  • For this series I’ll be taking you with me through New York & New Jersey to various Music Stores & Record Shows. Sifting through CD’s, vinyl, and whatever else the stores have to offer. Then at the end I’ll un-bag the loot and discuss why I chose the ones I did. Come on…let’s go to the record store!
    For previous episode (#44), see link:

    Not sure if you can say where you are? But can tell you r at the best sound exchange in Wayne. That place and staff are the coolest without the attitude you find in some shops. Shout out to Anthony! He is very laid back yet so professional. All the best!

      Yes one location was Sound Exchange, the others were Jack’s Music Shoppe, Princeton Record Exchange, and Factory Records.

    Cinderella was really good live....I saw them open up for David Lee Roth in 1986. Great show from both bands!

      Wow! What a show that must have been. My favorite Glam Metal show was Poison & Slaughter in 1990.

      Saw Cinderella when they opened for Bon Jovi in the 80s ....they were great! And yes Frampton Comes Alive is a great live record! When I was 11 I wanted the vinyl for Christmas ,yes I'm old lol. Still have it!!!

      In the mid 1980s, the owner of our local record shop said he couldn't even keep Cinderella albums in stock, that was literally his biggest seller. Remember, that was the era of Van Halen.

    That Rod Stewart Absolutely Live album is stunning. Still have my Lp copy as my cd copy was missing a few songs. Don't know if it's been properly re-released since then on cd.
    So many great Live albums!

    Have you ever come across any of the late Bob Welch's archival live albums? They're actually pretty decent because you hear him do a guitar solo toward the end on the live version of "Ebony Eyes" that is absent from his 1977 debut French Kiss. And I think one of those performances came from Cal Jam '78 - where he rocked with Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham - in Long Beach.

    I remember you showing us UK's live Night After Night album in a previous video. Did you know that some of the live songs on that album were new and on neither the band's 1978 S/T album nor its 1979 follow-up Danger Money? The title track is one of those songs, and it got significant airplay on album rock radio back in the day. My only problem with that live album is no Allan Holdsworth (who left in 1978) on it. Eddie Jobson's violin and synth solos replace AH's phenomenal guitar playing.

    I remember buying IRON BUTTERFLY LIVE at a Bradlee's dept store..cut corner bin, $1.99. "In-A-Gadda" takes up Side 2 with its lengthy drum solo.
    I bought the Commodores Live album back in the day. Good live performance, they could play.
    James Gang LIVE IN CONCERT...only complaint? Too short, someone ought reissue as a double album. :-)

    • @BrendonSnyder
      @BrendonSnyder  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Personally I hate when the live albums are changed with added in tracks to complete the show. Only because that would be like changing the running order of your favorite classic album. I don’t mind tracks added as a bonus at the end but don’t mess with the classic album running order IMO. Just release it as an alternate and keep the original.

    • @jazzpunk
      @jazzpunk 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BrendonSnyder I get it...read via wiki that the entire James Gang concert was 10 tunes. So, there's missing material from the original LP release. IF cds were around back then...maybe the whole show woulda been released? ;-)

      That album came (very) much later then when the band was active; it's the only one I do not have from them and quite rare; I hear its having a rerelease so I might get it (this time), yes the different cover irritated me too.
