- For this series I’ll be taking you with me through New York & New Jersey to various Music Stores & Record Shows. Sifting through CD’s, vinyl, and whatever else the stores have to offer. Then at the end I’ll un-bag the loot and discuss why I chose the ones I did. Come on…let’s go to the record store!

I met my wife at PREX 30 years ago. We have two PREX kids! I spent 10 years of my life working at that legendary store.
Hey Brendon , I know you try to keep your show family friendly which I very much appreciate. But I couldn’t help but laugh when you pulled on the doors and let out A mother effer. Good show also. We like the record shop videos.
I'm trimming down my collection and traded in some CDs to Princeton last week. That Robert Berry was mine. Brendon, check out the inside of the booklet for a cool surprise...
…so that is a real signature? I was wondering when I first opened it and saw it! Cool! Thanks for letting me know! I’m really really enjoying the album!
Hey Brendan , that looks like a well stocked store, plenty of choice,
I loved the start when the store was closed and your comment, made me laugh 😂
I watch a lot of your videos here in the UK we have the same sort of stuff.
I lived in NJ when I was a teenager for a while.
Many thanks 👍
@11:11 The Doors 13...my 1st Doors album. When you're a kid with no cash flow, Greatest Hits were a thing. 😊
😂...that expletive when you realized you had a two hour wait...😂...totally caught me left field!
I really know it shouldn't be...but just that moment in your day MADE my day..😂
Thank you for all the joy, entertainment, enthusiasm and fun you bring us with your awesome channel Brendon..😄
Another fun video, Brendon, and appreciate the focus on Princeton Record Exchange, a legendary locale full of surprises and good deals; I rarely leave there without something in the bag. And thanks for the attention to vinyl, my fav medium!
Long live the cd ❤
it's great to see these record stores flourishing, brings back great memories.
Brendon , great prices on the used vinyl 😎👌🇦🇺Thanks for sharing your day out mate ! Poco was 1982 I believe
I love this segment, just wish there were such stores in my native country, Panama. Most have gone out of business, and the one that stills sells CDs has a very limited selection.
Love All Your Posts!!! Did You Know that Wolfgang Van Halen recently stated that one of he and Eddie's Favorite albums was ACDC's Powerage? He said Eddie listened to it over and over and really thought it was brilliant.
Good that you are drive safely
Love the record store tours. I don’t have many in our area. I’m envious. Well done.
Hi, Brendon!
I live vicariously through your trips to the record store.!Great fun!
One of my favorite series...such a cool place. Like the Sound Exhange trips the best. Cool you have these great places around you. Thumbs up to your great determination to get there in the snow....I would do it too.
Love the used record stores as there are gems in there waiting to be discovered. Great Job as per usual.
Quicksilver Messenger Service’ Pride Of Man, from their eponymous debut album (1968)….utterly brilliant and among the finest US rock songs of the late sixties. John Cipollina’s memorable psychedelic guitar sound was unlike anybody else’s.
Love Hawkwinds, Hall of the Mountain Grill playing in the store
You’ve got to hit up Infinity Records in Massapequa Park, the craziness has to be seen!
It’s on the list of places to visit!
Being a Jersey guy myself and love of metal i know you miss Vintage vinyl Probably the greatest record store jersey ever had
Thanks for a fun adventure 🎉❤
My pleasure!
Let’s go to the record store!Hell yeah!
I've been to that record store, found some good stuff there! Good place! 👍🎶
Nice video again.. Love your “Let’s go to the record store” vids.. But I miss you doing your blind picks videos..😉
The moment when Brendon grabs the door at noon. I was thinking what would happened if the doors didn't open again ? !!! But thankfully they opened a very intense moment. Great Finds. Enjoy your music.
Hadn't seen that Signals pic disc before. Very cool.
Lol I think that was first time you shoveled since you moved to jersey I was thinking about going to music connection in Elmwood Park next Saturday first time I only live about 15 minutes from there😂
I love Princeton Record Exchange. First thing I always check are the stones and just in. Then the older/cheaper cd's.
PRX ! Had to work in Princeton and would always make time to stop there. Need to get back soon
Always enjoy your record store trips. Passing on a group I just came across recently, Big Big Train. Sounds much like older Genesis and early Peter Gabriel. Added to my new listening list for sure. All the best on the hunt.
Cant wait for their new CD
Great Video Brendon
BOC Cd
That was fun! I felt like I went with you! I saw some great used vinyls you flipped through there and was hoping you would buy that Greetings From Asbury Park album. 😮 I saw quite a few other vinyls you flipped through too that I would have bought myself. Great music store! Glad the snow didn’t stop you!
