The beauty of this is that it can be used anywhere. It does not need a vent, a gas line or 220 electric. It can be hidden behind a lower cabinet. Thank you for the review.

@@RachaelXO Hi Rachel. I just want to thank you for your very kind response to my thoughtless comment. You are correct, I clearly made an assumption from your stating you were not keeping the unit the first time I watched your video. Somehow I heard you say you were 'returning the unit'. But upon listening a second time, you've clearly stated, you are 'not keeping the unit'. I do apologize for my mistake. Thank you for clarifying so that anyone who may have read my comment, now also has clarity on the matter. And, if they too heard what i heard the first time, they may read this and be in the know. I do hope you will accept my sincerest of apologies. xo Ps, your little girls are beautiful and seem quite sweet.
I have this same exact unit. Thank you for the upload, I went through trial and error and if your home the quickest possible way to wash and dry is Wash on "Quick Wash" 20:00 minutes then Dry on "Timed Dry" 01:28 1 hr 28 minutes for a Wash & Dry time total of 01:48 1hr 48 minutes. Tips, take clothes out asap, keep the load medium size, don't overstuff it, and hang your clothes. This is spin and steam drying only so clothes may seem damp but after hanging for just a 5 minutes they are ready. If your not home the "Auto Dry" is convenient but longer. Just put them in & walk away, but most the time the clothes are wrinkled so I suggest just washing under garments if your not going to be home. Hope this helps someone🤗
Always glad to help! Thank you for taking the time to extend some help to others. That'll be very helpful to others. If you think of anything else, or figure out new things down the road, please feel free to share.
Hi I just want to wash the clothes and dry them as well without manually doing it so what's tge setting I put so it can fo both without me putting on a dry setting
You made it easy for my family to decide what unit to go with. My brother introduced us to the portable washer world that we didn't know existed. However he had to do so many steps with his unit, that it made me search for one that was more convenient and cost effective. Your videos were very helpful and well detailed and we truly appreciate it, thank you 😊.
You are so welcome, we're always happy to help! I have 3 other portable washer videos that you may want to check out if you have time and are still considering your options. Please let me know if you have any questions and I'll try my best to help 😊
I watched your first video of the portable washer, and I was convinced so I purchased the set. Now I’m looking to get a new washer to replace my old front loader and I just place the order for the Magic Chef washer dryer combo current model just a few extra option to choose from wash. Rachael if you were the sale rep for the band, you would be a great great ambassador for the brand! Excellent video, this is the way to review a product. Thank you very much for making this video.
I live on the second floor of a duplex and have looking for an apartment washer and dryer this video has solved everything. Thank you. That Emma is a cutie 💓
I sold appliances for yearssss just an fyi for extending any washers lifespan, when finished with your laundry, always put it on a drain and spin cycle - another bonus with that is it reduces washer smells! An fyi on not using dryer vents - the moisture in the home can cause damage, like causing paint to chip, wood to unnecessarily expand/shrink, and more.
Just as I was going to comment that’s it makes some noise you commented that it’s not. LOL!!! 😂 I have been waffling back and forth about getting one of these units .. my washer will do a quick load in 22 minutes then I’ll dry in 40-60 minutes …so it takes just as long to wash one load on the setting you chose as it does to was dishes in a dishwasher. LOL!!! 😂 you are making me rethink this type of unit and I appreciate that. Maybe you could have gone through all the wash cycles like you did the dry side…but 20/20 hindsight … I appreciate the video!
Happy to help my friend! Here's some other units I've reviewed as well that you can take a look at and compare your options th-cam.com/play/PL8UWdvtDhNnClCYFaQENWHnaIv5q0mAPk.html
My wife and I have been looking for something exactly what your video shows! Thanks for your video. This little Magic Chef washer machine is perfect!!! We have a very small 1 bedroom Home, compact but with all the high tech appliances , equipment, and furniture, so we love this small front loader washer machine. It checks all the boxes for our place....cant ask for anything more than this perfect fitting unit, HOWEVER......OMG....when my wife told me how much this little unit was, I just about poo poo'd my pants! LOL> Are you kidding me Magic Chef?????? $1,400.oo bucks!!!!! WOW!!! The price is just absurd. It seems like everything that fits perfect in our place, and is miniature and high tech, seems to always tip the finance scale!! LOL We're gonna keep shopping. But thanks for the insight!!! Update: Ok, what I didn't know, upon further reading up on this unit, its a dryer as well, So this we may consider purchasing.
Hey Randy! Sorry it took so long to respond, our Family has been a bit under the weather and just getting better. Honestly, I agree with you as it is quite expensive. It is a 2 in 1, which is nice, but there's others out there that are less expensive. It is a nice feature that it has both wash and dry functions, but there's also really great portable dryers that a separate and less expensive. When my Husband and I learned about portable units and that such amazing contraptions exist lol, I did a lot of research and decided on a Magic Chef Washer and Dryer. In fact, I've done a video on them and others as well. I'll provide you the play list link so you and your wife can see other great options available to you guys. th-cam.com/play/PL8UWdvtDhNnClCYFaQENWHnaIv5q0mAPk.html
Hi Rachel, thank you for these videos. I am only renting a room in a townhouse near my college so I would have to buy a portable washer so these videos are super useful. My landlord okayed it fortunately and I have space in my own bathroom. I see that you moved into a home, will you do a video on how to buy a house? What do we need to know etc? I am planning on getting a house all by myself so it’s a challenge for me to get all info thank you
Hello there! Did you end up getting a portable unit, if so which one and how is it working for you?! Hope you are well! Sorry just seeing your comment, I apologize! Yes, we moved into a home a few years back. Did you find a Home or the information needed to get one? It's a bit of a process, and I know there a definitely channels out there that are experts and do much better of a job explaining than I could lol. I appreciate you!
That was a very nicely done video. I love your little assistants 😊. It's unfortunate that in the interests of attractive design, there's no arrow or dot on the dial to indicate what's selected. Also, instead of banding a piece of nylon stocking over the end of the hose, you can easily find a strainer for the drain to catch lint and such. I paid a dollar for a bathtub drain strainer, and it catches so much lint! Those times for washing and drying seem incredibly long. Wow! Thank you for doing the review.
Thank you, yes I have great little assistants 😊 We started off at first with a strainer, but small debris was still finding its way through, so we got creative and started to use the nylon. The Magic Chef set we had was my Favorite
@@RachaelXO I think all combo should have filter built-in to catch lint. How is it working so far? Any pro and con, wish list - it can do better kind of things?
Something to keep in mind is washer dryers use water to efficiently dry clothes. You are meant to leave the water hook up connected to them whilst they dry. This is why you hear the pump kick in to evacuate the water but was noisy because the water wasn't connected. It's how the dryer efficiently condenses the moisture out of the air to dry clothes.
Thank you for that. Yes, I went back to check, and at 17:50 you can see I still have everything attached and going, when starting the dryer. Good for everyone to know.
@@RachaelXO Did you know some washer dryers use more water to dry then wash 🤣 it's crazy to think that. But if it's all you can fit in your space it's better then nothing!!
@@lukiejamesI'm so glad you said something! I had left it on, just because, but didn't know it was actually required! 😅so glad you let us all know, good looking out! Lol Yeah these machines are interesting and super cool, like portable units in general.
Go to google and type in portable washing machine dolly. Then make sure the one you're buying will match the dimensions of your washer. Magic chef makes a dolly as well.

