I stumbled onto your video & love your honesty! Thanks for sharing! I’ve had an etsy shop for 13 years. Been through all of the crazy ups and downs. I never put my shop on vacation anymore. I find it’s too hard to build up momentum. I just take it with me and turn off customs or hire someone to ship. Summer always dips in sales for me. I also had my best year in 2023 and it definitely felt much harder to me as well 😂 Just keep going! I have come to realize the more effort you put in the more you eventually get out sometimes it just takes a little time to pay off. My conversion last year was way down and this year it was up 🤷🏻‍♀️ Best of luck to you! 💜🙏✨

Thanks for the encouragement 🤍 & Congrats on your 2023 haha! I definitely agree that it takes some time to see the pay off. I’ve had some listing not take off or really get sales until a whole 6 months later and then they become a bestseller. Little additions of listings throughout the yr and over the yrs certainly does add up, now to just get to work in 2024! Hope your 14th yr is even better!

I have just found your video and it is interesting. I wouldn't have a Etsy shop due to the horror stories I have watched. I do prefer Pinterest instead it's more flexibility and I have better interactions. I don't align with Etsy also but that's just me personally. Well done for your sales though. 😊

Your excitement and passion will take you a long way. Keep reaching for the stars, as they say.
I started my shop last April. The original items I added didn't do well (still haven't) but when I added some bird and squirrel feeders, things picked up. I only had 10 orders in June and 10 more in July but then August had 33 and September had 45. I added some wooden jack o' lanterns, for Halloween, at the end of July so by September, they were definitely boosting my overall sales. October slowed down but then I had over 60 orders in November.
I'm looking forward to 2024. I have added two more bird feeders and I have some other ideas that I'm working on. I've kept my jack o' lanterns active and they do get some views so I'm hoping they do well again by the end of the summer and into fall.
I'm doing this all with a full time job. I plan to retire in a couple of years so I'm hoping my success will continue and I can use my Etsy income to supplement my income until I don't have the ability to make things anymore.
Best of luck to you in 2024. It's great to see your excitement.

Your products sound awesome. I would love to know more, I love my bird feeders and always interested in new ones. I also have a little Etsy store, I've been open for over a year and only have 57 sales. However, I'm a trained registered nurse 27 years and because I won't take the vaccine. I can't find a job in this chicken. So I'm trying my best to learn how to be a designer. A marketer, an e-commerce business woman, and it has been a learning curve. Considering I did not know how to copy and paste when I started this journey. So I imagine my journey is. It's gonna be much slower than most peoples. And I'm okay with you. Well on the Etsy journey. 😊

Aw thanks & wow that’s amazing! You never know what new listing you add to your shop could be your next best seller! I heard a TH-camr share that every video you release on YT is like a little piece of real estate that works for you to earn some income, and I feel that Etsy is the same! I only have about 40 listing in my shop, but the most successful shops have hundreds, if not thousands of listings working for them, so the sky is the limit! Love the vision to supplement your retirement income, totally doable! Wishing you the best!

Thanks :) & how exciting! That sounds like a great plan, I feel like the beginning of any shop is the most difficult, but it just gets better and better from there as more listings are added & more reviews are left. Wishing you the best!

This was so honest and inspiring to watch. I love to see how excited you got over your sales and progress! Congrats on your successful year! I just recently got into cross stitching in Summer 2023 and I'd like to try embroidery next.

For sure! & thanks :) My two priorities this year are adding new patterns to my shop and uploading once a week to TH-cam to work on building a second income stream through TH-cam Adsense 🤓

I think you have something about Etsy punishing you when you have long wait times. Sometimes I will increase the turn-around time on my products instead of putting my shop on vacation… and I think it hurts my shop and products’ visibility. I also think they wait to push out digital items until you get a positive rating. They like to make sure it won’t reflect badly on them and lose an Etsy customer. It’s so inspiring to hear how well your shop did even with less effort this year- cheers to $45,000 in 2024 haha

I 100% agree! I think increasing processing times is the better route to go over putting a shop on vacation mode, even though they both kind of have their “punishments” lol. Haha thanks , yes 2024 will be great 🤣!
