  • What's up, folks! I'm back with another Talk Talk reaction (shout-out to both Stuart and Elyssia!), and this time we listen to the final track on their 1986 album The Colour of Spring, "Time It's Time," though there is an additional bonus track in the folder for us after this. In any case, join me as we listen to another lovely Talk Talk tune that elevates and transcends at multiple points. Cheers!
Also I run a Patreon featuring extra content of different types, so anyone interested in supporting what we do here on TH-cam and getting early-access to video-watchalongs and reactions blocked on TH-cam, as well as behind-the-scenes videos, video-reactions, and blooper-reels from my videos, can go here: / shnootz
And those who'd like to support the channel with a one-time donation can do so via PayPal, at billshattner@yahoo.com. Thanks!

Their songs are just so sweeping and expansive. That chord change and your reaction to it just embodied what makes their songs so good.

Incomparably and unfathomable beautiful. This music and these lyrics transcend our everyday lives and take us higher, far higher, maybe even to the pearly gates. That outro could be twice as long and still leave me wanting more. Extraordinary. Thanks for reacting to it. Most people stay safe and review their poppier well known tracks only. Hats off to you sir, and best wishes from Exeter, UK.

A unique and fascinating track - probably my favourite on the album, and there is so many quality tracks alongside.
The other track in the folder is Its Getting Late In The Evening: it featured as a b-side to one of the single releases from The Colour Of Spring, but is such a great track it would have easily slotted in somewhere, and indeed I would have preferred it in the album track listing at 7 just before Time It’s Time. Coincidentally, I played this album this morning and thought to myself, when will Matt do this track 😁. So many great elements … the bassline alone 👌🏼

Ha, it was meant to be! But seriously, thanks for the patience, we'll keep moving through the catalog, I promise. Cheers, Stuart!

..and here my Talk Talk journey ends. I always felt like an outsider amongst Talk Talk fans, as I never connected with their two post-rock albums that both fans and critics adore.
I definitely see the quality and understand why people love them, I enjoy a few tracks myself, but they are just not for me. I remember when I dove into Talk Talk how disappointed I was that they stopped doing fantastic pop songs.
As for this song, it's fantastic, love the instrumental section in the middle, wish it would be longer! Ending us great too :)

Maybe give it some time and revisit after a few years. I started listening to Talk Talk about 8 years ago and loved The Colour of Spring and their earlier stuff, but couldn't get into the post-rock albums (not a genre I really care for) BUT for some reason, I revisited them again just this year and it clicked. Can't get enough of all their stuff now. Maybe it'll happen sometime for you too~

@@moodyfeverdream Yeah, that is fair enough, will give them another try at some point!

This song is just not in my Talk Talk top 5 because what comes after in Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock is incomparable. The ending of this song is very rewarding, an incredible ending to an incredible album.
