The manual says not to use hot water as it can damage the machine. But there is a hot water inlet. If I hook the hose to hot water, can I use hotwater?

Reason it says to not use hot water is when you need to connect the unit to a faucet, which you can only connect to the cold connection on the washer and adjust temps on the faucet itself. Otherwise if you have a separate hot water line to connect onto the hot water connection at the back of the unit, then yes, you can do that.

Yes, it applies to all of our top loaders. (MCSTCW09W models only have 1 inlet hose, not 2)