Glad you enjoyed the trip vicariously through the video. Also, I already own that Springsteen album. 👍
I love this segment, just wish there were such stores in my native country, Panama. Most have gone out of business and the one that stills sells CDs, have a very limited selection. If I ever go back to NY I'll make sure to take a detour to NJ.
The John Waite on Rock Candy is a great score. Very pricey online. Note the album was produced by Neil Giraldo. Cheers
😂 you wanted the beast - you got the beast
That BOC is a good find. And a good price!
Brendon this video clearly shows your dedication to the channel! Weather be damned. How about a road trip where Anthony visits your collection!
Doctor Eddie Ganja here Love your Chanel I got into Rock music at a Young age Love Mahogany Rush Frank Marino Yeah those Record stores Are what I grew up on You did get some great stuff there Black Sabbath became my all time favorite band in 1974 after watching California Jam on ABCs In Concert I saw The Black and Blue Tour 1980 Love Deep Purple Rainbow I also like Tommy Bolins music Other bands people forgot about Riot Legs Diamond Yeah cool stuff Keep Rockin
Good find on John Waite
Good store. Was there a couple months ago. Need to go back. I'm in Philly so it's only a 40 minute ride.
You’re closer than me! 👍
You maybe have them already but if not give Baby Woodrose from Denmark a listen. Money For Soul, Love Comes Down and Kickin' Ass and Taking Names is my favorites with them. Modern 60-70th's garage rock at it's best!
A true music warrior lol.
That new Steve Hackett album sounds wonderful in 5.1 surround sound.
That Frank Marino, and Mahogany Rush disc is golden
Man, I wish I could find a CD of Blow Your Cool for a buck-ninety-nine. I still have the vinyl but I no longer have a turntable! Can't believe you passed it up.
I'm wearing that same gnr shirt today.
The volume on Another page is very low. I know you want to crank some Christopher Cross.
I got a few bad masters on Razor and Tie.
I saw your buddy, Anthony on Thursday. I drove all the way down from the Catskills. Nice store! I bought an Albert King Born under a bad sign cd with bonus tracks that I somehow missed along with John Coltrane's Sound on Atlantic and a Cab Calloway compilation from Columbia Legacy which heard on TV/radio just that morning. He didn't have much soul but there were over 100 used jazz titles to pick from.
Dorian
Thank you for pronouncing Ace's last name correctly!
That DETECTIVE album is awesome. Their sound is identical to LED ZEPPELIN
Never been to many NJ record stores, as I always went to Vintage Vinyl. Too bad they closed. Oh, and sometimes to Music Connection, in Elmwood Park
Hey Brendan grabbed that Blue Oyster Cult Heaven Forbid today 3.99 , I live in South Jersey , so its like a hour drive to PREX, they still had it! Thats usually thru the roof on discogs, saddesst is I HAD IT , i sold my collection too long a story but rebuilding
Glad you were able to get it! 👍
When the final bell is rung and bands that had two guitar players are ranked, I believe Quicksilver Messenger Service will be considered one of the best. The first two LPs are essential. I miss NJ. I grew up in Hillside. An "out there" LP you might try and find is "Part One" by The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band.
Lots of Aussie rock
I learn of Chris Cross thru Jorn's cover of his song "Ride Like the Wind". Need to hunt down his stuff.
We got more snow then expected
Chris Cross is currently thought of as a poster boy for Yacht Rock. He is way deeper than that. In a Beato interview, I learned that, pre-Pop stardom, Cross' Texas Rock band opened for Zeppelin a few times. Blowing my mind, Cross mentions how he sat in for a sick Ritchie Blackmore when they opened for Purple.
Cross' debut is full of the great session players (Steely Dan quality). Michael Omartian produced.
Love Pink Floyd animals. Rumor on the street is rush is coming back.
I'm the same way no weather holds me up from going to the record store.
Those are some good prices on the cds. Alot of record stores will price them 8.99 or higher even for the common ones like that GnR.
Wow you know how to be positive? From all your other comments I just assumed you’re a negative guy. 👊
In Australia, record stores both second hand and new, are pretty well extinct, JB Hifi are the main retailer for music and mainly specialise in computers and white goods, now have a dwindling range of new albums and cds . Even in Sydney, only three old style music shops exist, Brisbane has one, and Melbourne has one or two. There are a few vinyl only stores that popped up over the last decade, but generally not well stocked and very expensive..typical 2nd hand record is $25 to $50 or a second hand AC/DC record is never under $75 even for mediocre stuff like "Blow up your video". CD stores are virtually non existent now and most record companies have shut down their local cd manufacturing plants and import cds, making them expensive again. The Beatles blue and red reissues on cd are $58..the vinyl is $170 each. But people are willing to buy at that price.
