Drumeo, y'all have been pushing your drums pretty hard lately. They're made by Alesis if I'm correct. I have two questions. 1: How would you rate your $500 kit to Rolands? Why would buying your set be better? 2: Can I remove pieces for a smaller kit? I'm not a drummer but I've played friends drum sets. 3 questions...sorry.
Brandon. Can you please do one of these but with a Groovefather cover? Or some other TH-cam savants cover? I recommend: m.th-cam.com/video/4ZnvQJJSjS4/w-d-xo.html 1. I think whatever’s individuals response would make great content. Especially if they thought they knew what song was being played. 2. I am not a drummer and I really enjoy drumming videos. Because of that I really do not know how to separate levels of skill, especially when everyone is clearly very good. I have watched Greyson play Nobody like 15 times and it is incredible and he is incredible. However, I have no idea how to judge if he received Esteparios cover here would it be similarly difficult to learn? Or, is that truly on another level? Or otherwise. Of course it would have to be the right guest. Your goal on your end I imagine is not to completely mess with people. Greyson immediately comes to mind because that guy is an absolute monster and also clearly really almost enjoys the pain of challenging himself. Can you put this together?
When Nic came to Drumeo, we had two hours left before he had to head to the airport, so I thought it would be fun to see if he could learn “Almost Easy” before his ride showed up 😆 Thanks for accepting the challenge!👊🏻

@@mrbungle3310 I mean being the son of Phil Collins, and the drummer for his fathers solo project and for Genesis helps a ton. I love a lot of what A7X has done since he passed, especially the whole "The Stage" album, but I can't help but wonder what they would be like today if he was still around, because he really was the driving force behind a lot of their best songs back in the day.

He was soooooo talented. You just don't find many people like him and if so you better look hard and damn sure keep them. Tragic story but AMAZING legacy.
@cxff33 lmao what? The two most recent albums are a gigantic improvement musically on everything they released prior. The Stage actually begins to tackle larger musical movements and pieces and demonstrates some musical maturity. Life is but a Dream… is by far the bands best work, the idea of Avenged Sevenfold writing a song like G with influences from math rock and Zappa in the same track literally seems like an impossibility for the band that was writing songs like Seize the Day & other assorted low quality drivel.

As fun as it is to see a drummer nail a song in no time, I WAY prefer watching a drummer struggle with the various parts and watching them work through it. This is one of my favorites thus far!
All or the drummers on here are so impressive Nic included. He did a great job learning a song that was obviously outside his comfort zone and for the most part nailed it. If he sat in on this song at their show most wouldnt complain about the job he did.
Homie did a phenomenal job. The rev has such a recognizable style and played so well. My dude here got a lot of the accents right, kept timing, filled well with the blast and rides. Good work
I'm one of those non-drummers who absolutely love this channel! I do play guitar though, and the kind of music plays is very less shreddy/melodic, and more rhythmically focused. So I see Nic taking notes like "the hard part I can't play yet", I'm like "That's literally what I do!" but his "cool hi-hat part" is my "chuggy riff bit".
I spent a month learning this song, and I was so proud of myself at the end. So cool to watch a professional piece it together. Rev truly wrote a masterful drum part here.
Man, I will always respect someone giving something a shot, whether they can pull it off or not. Especially when so many people are going to witness it. Much respect to this dude!
Watching this guy struggle and then remembering that the rev recorded this in a single take just, walked in, killed it, and walked out. The rev was a very special gift that we lost way too young

Great job! Nic has consistently demonstrated great feel in his Drumeo appearances. Even when he's not comfortable with what he's playing, his playing "feels" good.
Hats off to Nic!!! The guy took that like a champ. Anything the Rev did is pretty hard. It's nice to see the process for learning a sing by different drummers. Awesome stuff guys 😊❤
That is a great song! I have loved Nic’s father since the 70s partly because of his musical, melodic and songwriting talents but also because of his humor and affability. Nic has all of the above.
It's always so clear why these great players got as good as they did: they put themselves under so much expectation to deliver and don't let themselves off until they've absolutely nailed the bit they couldn't do. That drive for quality is what gets results!
Gotta give it to you guys, your edits are fucking amazing, the snippet that got cut him playing what he was explaining is absolutely brilliant. It's very cool how your knowledge of sound influences the editing style, and it only seems to become better with every video. keep it up buds!
We just saw a legend guys! He freakin nailed it!! I started exploring Nic's work pretty late, but hey, it's never tooo late right haha. I love his positive vibe towards the craft and his personality in general. This was inspiring!! Thanks to Drumeo team for bringing him in ;) much much much appreciated!!
This guy became one of my favourite drummers. I like his style and he was thrown one hell of a song and he pretty much nailed it in one afternoon. Awesome.
Wow, very impressive! I noticed a few very minor things that were missed, but generally it was spot on! Seeing as how you just learned the Rev's track, you did an impressive job!👏🏼👏🏼 The main part I noticed that was missing was towards the end.. (now, I don't know any drummer lingo, so I'll describe it as best as I can lol) .. but at the beginning 7:20 and again towards the end 9:48, he missed that double snare + cymbal hit. I always air drum that part!😂
The Rev was an absolute beast, one of the great modern metal drummers and Nic did a really admirable job with this song under the restraints, better than I think most people could do in the same circumstances. I love watching these drummers get thrown out of their comfort zone and seeing how they adjust and how they approach learning something that isn't in their wheelhouse. It's really great to see their talent and the appreciation they have for each other's talent on display.
I found this song really easy to learn. Haven’t played it in over a decade but it just grooves. Seeing Rev playing it helped a lot. Nic killed it & that snare sound is butter.
Came looking for this one.. playing rock band drums for years before getting an actual kit really did make a huge difference for me. It gives you a really solid foundation of timing and song structures! 👍
I'm proud with this channel. they still spread and share about the genius of the rev and his legacy. even we can't see him anymore. Jimmy must be happy with Drumeo Channel. I'm so excited when watch people learn about Jimmy"The Rev"Sullivan and i'm happy to see people reaction, the people who don't know about jimmy. thanks DRUMEO❤ #foREVer