OMG THANK YOU for this review!! I’m thinking about getting one but do not have a hook up in this tiny condo!! You covered everything! I have a black and decker that only spins!! Thank you so much 🙏🏽
You're welcome, thank you for the question. I'd personally stay away from anything bulky in the portable units. As it may be too big to wash properly, and work the machine harder, and over time wares on the machine. If it's super lightweight, maybe, otherwise I'd say no. When we had our portable units, I used them for everything but comforters. Sheets, lap blankets, towels, are all fine
Yes you can, this size machine is the standard here in the uk and across Europe, as long as it fits in the drum you can wash anything, Never understood why you guys in the states insist on having such huge machines, unless you have a small army living in your house you really don’t need a machine that’s so big, And it’s a shame the majority of washing machines you guys have over there don’t have built in heaters to heat the water, I would never ever wash clothes in cold water or towels or bedding, exceptionally unhygienic , front loader machines in the uk and the rest of Europe do 3 rinses as a minimum, this still uses less water than your top loaders but rinses so much better because of the way a front loader works, front loaders wash better as well, in any washing machine I would only use powder, the gels, pods and liquids leave a film in the gap between the tub and drum
I used to have the washer from your first video which I loved watching. I sold it to someone who needed one. Since then I moved into a place with full size washer/dryer but the portable washer I had was great and I used it for a whole year. I loved your first video and this is great too. Most ppl don't know about these portable washers/dryers. The portable washers/dryers are definitely awesome to have if you don't want to go to a laundromat or use a public washer in an apartment. Best of luck on your videos... Btw I love this front load washer on this video. I think I'm obsessed with these portable washers lol ...
You're right, most people have no clue about these awesome units! My experience with ours, for the year we had it also, was the best! I really rave about these machines, and the convenience alone is a selling point.
Thank you so much my friend, & yes I absolutely agree with you! Here's some others I've reviewed and really liked as well. I really like the Magic Chef & Helohome the most just for reference. The others are really good too, depending on what you're looking for. I also prefer a separate dryer. The Magic Chef dryer worked great! th-cam.com/play/PL8UWdvtDhNnClCYFaQENWHnaIv5q0mAPk.html
Yes, there's other great portable options as well that I have reviewed on my channel, you may want to check them out. Thank you so much & God Bless you too my friend!
I have the same washer, it's branded Midea in Brazil, it is a great and cheap washer. I guess you should have unscrewed that big bolts behind the machine, they are only for transportation purpose and they lock the suspension of the washer. Also, you can't use liquid detergent in the second wash unless you use some sort of container for holding the detergent, otherwise it will get in the tub on first wash. I use the bottom of an ajax bottle, it works fine. Great video!
Yes, I intended to include that part in the video. As for the detergent it only needs to be put in once, in the beginning of wash, like a normal washer. I think that's what you were saying, and if so, yes that's what was done. Nice washer
Thanks Rachael, great guide. It answered all of the questions that I have about the wash cycles of the Hysens machine that I baught several months ago.
I've reviewed 3 other portable units on my channel that you can consider checking out, so you can have more options to choose from. Portable washers/dryers are so Awesome!