Last time i was in that store was 2002 and bought Leatherwolf "Street Ready" . I had gf at the time that lived very close to there . Now i'm thinking about going back . Didn't know they bought CD's and DVD's ? Do you know what they pay for them ? Probably not that much. I have thousands because i use to sell CD's and DVD's at flea markets from 1996-2005ish . I'm more than an hour from there, so will have to check it out at some point.
Robert Berry's Pilgrimage To A Point is a great album, I have two different versions & track listing. Check out his current band 'Six By Six' with Saga's Ian Chrichton & Saxons ex-drummer. New album due!
Love your commitment to music. But - do you ever go to Live Shows ???
That is not a loot of snow, come to Norway i show i some moore snow he he
Cool music shop Brendon
Hey we both had the same first rem album
Tony Kaye was also a member of Badfinger on one of their last two albums
Yes their very last album Say No More (1981). I’ve been looking for that one too.
Not a bad album, but I love Airwaves!!! @@BrendonSnyder
I have alot of the cds you are showing.
Great video Brendan. Like a bit of snow is going to stop you from going to the record store😂. Glad you take care driving in those conditions - looked a bit scary to me😮
Detective "Ain't None Of Your Business" was actually demoed by Peter Criss for a KISS track that was never finalized.
*@Brendon and everybody: You 'need' that (unliked?) third CRIMSON GLORY album for the two awesome ballads alone! "Deep inside your heart" & "Song for angels" are very good and I have always loved these two songs since they came out in 1991! Totally underrated stuff of a 'unlucky' album at the time. Please check them out, they are HERE on TH-cam!*
PS: IF the new incarnation of the band is smart they include at least one of these songs in their setlist!!!
✝Rest in peace, Midnight✝
"Angels - wait for tomorrow
Before you smile you gotta cry sometimes
Angels - a new day will follow
Even angels need to learn how to fly"
what the riaa record you have on the wall? i have a Anthrax and Def Leppard. it looks like journey but not sure.
You have to go to factory records store in Dover NJ
Clearly you are new to my channel because I’ve posted quite a few Let’s Go To The Record Store episodes featuring Factory Records. Problem with Factory is they barely have any CDs and they are not organized at all.
Does PREX still have the dollar bins on the floor? Spent countless hours sifting through those bins back in the day. Found tons of gems.
Oh yes they’re still there! But the wall has $2 and $3 CDs so it’s worth a go at those as well. Those are equivalent to dollar albums from years go.
Agreed!@@BrendonSnyder
Question: why are come cds in this like security protected plastic case and some aren’t? It’s hard for me to believe that Cat Scratch fever is that sought after?
🤘😎🤘
I’ve been listening the shit out of 7 Mary 3 lately.
Hawkwind playing in the background ,do you like Hawkwind ? I have that particular album that was playing at the store.
Which album was it?
Hall Of The Mountain Grill@@BrendonSnyder
Be careful shoveling snow it could give an old man a heart attack
Shovel that white shit. Glad to see you didn't get disheveled. Onto the record store. Just played that John Waite album today (after I saw you pull the CD) Tim Pearce is the lead guitarist. That's cool.
Did you ever figure out the song at 12:16 in this video? I’m curious what it is myself.
Only one question, where do you find the time and the money to go buy all those CD's?
I work hard and make time for the things I love. To be honest neither one requires that much income or time. Being efficient also helps. 👍
13k in 2024! Very sad there are stickers on some of the jewel cases.
🇧🇷
What did you do for the two hours
Got breakfast, went to a bookstore, began editing this video with the footage I had shot on the way. Tried to make the best use of the time even though all I wanted was to be at the record store.
@@BrendonSnyder it was a very odd storm where more snow fell then predicted however it was a good thing it ended as fast as it did it it could've been way more snow.... Glad you were able to go and enjoy... I have to check this store out one day...
How did you spend the few hours you had to kill waiting for the record store to open ??!!
Coffee ?
As already mentioned your response when you found the store closed was very funny. Probably not so much for you at the time !!
Would you like to hear it??
Can't stream any of The Fixx albums from MCA records. Plus many others albums. Streaming is convenient for basic music listeners. Own your music!!!!!
