People new to driving are opting for automatic transmission,without experience they get into all sorts of problems, they think that, just on the drive mode and acceleration is driving. Infact driving an is a technique which is a process of learning with driving experience. From my point of view TC would be the best choice. Provided the transmission oil level is maintained. Also, avoiding water to seep inside the transmission. 👌👌👌👍🏻

Very good podcast. Lot of information shared. A buyer for an automatic car should watch this video before shortlisting cars.
In AMT for long stops at a signal, you can engage handbrake directly in D mode. The clutch will get disengaged. When starting again, just release the handbrake and press the accelerator. Creep mode will get disconnected when clutch is disengaged. This is why we need to press the accelerator to start moving again.
Which car in India have this feature. I drive Hexa AMT. Does it have?

AMT is a successful technology and cost effective
Actually IMT shifts faster than manual because while engaging the clutch we have to disengage accelerator where in IMT it's not necessary to do so. I am using Sonet IMT which is hassle free to use. Its fun to drive beyter than manual
Diesel or petrol?
Not a correct way. You need to disengage accelerator while shifting gear for smooth gear change and longevity. Please check the manual and IMT doesn’t shift faster than manual it always tries to rev match while switching gears and u can’t dump clutch for instant response.

People are conveying AMT is cheapest automatic but I faced an incident in Tata Nano AMT variant AMT unit got failed and Tata service center quoted 1.75Lacs for replacement, I wondered even the car will not go to that price but this AMT replacement is costing this much. So be aware not any automatic is cheap for replacement. AMT failures majorly occurred if car is not used frequently bcoz the AMT actuator piston will failed if not running frequently.

I have VW Vento DSG, My observation in DSG is that we need to read owner manual first and learn how to drive a DSG safely. It is clearly mentioned in the manual that we should avoid driving car in 2nd gear when speed is less then 20Kmph for long durations. Usually, DSG shifts to 2nd gear immediately when starting from stop (within seconds after started to move - let us say ~5kmph). You could notice that engine RPM remains constant at some where around 1.2K for speeds up to 20Kmph in 2nd gear in D mode. This is the time the vehicle is moving with clutch partially engaged which results in gear box heating (clutch pack heating).
Usually, we drive car at this speed (5 to 20 kmph) in slow moving traffic. We could switch to manual mode in these scenarios until car speed crosses 20Kmph then change to drive mode (especially when driving in hilly or incline areas when speed =1.2K as per my observation.
Also recommended to re-set the DSG every 5K kms which will help to re-tune the clutch packs for any wear and quick shifting the gears. We could re-set the DSG ourselves by following below procedure.
DSG Reset Procedure
1) Put the key in the ignition and turn on - Do not start the car.
2) Hold down the accelerator pedal fully for at least 10 seconds (many suggest 20 seconds). You will feel a little click under your foot at you push down the pedal fully.
3) Release the pedal - turn the key in the ignition.

Don’t go for amt , you will have the engine noise in the cabin stick with cvt or at . Based on his review I went with baleno amt I regret. The noise will be like the sound when your driving your manual In 1st gear ( I am talking about the noise )