The machine can be hooked up as a regular washer as it has both hot and cold water inlets. Here are some other unit options that are available to you that I have reviewed as well. th-cam.com/play/PL8UWdvtDhNnClCYFaQENWHnaIv5q0mAPk.html
Thank you for this. This machine is identical to the Danby we just bought, but the "idiot guide" was not helpful in the least bit. Our last combo was much more basic in the options.
I'll be honest, I don't really do videos. However, I will say, in my opinion there are better brands to look into if you can get your hands on them. Home Depot just recently put out an LG where I live. This machine isn't terrible if you have 8 hours to devote to a single load. Also, even though you can stuff a full/queen sized blanket in it, you have to be careful not to overdo the load. My daughter put 4 bath towel, 3 hand towels, and 3 wash clothes in yesterday for a "quick wash" cycle. That's a cycle that goes for 2 hours and 58 minutes (wash, rinse, spin, and dry), I have since then put that load back on dry for 4 hours...and now it's back on for 4 hours. I probably could have chose a shorter time, but I'm done playing with this load. If they aren't dry after this I'll find some place to hang them up. The only reason we got this Danby was because combos are hard to find around here and this was all we could find for our camper. I suppose if you're using it for a camper that all you do is use it for camping it would be great, but for everyday use for a family of 6 I would give our machine a 3/10 rating.
@@jessicasaites4612 Well, I'm just wondering. How do you have your water system? Set up for the washing machine? Do you run it on a sink? Or does it have dedicated hook ups?