When I was a wee lad playing at or fleeting Warped tour I got to see Avenged Sevenfold countless times. Hats off to Nic!!! The guy took that like a champ. Anything the Rev did is pretty hard. It's nice to see the process for learning a sing by different drummers. Awesome stuff guys 😊❤
Legendary drumming by Jimmy in this song as always.
The Rev made me love Avenged Sevenfold even more when I discovered what true drumming mastery was... Miss him so much. We didn't deserve him
That is a great song! I have loved Nic’s father since the 70s partly because of his musical, melodic and songwriting talents but also because of his humor and affability. Nic has all of the above.
Dude absolutely killed it!! I've been practising this song for a long time and he nailed it in 2hrs!! Legend ❤
This signature ride beat is absolutely fantastic, as whole song aswell. Rev was a great metal drummer.
This kit sounds all around incredible
Super impressive. It took me years to learn to play many of A7X’s catalogue. Gnarly stuff!
It's always so clear why these great players got as good as they did: they put themselves under so much expectation to deliver and don't let themselves off until they've absolutely nailed the bit they couldn't do. That drive for quality is what gets results!
He did insanely well for someone who doesnt listen to this type of music, let alone play this type of music.
It always warms my heart watching Jimmy get the respect and love he and his drumming deserves
Nunca pensé que veria al hijo de Phil Collins tocando una canción de The Rev. Cosas de youtube. Muy buen trabajo!
Gotta give it to you guys, your edits are fucking amazing, the snippet that got cut him playing what he was explaining is absolutely brilliant. It's very cool how your knowledge of sound influences the editing style, and it only seems to become better with every video. keep it up buds!
There's only one Rev, but you nailed it Nic, super impressive! Thanks for sharing your process with us! Your snare sounds incredible!
It's crazy he got that far in a single session. Great work!
Great attitude, brilliant drummer!
Dude, that was a hell of a good job. Very impressive.
The son of my favorite drummer playing Almost Easy? It's like this video was tailor made for me. Insane.
Powerful cover.
Love this.
Thanks for making it happen Drumeo.
Fantastic job! Really nice to see a good drummer show vulnerabilities about approaching certain sections! Clean final take too!
This guy became one of my favourite drummers. I like his style and he was thrown one hell of a song and he pretty much nailed it in one afternoon. Awesome.
DUDE! You crushed it. I play guitar and love watching drummers. Great work.
Bro to watch your progress was truly inspiring, you wrecked that shit.
Love the determination and raw emotions.
You're a legend 🔥🔥🔥🤘🏼
Congrats to Nic! Amazing work! Should be proud of what you did! Thank you again drumeo for another amazing video.
Impressive editing, Drumeo quality is top notch
Wow, very impressive! I noticed a few very minor things that were missed, but generally it was spot on! Seeing as how you just learned the Rev's track, you did an impressive job!👏🏼👏🏼
The main part I noticed that was missing was towards the end.. (now, I don't know any drummer lingo, so I'll describe it as best as I can lol) .. but at the beginning 7:20 and again towards the end 9:48, he missed that double snare + cymbal hit. I always air drum that part!😂
NAILED IT IN 10 MINUTES! ROCKSTAR!
The Rev drums were so unique, with personal hooks and signature style of approach, and this guy Nic NAILED IT.
Wow the snare sound just perfect!!!!
This was awesome. I loved all of Nick's content on Drumeo and his approach to this definitely serves as motivation 👏🏼👏🏼
I think one thing he picked up super quick that wasn't mentioned was the timing changes from 4/4 to 3/4 that he just breezed through
Playing with Genesis and growing up with Phil as your Dad can certainly help!
For him, time signatures are nothing. He's way too used to odd ones.
I think you mean 6/4 and 4/4? There isn’t any 3/4 in this song
DAMN ... HE NAILED IT 🫡 I CAN FEEL THE REV spirit flow with this one
Would have loved to see a few of the studio reactions during/after his final take!
Let us take a moment to admire Nic's concert toms, and the long lost art of giving a shit about reso's. 🤘🏻😎
Yo that double bass on the chorus just adds heaviness to the song. Its so cool!
Nic has become one of my favorite drummers, talented and just a very real person, and yes he can play it
Holy shit! Nic Collins is only 22 years old?!?!
Great video. I LOVE hearing other drummers takes on The Rev and A7X.
I found this song really easy to learn. Haven’t played it in over a decade but it just grooves. Seeing Rev playing it helped a lot. Nic killed it & that snare sound is butter.
He killed it, especially considering he never goes near the genre in his playing. Good work!
The content you guys put out is hands down the best marketing for a musicianship-related product I've ever seen. Brilliant!
One of those classic songs that Rock Band mapped really accurately. Definitely how I learned to play this song!
Nic slayed that. The Rev had such a distinct style. I’m sure it’s hard to capture it all under pressure.
When I was a wee lad playing at or fleeting Warped tour I got to see Avenged Sevenfold countless times. Unless we were setting up or doing something really important, we’d sprint in the direction of double bass and synchronized guitar solos.
Again, great job Nic!
First Portnoy, drummer of my lovely DT. Now Nic playing best group- A7X. Absolutely live it. I’m from Ukraine. Thank you, you’re making my days during war a bit better. RIP REV
He nailed it so quickly!
and he sang while drumming like this, the rev was truly iconic
