the women dont have to worry about superficial beauty standards 👍👍👍