Thanks for the video!!! I purchased the portable washer and dryer based on your previous videos. I am currently trying to create a setup similar to yours for my appliances. I saw the washer/dryer combo after purchasing my portable units and always wondered if the combo would have been better. Now I know the separate units are better for my family. Thanks again.
I'm so glad your Family have these units, they're truly Awesome, as you well know! Congratulations on your Baby, what a Blessing! I have reviewed other options on my channel that you may want to check out first to compare your options. Let me know if you have any questions 😊
Thank you Jay. Something even as small as a bathroom sink would be fine. As long as the hose is "anchored down" from the pressure of the water coming out, it should be fine in a smaller sink.
@@Aesop101 you are so very welcome, and thank you too my friend! As for the dryer portion of it, there are the extra lint trap vents that are available. However, from what I've seen on like bus living videos, they don't use them from what I've seen. Also, the couple I sold this unit to after the review, lives in an RV & from what I understand didn't have one either. You can further research how others do it, & see how you feel comfortable doing it. Also I provided the link & it may provide that information on the listing.
Great job with the video except the hose should be the other way around the straight one goes to the quick connect and the angled part of the hose goes to the back of the machine.
When you hooked it up and turned on the faucets do you have to turn on the hot as well as cold? Can you use just cold since you only have the cold line hooked up?
These machines are the coolest! Thank you for sharing. Please feel free to add anything you feel would help others. Since you have been regularly using the machine.
Is this unit a truly ventless unit? Does it heat up you home or create higher humidity levels? I really appreciate your video. I am looking to get something like this for an apartment. God bless you and your family.
When we used the Magic Chef in our apartment, we had zero issues. As for this model, it is ventless as mentioned, and shouldn't cause any issues either. The person we sold it to was replacing theirs after several years they said, which they traveled with in a RV. God bless you as well. Check out my other washer videos to help you make your decision
@@Nikua13 I completely understand. Watch the videos on the units that I reviewed, then ask us what remaining questions you may have to help make a better decision. May God bless you and keep you and your Family as well.
So my question is, when it switches to drying is there any heat drying the clothes? Or is it just spin drying/air drying?? I have a panda portable fully automatic washing machine and want to get the magic chef portable dryer to go with it. I had the washer/spin dryer combo before and that was too much work plus I still had to hang my clothes to dry. So then I got a portable air dryer which looked like a closet where you just hang your clothes and zip up the bag and turn on the air, but that left my clothes looking like they were hung on a clothes line. The best dryer I had was the magic chef portable electric dryer. Because there's heat drying the clothes and they're tumble drying. So yeah does this machine dry with heat?
Sorry for the late reply. But yes, this unit does, in fact. Use heat to dry the clothes. It uses a condenser drying system which will take a bit longer, but if used correctly should provide good results.
Yes, it works just like a full size. Therefore as it's going through the wash cycles it needs a water source to pull water from as needed. I have several videos on my channel regarding portable Washing Machines if you're interested 😊
I know this came out 2 years ago but do you remember if you had to leave the water running from the sink in order for it to dry I just got this one but I got it off Facebook so I didn’t get a manual and I don’t wanna break it !
It's honestly been a long time since I reviewed this washer, as you've mentioned. However, I remember someone in my comments saying that water does need to be left on, because it's a steam dry. I'm pretty positive that's what they said. If you get a chance you can look through my comments for that person's comment. When I used the washer for the few loads I did, I had the water on. Perhaps leave the water on until you find out as to whether you need to or not. Better safe than sorry is what I always feel. Another thing, look up the model number on Google & you can find the manual for any item that way. Let me know once you find out either way! 😊

You most certainly can connect it like a regular washer! I wouldn't put anything too bulky in it. A large throw blanket would fit very nice along with a couple hand towels, to give you an idea of how much fits.
It's honestly been so long since I reviewed this unit that I don't remember. I'm pretty sure I covered that in the video as I always try to be as thorough as possible. You could always type the model into Google and download the manual if it didn't come with one so you can have it on file for future reference.
TLDR: These machines have no lint trap more info is below! Washer-dryers typically use a hot air blower to evaporate water and then use a spray of cold water to a metal condenser to remove the steam which is why combo owners most of the time see it drying more efficiently in the winter as the mains water is colder! This makes the machine generally self-cleaning other than a quick wipe around the door rubber with a damp cloth and running the empty load tub clean as with all washing machines (about once a month or when your machine tells you mine locks out at 40 washes Source: I own a BOSH one in my kitchen DO CHECK THE MANUAL FOR ALL INFO THOUGH!

You are a LIFE SAVER!! just bought this exact one off Facebook and I had NO idea how to use this
I'm thankful I was able to help! 😊
What about the lint? Do we have to worry about that? Where does lint go and how does it dry if that's the case?
Good stuff Rachael, thank you for purchasing this for us to see.
You got it! I just reviewed 2 more washers and will be editing them hopefully the beginning of next week, as to my computer is in the shop
Thank you, yes I have great little assistants 😊
We started off at first with a strainer, but small debris was still finding its way through, so we got creative and started to use the nylon. The Magic Chef set we had was my Favorite
Good to point out about the lint screen that can prevent clogging your drain or even cause more issue if you live in condo complex.
Yes, we try to include as many details as possible 😊

You are so welcome! I have reviewed other portable Washing machines on my channel that you can check out as well! I'm glad I was able to help ☺️
I had this in An apt for 1 yr it was a time buster for two adults talking 6 for a helf load you'll never catch up loads piling back up everyday
Do you think this could wash a full size comforter?
Thank you for being so thorough!
@@davedebang-bang6168 thank you!

The portable washers/dryers are definitely awesome to have if you don't want to go to a laundromat or use a public washer in an apartment.
Best of luck on your videos...
Btw I love this front load washer on this video. I think I'm obsessed with these portable washers lol ...

Gracias mamita for you and your husband for giving us this important information
have the 24 inch model and love it. Saves me 10$ a week X 4 = 40 bucks. Has paid for itself in 3 years
14:35 you could also put one of those metal sink strainers in your sink to strain out the lint.
You most certainly could. We chose to hold it down though, due to the water pressure, that would have the hose going everywhere.
I use a stainless steel screened version just for my sink.
@@RachaelXO She said to stain out the lint, because you use a child scrap shirt! Holding the hose down in place is a different story!
This is a neat unit . Will definitely consider getting this when I move out.

I really loved this video . I just had one remaining question: If I have a washing machine hookup , is it necessary to still drain ?
The machine can be hooked up as a regular washer as it has both hot and cold water inlets. Here are some other unit options that are available to you that I have reviewed as well. th-cam.com/play/PL8UWdvtDhNnClCYFaQENWHnaIv5q0mAPk.html
Thank you for this. This machine is identical to the Danby we just bought, but the "idiot guide" was not helpful in the least bit. Our last combo was much more basic in the options.
Can you buy any chance do a video on the one you bought? I'm considering the same model.

Great video but one question how big does the kitchen sink need to be to be able to handle the water pressure coming out
Thank you Jay. Something even as small as a bathroom sink would be fine. As long as the hose is "anchored down" from the pressure of the water coming out, it should be fine in a smaller sink.
Thank you so much for your immediate reply. I subbed. Keep up the great work.
For the dryer do I need an exhaust pipe to go out the window for any hot air coming out

Question - do we keep the sink on for the entire hour that it’s running its cycle??

I just got this washer/dryer in my apartment. I can't seem to find a lint trap. Does it have one?
I have this washer/dryer in my apartment, do I need to remove any dryer lint from this unit?
Does it need the hot water hook up to dry or can it like you said spin dry
Do you use laundry detergent do you use liquid laundry detergent or powder I saw you put three spoons of something in the laundry and you used vinegar for the softener I have never heard of that could you tell me what you use.

How do you move it to the sink? You or your husband move it with hand truck?
She said that you have to buy wheels to move it. So, in other words, the unit is NOT portable at all! The title is misleading!
@@rocwyvern1101 portable as in no vent is need to wash in a room with 0 ventilation (bathroom) then u can store it with the dolly in a closet and it’s 110 volts instead of 220 unlike monstrous washers that DO NOT fit in an apartment bathroom/closet, need ventilation, R heavyER & must be stationed.
Can you show where it catches the lint? If it doesn't have an exhaust vest where does the heat disperse?
@@justd02ofus I don't own this unit, it was reviewed solely to help others. It's been quite sometime since this video so I don't remember. However, I know I was very thorough in my review.
Can you connect this to the regular washer/dryer connector
Yes, you can. Here's a link to check it out amzn.to/3wHB0mt
How much is it n where to get all supplies needed to be secured to have all items...ITS THERE ANOTHER MODEL THATS THE SAME AS THIS COMBO ...thanks
Does it not have a lint filter?
Hey, it's been a couple years or so since making this video, so I don't remember if there is. However, I do know I discuss whether there is one or not within this video.
TLDR: These machines have no lint trap more info is below!
Washer-dryers typically uses a hot air blower to evaporate water and then uses a spray of cold water to a metal condenser to remove the steam which is why combo owners most of the time see it drying more efficiently in the winter as the mains water is colder!
Hi, When you had portable dryer was drying time about same as your regular dryer? My friend said portable takes long time so I didn’t get one only washer
Hi Ann, thank you for your comment. I used to personally have and use the Magic Chef washer and dryer and they honestly worked just the same as a full size washer and dryer. I absolutely loved them, and that's what got me to sharing my experience with TH-cam. Here's my other portable units, including the Magic Chef I used to have th-cam.com/play/PL8UWdvtDhNnClCYFaQENWHnaIv5q0mAPk.html
@@RachaelXO 😊 Thank you I appreciate your help
@@Ann-lv5dg You're so welcome! I hope you're already apart of our TH-cam Family, if not please consider, you're very sweet and would love to have you apart of it!
I love your videos they have so much information
Is this good for rvs that move around a lot?
After doing this review I sold the washer since I didn't need it for anything other than the review. I ended up selling it to a couple that lives full-time in a RV. They said they were looking specifically for this make and model to replace their old one & it worked great for them is what they said.
Here's some other options though for portable units as well th-cam.com/play/PL8UWdvtDhNnClCYFaQENWHnaIv5q0mAPk.html
Thank you so much for the reviews
You got it! Thank you for taking the time to spread encouragement, it's really appreciated.
Did you purchase this from Amazon because I purchased one from Amazon and I'm hoping that it doesn't come dented
Just to pre warn you forgot to remove the transit bolts that hold the drum while it’s being shipped you need to remove them or you can damage the machine and it will not work
@@Alexandra-iq6vi I just responded, sorry yesterday was very busy for me.
Laundry King, yes that information was intended to be in the video, I apologize. Thank you for catching that, and mentioning for others.
I just need to water hose to be able to lean into my big deep basement sink so it can drain the water without having to attach it to the faucet. Is it able to drain the water without being attached to the faucet ????
No way I am taking5 hrs to do a wash and dry . Normal size washer is 45 mins to wash 48 mins to dry so one thumb down .
The fact they never called you back another HUGE issue . That tells me they dont care about having my business not to mention if there was a issue they wont be there to help me so another thumb down .
We absolutely loved our Magic Chef portable units when we had them, and they had a regular running time. Yes, I agree with you, they need to step up their customer service.
What size sheet can you wash in there and is that the biggest size it come in
There's many portable washers and they're different sizes. As for this one, it'll wash a queen size set.
Where is the serial number located on this machine?? Thanks for your help
Thank you for this video! Super helpful!
How is it with blankets?
can this wash a queen size comforter lookin for any size washer that can.
No, it wouldn't. More like a throw blanket
You didn’t remove the shipping bolts 1:11 the 4 bolts in the back,
And if you don’t remove them, you could damage your machine
And it will vibrate very badly.
Can you wash queen size comforters in this machine?
If I don’t want to hook it to my faucet every time is there a way to connect it under my sink??
I'm not sure about under your sink, but this is how we did it when we had a portable washer that we used everyday
